Homelander - Superman, Queen Maeve - Wonder Woman, A-Train - The Flash, The Deep - Aqua Man, Black Noir - Bat Man, Lamplighter - Green Lantern etc. The show is very graphic but if you survived Invincible you can make it through this show as well. Enjoy! 😂 Billy Butcher is an operative who has issues with Supes not unlike Huey...but he has much more drive and skills to support his ambition. Karl Urban absolutely kills this roll along with the actor who plays Homelander. Actually this show is very well cast. 😅 Hughie wants to be "The guy in the chair". That's a laugh...ha ha ha 😂
I'm not sure there's a lot of similarities between Lamplighter and Green Lantern other than their use of an old-timey lamp/lantern. Lamplighter seems like he's got more in common with Pyro from X-Men,.

I never see it mentioned anywhere in the comments from any channel reacting to "The Boys" but what really always surprises me is the fact that Hughie (Jack Quaid) comes from acting Royalty and no one ever mentions it, His real life parents are "Meg Ryan and Dennis Quaid". This is something I did not know before I watched this show but now that I have watched this show I have seen him in "Scream" and "The Hunger Games" and "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire". But Karl Urban that man I have seen him in so many tv shows and movies like the Executioner in "Thor: Ragnarok" and Vaako in the "Riddick" movies and Judge Dredd in the second "Dredd" movie and Eomer in "The Lord of the Rings" and Julius Caesar in "Xena: Warrior Princess" but my Favorite role of his was as Dr. McCoy in the new "Star Trek" movies (that also has Simon Pegg playing Scotty) I love this series, Can't wait til season 4 starts. DC comics "The Authority" were the main inspiration for "The Boys", i'm glad James Gunn is giving "The Authority" the recognition they rightfully deserve in the new DCU 😎👍.
Simon Pegg was the original Comic artists inspiration for Huey and was in talks to play him in the show when it was first talked about making it but he'd aged out of the Huey role and played his dad instead.
In the original comics, Hughie was modeled after Simon Pegg. He's no longer the right age to play Hughie, so I think it was a nice touch to have him play his father.
The series "HAPPY!" from SyFy was similarly disturbing if that's something you're interested in. A little girl gets kidnapped and her imaginary friend suddenly can be seen by the girl's father and helps him find her. It's very entertaining IMO! Only 2 seasons though.
Happy is great but definitely messed up. The mix of live action and cartoons is similar to Who Framed Roger Rabbit, or one of the characters in this (no spoilers).
Loved the show! The second season was a bit meh, but the first one was hilarious! The premise was what caught my interest. The imaginary friend happens to be a purple unicorn 😂 Some time ago I tried to find some reactors to re-watch it with, and I couldn't find any... It would be great to re-watch it with @VKunia

It's not quite as common as in My Hero Academia, but yes; the supers in this show are popping up very nearly everywhere. There is also a very logical reason as to why, but the show will explain that in later episodes.
Its funny to me cause I watched Supernatural growing up and when this came out I watched because of Eric Kripke but didn’t really know what to expect and to say I was shocked would be an understatement but this has become one of my favorite shows of all time.
Fellow Supernatural fan here. Kripke is awesome. Bobby Singer is awesome. Supernatural probably should've ended more than a few seasons earlier than it did but it was still a good time.
I LOVE that this show portrays what would REALLY happen if people had Super Powers. I mean everywhere I look I see people acting like having powers would make people BE more responsible and behave in a manner that ONLY promotes human evolution. When the very REAL truth is that over 90% of humanity is greedy, selfish, ignorant and extremely petty and spiteful. The proof is whenever people gather in large numbers, all it takes is ONE asshole to instigate a violent riot and then there will be like one or maybe two people with actual intelligence that won't riot. But then that's two people out of 500. So the fact that the Supers in this show are arrogant, selfish, narcissists is NOT "out of the ordinary." Wanting to BE a good person and hero is out of the ordinary. Anyone who says the'y be perfect Law abiding people are lying; to you and to themselves.
Thats just the cynical take, if 90% of humanity were greedy and selfish we wouldnt survive as a species, we survived and thrived because we are social animals who co-operate and work together. Selfish sociopaths think everyone else is like them and the news is just full of negativity and bad news, they wont mentions the 100s of thousands of good deeds by good people every day. You have been brainwashed by the negative news selling media, but thats not what humanity is. And the proof is how we have strived together from ancient times.

IDK if someone I don't know if anyone has already posted this but...Hughie Campbell's character is based on Simon Pegg's appearance in the comic, only with red hair. He also said that if they ever adapted the story into films or series he wanted to play the character but unfortunately this series came a little too late for him, so he only played the role from Hughie's father to pay tribute to the one in the comic.
That series, some Batman moviez and Deadpool is actually the only superheroe shows I really like. Enjoy watching as much as I enjoy your reaction videos!
When you finish the first 3 seasons, you are going to want to watch Gen V. It is kind of a spin off show, but it takes place after Season 3 and before Season 4. Not sure when season 4 is going to come out (it was supposed to have come out already, but Covid put it on hold.), but it looks like April 2024. So you have 3 seasons of The Boys and 1 season of Gen V before you start in on Season 4 of the Boys and Season 2 of Gen V.

IDK if someone I don't know if anyone has already posted this but...Hughie Campbell's character is based on Simon Pegg's appearance in the comic, only with red hair. He also said that if they ever adapted the story into films or series he wanted to play the character but unfortunately this series came a little too late for him, so he only played the role from Hughie's father to pay tribute to the one in the comic.

This show is amazing! yeah there's 3 seasons out so far, and also Gen V is a spinoff that is connected and you should watch it after S3.

When you finish the first 3 seasons, you are going to want to watch Gen V. It is kind of a spin off show, but it takes place after Season 3 and before Season 4. Not sure when season 4 is going to come out (it was supposed to have come out already, but Covid put it on hold.), but it looks like April 2024. So you have 3 seasons of The Boys and 1 season of Gen V before you start in on Season 4 of the Boys and Season 2 of Gen V.
With all the over the top mature rated themes and gore this show has to offer, I'm still shaking my head over the co-ed bathroom at Vought.
