There's a big difference between Soldier Boy and Homelander. Homelander is 100% concerned with public perception and has an obsession with being loved. He has rage and anger when his ego is set off. With Soldier Boy at this point, once the heroes/people who betrayed him are killed, I think he'd be perfectly fine with just having sex and doing drugs the majority of the time.
Are you sure? You didn’t saw that his team planned to kill him because he was a asshole all the time, now he is a walking bomb if ptsd, worst than homelander that only care for celebrity and this things. If soldier boy snap, that can happened very soon, he can destroy cities very easy. Soldier boys was already listening voices he is going crazy, and pretty clear if his pride he isn’t going to look for treatment for his ptsd

Since my comment said with Solider Boy "at this point" , I'm assuming they made made a point about who would be better to get rid of right now, Homelander or Soldier Boy. IF that was what I was referring to, then I stand by my original comment. Soldier Boy's motivations are different right now. Drugs and sex from what we are seeing. Killing Homelander first and dealing with Soldier Boy later would be the best strategy at the moment.
There's a fan theory that Stormfront is Homelander's mother, (she can fly and stand up to his laser beams). This makes her obsession with him and Ryan all the more creepy and explains a lot of things. This might be why she was trying to grab Ryan to rise him, he would be her grandson.
Like some people have already said, there is a BIG difference between Homelander and Soldier Boy. Homelander just goes around knowing he's untouchable and has complete disregard for anything and anyone. He knows he's better than everyone else so he doesn't let anyone else dictate his actions. Soldier Boy on the other hand, grew up mostly as a "human." He wasn't "born" with powers and it shows. He honestly is "reasonable" if you think about it. While being equal or almost equal to Homelander in terms of strength, he doesn't use that to force Hughie or Butcher into helping him. He could literally just threaten people but he doesn't. MM attacks him and all he needed to back-off was for Butcher to tell him "no." Annie threatens him and he doesn't do anything and just walks away since Hughie defended him. He even has normal conversations with Hughie and Butcher which I found hilarious since Homelander can't go two seconds without showing why he's above everyone else. In all these instances he could've just pulled a Homelander but he's a lot more passive. I think unlike Homelander, he doesn't see himself as a race above humans. He sees himself as a human that just happens to have superpowers and is content with all the perks it gives him. I'm not excusing his actions nor am I saying he's a good guy but there is a stark difference between the two and Soldier Boy is clearly the better choice. This is actually what I didn't like about this season. Annie and co. were all gunning it for SJ when they really needed to prioritize HL. Soldier Boy can be reasoned with while HL can't. Annie and co. can fuck with SJ after they take down HL but apparently HL wasn't that big of a threat compared to SJ so now we're left with no Maeve and no SJ to help us.

This is another one of my favorite episodes of season 3, Homelanders preoccupation with Soldier Boys return, Butcher relivingsuch a traumatic past memory of his brother's suicide and his guilt over it, explains alot about him ! MMs storyline with his daughter is touching, Kimiko wanting her pieers back was also touching(to protect Frenchie). Maeve holding her ground and the reveal at the end (wasn't really surprising to me!) but was good regardless. Your reactions to The Boys are always highly anticipated, thanks for sharing ! ✌ Almost forgot, the deep and the octopus was sick and hilarious.
Hughie wanted V because of his insecurities. Kimiko wanted her powers back despite hating them, because she went through a traumatic experience and doesn't want to lose the people she cares about (and V won't kill her unlike Hughie) To Kimiko getting her powers back is a necessity that she doesn't want and has had since being a kid so she knows what it's like and the problems that comes with it, so it won't corrupt her. Hughie's just selfish
Hughie is a good person who lost Robin the love on his life, to me he isn’t bother that his girlfriend Anne is a powerful person who can take care of herself he’s just angry that he doesn’t have what it takes to take care of anyone because of how weak he is which inspires insecurity, rage and that sad part is is that it’s true. Homelander could crush Hughie or Anne like bugs, so why not take V to obtain some shred of power to overcome his enemies to finally be prepared to protect the things he loves most so that way they wouldn’t end of like Robin, like Butcher would try to save Becca, or MM protecting his wife and daughter, or Kimiko protecting Frenchie or even Anne protecting Hughie, the hypocrites of some people. Writers creating two scenarios that are the same on the surface level, yet have different details and circumstances to lead to different outcomes happens all the time as a writing tool. Why do you think so many Marvel movies have the hero fighting someone similar to themselves? These two situations aren't even some random, isolated comparison. The core concept of the show is about the acquision and use/abuse of power.
Note the difference that Hughie's need to protect comes from feelings of insecurity, inadequacy, and low self-esteem, while Kimiko's comes from love and a fear of loss.

Hughie is insecure and was tripping on temp V while Kimiko was bleeding out in the back of the car, pathetic. Kimiko was a child soldier that had no choice about getting her power. She has used her power to protect her loved ones as well as just straight up brutalize people, mostly criminals but still people. It affected her mentally, but the important thing is that her powers didn’t make her evil. Hughie literally become a different, and worse, person once he got hooked on temp V.

This episode was epic. Annie standing up to HL, Butcher and Noir trauma trips, and the ending has me FLOORED. Top tier tv.
