Truly finding her sound! 💗 she’s really grown into herself. I LOVE her new album and I play it all the time. Taps into my inner punk and I appreciate that like when you hear glenn danzig say “one last caress” and it makes you wanna do something crazy and there’s this weird strength and excitement all coated with the reality that life is worth appreciating for at least this moment because fuck this song is so good! It’s very stirring. In a good way! Hope that makes sense?? Lots of love! See you all in December

Some people know how to mix Cherry Glazerr properly. Obviously, some do not.
I agree with you it sounds bad and it's actually screwing up the quality of her vocals.
They need to be absolutely compressed, her vocals on albums are compressed to hell. Nothing wrong with that, it sounds great in studio, it really screws you over in live settings though because if the engineer doesnt know thats how your vocals are ran for the most part, then you wont sound consistent at all as a singer.
i imagine they're compressed quite a bit, she's just got wayyyy dynamic vocals, i can't think of anyone who sings as quiet and still wails like a banshee and then back to whispering lol. maybe that gives some defense to the sound guy, i think it sounds great for the most part.
Yeah but that's not a engineering problem, it's bc the way she sings. The audio and mix of kexp is always great

David Bradlee Honestly, I just think people don’t know how to properly mix her vocals. I’ve seen her live and she was really good after a few songs once the sound guy figured it out.

I really dug their unpolished sound on Haxel Princess, their newer material is a little too glossy for me. One of the bands I like better live. Have been going to Cherry Glazerr shows since I saw them play to no one at The Well in DTLA circa 2012

That haxel princess shit blew my mind . Forsure the most refreshing sound I heard that years. This is pretty glossy . It's like the music is a story haxel was a young cute teenager girl and her life went for a spiral and you can hear it in this music

new album is starting to grow on me, like a benign cyst, haha.its a little..slick. having the backup parts via drum triggers is kinda strange for such a footloose and fancy free ensamble, then again, it took me awhile to warm up to London Calling when it first came out sooooo..... have not seen them live since Sasami left or Stuffed came out but looking forward to it hopefully soon, their shows are so fun!

Ah that's a harsh conclusion. It might be that life got in the way for some of the past members/they wanted to work on other projects
If it's her solo project, she might just have different musicians with her at different times simply for live stuff. They have lives too, and probably aren't always available, is simply what might be the case here.
it seems clementine changes musicians every new album. Not necessarily a bad thing, every set sounds unique and great.

Apparently just recently she just joined.
Tabor has been with her for a while now (since 2015) and I do not think he is going anywhere and Sasami is doing her solo career and Sean has his own band too

I think the vocal mix on this is just really bad, her mic needs to be turned up or something, because she sounded amazing to me in their Sirius XMU live performance!

I keep thinking this band should be great, but I always feel somewhat underwhelmed by them. Keep going though, lots of promise.
Studio performances are always underwhelming in a sense. See them live, they are amazing.
