Same here. I was at a neighbor's house. He was a couple years older along with his friends from school. We were getting high and someone put this album on and played stink foot. Remember we use to put the beds on the floor? Well, I was sitting on it listening and I was sooo stoned I laughed so hard and fell onto the floor and couldn't stop laughing. They all kind of laughed at me like I was the young kid who couldn't handle his weed : )

I think I first heard this about 20 years ago as a 12 year old with a Best Of Doctor Demento CD. I had heard of Zappa but that was my first time hearing his tunes. Immediately begged my parents for the first few Mothers albums and have been hooked ever since. Hot Rats will always be my fave but his catalogue is so large, diverse and impressive. This guy truly was a musical genius. RIP Frank

Me too! My first concert was Frank Zappa at The Beacon Theater, NYC... he stopped the concert because a toddler wandered up to the stage and FZ was irate that the parents weren’t even in the theater room (!!). He was very concerned about the child, and just stopped the show and demanded the parents come to the stage... it took them an uncomfortably long time...where he then reprimanded them, in front of EVERYONE 😆🤣👍👍👍. It was really something! I was super impressed with him, as a decent human being, standing up for an abandoned child. Oh, and yeah, I fell in love with his brain & music.

I remember hearing this for the first time when I was in my 20's. (I was stoned.) I think I laughed harder than just about any other time in my life, especially when he said, "And he stood up, and he looked around, and he said, 'I can't see!'... doh doh doh doh dohhhh." Some time later I played it for my mother. I thought it would crack her up. It didn't. When it was over I asked her if she thought it was funny. She said no, she thought it was kind of sad.
    Interesting.

i’m bored to tears in a waiting room and my boy just started goofily singing this. when he was like 6, i sang part of it to him; he’s 9 now, and just burst into it again even tho he’s never actually heard the song. i’m playing it for him right now and he pretty much hates it. hah.
frank was pretty wild and strange, but i just think he was smthng to be marveled at due to his originality, the fact that he could play really well, and being ahead of his time.
as far as song writing goes, i appreciate the experimental aspects of all his stuff, but putting aside the story telling and catchiness-he never really made any music that i really FELT. he wasn’t that kind of song writer, so i’ve never been much of a fan. if i’m wrong somehow, then link me up, cuz i’m eager to hear it.
discovering really old songs i somehow missed over the yrs is the best... lately i’ve been on a sam cooke, old BOWIE, CCR, t. rex, lesser known beatles and pink floyd stuff, + a little fleetwood mac, simon&garfunkel, albert hammond, and moody blues... an oldies kick i guess you could say. some amazing song writing like we’ll never see again. leave me some suggestions, yo
