@@becerra5872 I've heard the colors are definitely acceptable for daily use -- however, if you specialize in color correcting, making art, and/or movies and stuff like that, then you probably shouldn't be looking at TN panel monitors in the first place. Look at VA or even better, IPS monitors if you don't care as much about the lack of responsiveness and input lag that those two inevitably come with.
Awesome review 👏🏼 .. just one question.. do you think this is a good monitor for PS5?.. bc i saw a vid of best monitors for console and this was one option and it caught my attention.. so what do you think?
I am impressed with this monitor, even though it was a trade-off as I couldn't afford the ASUS ROG Swift PG279Q monitor I wanted due to affordability, maybe I can get one of those in the future but this screen is a vast improvement of my old VG278H, with the exception of no 3D support. On top of the required driver and a Pascal or higher GPU requirement to use the G-Sync compatibility, the other requirement is Windows 10, which is problematic for those not happy to leave the Windows 7 ecosystem yet, as well as Linux users. Also the adaptive refresh will only work if the screen is connected to the GPU via the DisplayPort, you can't use the adaptive refresh rate on HDMI or DVI-DL. On this monitor, HDMI also caps to 120Hz (with the HDMI cable that ships with the VG278QR), and DVI-DL caps at 120Hz so DP is needed for full 165Hz too. I also found that on this screen it's best to set G-Sync + Vsync in NCP and use Nvidia Inspector to change the driver Vsync mode from "Standard" to "Adaptive". Fast Sync doesn't work on OpenGL or D3D12 and probably doesn't work on Vulkan and if Fast Sync is paired with G-Sync on this screen then games using these API's will have screen tearing. Fast sync only works on D3D9-D3D11, so ether force adaptive sync in Nvidia inspector globally or use Nvidia Inspector to only have fast sync on games using D3D9-D3D11 and force adaptive sync for all other graphics API's to kill that abhorrent tearing. Using Nvidia Inspector to cap the frame rate will add input lag of at least 2 frames. Using RTSS to cap the frame rate only adds 1 frame of lag. If capping I recommend using RTSS for the FPS cap and Nvidia Inspector for everything else. If your game has it's own FPS cap, use that and disable the FPS cap from any external software for the best experience. I only have an FPS cap on games that run in hyperspeed above 60FPS and everything else, including the global setting, has no FPS cap. Also if the FPS drops below 40FPS the G-Sync will not work. It only covers between 40-165Hz.
many of youtubers just Introduction this monitor and they think they reviewed it...and maybe their video view more than 300k... but this is the real in dept review! this video is a Specialist review of Asus VG278QR! Thank you very much! i just have a little question : is the Asus VG258QR the 24.5 inches of this monitor or its different? because Im looking for a 1080p 24 inch monitor instead of a 1080p 27 inch one! Thank you again.
Wait, why is this cheaper than the vg279? This has better features tho. Now I'm undecided on which one to get lol Edit: VG278Q is TN panel and VG279 is IPS kaya pala mahal haha
Since the resolution of this monitor is still the same as the 25'' do you notice large pixel images? A lot of people suggest not to get a 27'' monitor with low resolution because of the large blurry pixelated screen. 2560X1440p is considered to be the sweet spot for that display.
I think to be honest, it will depend on the quality of the panel as not all 1080p monitors we're made the same as the panels are being bought in batches.. For this particular model, I don't have any issues with pixels even if it's only 1080p at 27 inches.
Esses 4 monitores gamer são da ASUS, qual deles eu compro para games de fps, qual é melhor? MONITOR TUF Gaming VG27VH1B, 27 Polegadas, full hd 165hz 1ms. MONITOR LED TUF Gaming VG279Q1R, 27 polegadas, full hd, IPS, 144hz, 1ms. MONITOR TUF Gaming VG279QR, 27 Polegadas, full hd, IPS, 165hz, 1ms. MONITOR LED, Wide, VG278QR, 27 Polegadas, full hd, 165hz, 0,5ms..
such a good reviewer. the effort u put in for those motion blur image, tearing screen zoom in.. u deserve much attention than those other typical reviewer on budget monitor. hopefully you could find a way to measure the input lag / response lag, not the marketing measure.. but u measure urself, from the mouse click to the response in monitor..then u will be a 9.5/10 reviewer to me. I have one question, ELMB is greyed out. this Is very very important for FPS. does this monitor allow ELMB? does ELMB cause problem? sacrifice too much of picture quality over low motion blur in shooting game? or increase of input lag?
Thank you very much. I didn't focus on the ELMB feature since I personally think it's not better than G-Sync due to the apparent reduction to image quality especially with the brightness. ELMB feature is greyed out when Freesync is enabled because you can only choose one between the two. Unlike the recent ASUS monitor that has the ELMB-Sync which both of them work at the same time.
one big detail missed here..... what about the pixel density of 27 inch monitor in 1080p resolution?! DOES IT STILL SUCK?! Cause it sucked big time in the first place, or they have fixed this?!
Nice video bro, i’ve got one of these on the way, ordered last night (weds) hoping it arrives tomorrow (friday) but should be saturday delivery regardless, upgrading from a 27” 1080p 75hz AOC monitor 😅
Is it REALLY 0.5ms? That’s half of a millisecond. My bf is under the impression that 1ms and 0.1ms is the same thing that would make the response on this monitor 5ms.. I know his wrong, but I just want to make sure that response time on this monitor is half of a millisecond not a whole millisecond before purchase.
my monitor is stuck at 60 hz, how do i overclock it. I currently have it plugged in as digital media in to my gpu. My primary monitor is also digital media plugged into my gpu.
I would like a follow-up review on this monitor. How many dead pixels or popped pixels do you count after actively using it for over a year? Presuming it was actually put to the test...
Hello guys. Is there anyone who uses this monitor with an HDMI cable (it's the only port I have) and it runs 144Hz? I have been looking for a monitor that can support 144Hz with an HDMI cable for a long time, being the only option for me. (I use NVDIA GTX 1660Ti). Thanks!
This is not the case, vsync input delay will appear only when the FPS exceeds the display refresh rate, so you need to set the FPS limit in the game to 160. It is necessary to limit FPS with the help of the game engine, this is important, this restriction gives a minimum input delay, through rivatuner statistics server and nvidia inspector the delay is much longer. ruclips.net/video/L42nx6ubpfg/видео.html
Seems like a decent monitor. I will mostly likely go with this one for my new 3600 2070 super pc. 1440p 144hz is still way too costly (Only a 9900K, 2080ti can get close for it to work.)
Jesus. This is the most detailed and well explained review regarding a monitor i have every seen. Respect.

Can you still OC to 165hz using amd gpu like 5700xt?
You actually don't have to OC it because you can set it to 165hz natively
Esses 4 monitores gamer são da ASUS, qual deles eu compro para games de fps, qual é melhor? MONITOR TUF Gaming VG27VH1B, 27 Polegadas, full hd 165hz 1ms. MONITOR LED TUF Gaming VG279Q1R, 27 polegadas, full hd, IPS, 144hz, 1ms. MONITOR TUF Gaming VG279QR, 27 Polegadas, full hd, IPS, 165hz, 1ms. MONITOR LED, Wide, VG278QR, 27 Polegadas, full hd, 165hz, 0,5ms..
So should you use v-sync and g-sync? If I use v-sync what do optino do I put it to, On or Fast?
Depending on the game, if you can use G-sync without turning on V-sync much better
ShopzadaPH Okay thanks!
Bro you are a BEAST!!!! best review of this monitor so far!
Wait??? 1.4 HDMI port?! That sucks!!!! Why doesn’t it have a 2.0 HDMI port?!
I`PS po ba to?
Great review ..i just bought 3 of these.
How is it so far
such a good reviewer. the effort u put in for those motion blur image, tearing screen zoom in.. u deserve much attention than those other typical reviewer on budget monitor. hopefully you could find a way to measure the input lag / response lag, not the marketing measure.. but u measure urself, from the mouse click to the response in monitor..then u will be a 9.5/10 reviewer to me.
Keep up the good work bro, your reviews are more detailed and useful....You got a sub!!!!
Will this have the .5 response time on a console through a hdmi cable?
I was wondering the same. If a PS4 user would benefit from all these cool specs
one big detail missed here..... what about the pixel density of 27 inch monitor in 1080p resolution?! DOES IT STILL SUCK?! Cause it sucked big time in the first place, or they have fixed this?!
I’m a year late but if it’s g sync can I still use any graphics card I want
an intellectual who Stans twice...imma have to sub
Nice video bro, i’ve got one of these on the way, ordered last night (weds) hoping it arrives tomorrow (friday) but should be saturday delivery regardless, upgrading from a 27” 1080p 75hz AOC monitor 😅
Is it REALLY 0.5ms? That’s half of a millisecond. My bf is under the impression that 1ms and 0.1ms is the same thing that would make the response on this monitor 5ms.. I know his wrong, but I just want to make sure that response time on this monitor is half of a millisecond not a whole millisecond before purchase.
can this monitor work on console to?(ps4 slim)
Anybody know if this monitor supports 120hz gaming on the PS5
Jackson Jeffrey Jones Michelle Williams George
Is this the same one as the 24inch one that is the one i am looking at buying wondering if it would still be worth buying
Yes, basically the same with the VG258QR with minor differences
my monitor is stuck at 60 hz, how do i overclock it. I currently have it plugged in as digital media in to my gpu. My primary monitor is also digital media plugged into my gpu.
Does anyone know if this monitor supports 120hz gaming at 1080p?
Can I use it for my PS4?
I would like a follow-up review on this monitor. How many dead pixels or popped pixels do you count after actively using it for over a year?
Presuming it was actually put to the test...
Mines just took a shit a little after a year, Garbage tbh
At 7:33 did you say "Make sure V-Sync in game is turned Off"? I replayed a few times and still not sure what you said real fast then.
Is it good for consoles too? Or u recommend another one?
João Ponte it’s good on consoles because of the response time. Consoles don’t run over 60fps though
Is the hdmi/display cable that comes with this monitor capped at 60hz?
up to this, wala ng available na xg2405 :(
i have a problem idont get 165 fps iget 60 how can i fix it?
Use dvi port brother
My monitor is 165hz, but in only 120hz runs why? Can someone help me!
After gaming on a 6 year old laptop..i finally ordered a gaming pc with this monitor, Im incredibly hyped :0
can you connect the monitor to the ps4?
thanks for showing the adjustable height and the movements that this monitor is capable of
You are so specific on everything, LOL i was amazed by that. I have to subscribe.
Thank you!
Hello guys. Is there anyone who uses this monitor with an HDMI cable (it's the only port I have) and it runs 144Hz?
I have been looking for a monitor that can support 144Hz with an HDMI cable for a long time, being the only option for me.
(I use NVDIA GTX 1660Ti). Thanks!
I subbed because your review was very well put together and explained very clearly! Thank you!
You didn't mention about the Speaker it self.
I totally forgot about that to be honest, I'm sorry.
It’s trash. I am using it xd
There is No other video as detailed as yours ! Thank you ! Just subscribed
This monitor is different or is the same as the VG248QG?
and do you still think this monitor is worthy on 2022? Is a LCD monitor is it worst than a LED?
turning on vsync means you're using vsync instead of gsync.

Thanx for the review,i just ordered it to go with my recent rtx 2070 super.
Thank you for this awesome informative review.
Seems like a decent monitor. I will mostly likely go with this one for my new 3600 2070 super pc. 1440p 144hz is still way too costly (Only a 9900K, 2080ti can get close for it to work.)
Eero K woowwwww, watching this makes me jelaous, make fun of my geforce gt 420, im out
Same, I got i7 8700k and rtx 2070 super from galax, it's fine by me.
@@BitsEUismynamelilbish Tomorrow i'm getting a i7 9700k with rtx 2060 pc and it's not even supposed to be that good.
DoneWithLife I still have a potato 4gb ram GeForce 420gt, stoner pc
@@BitsEUismynamelilbish not long ago I used to play games on 2003 laptop. Some games dont require too much from the hardware.
