Andy Young Beats had terrible reputation with their products and they can’t erase that in our minds even if they are rumored to be doing better in their previous product lineup. Plus, that price tag doesn’t justify the performance. People with “real standards” can get entry level audiophile headphones from massdrop/drop with that much money.

For 240hz He never mentioned the Acer Nitro XF252Q which is faster than the benq. Better input lag and response time. Rtings reviewed it too
First time i checked my monitor features and i saw 5ms is that good greater no. Right🤔
@@hero9610 I mean it's not terrible but if you want to play multiplayer fps games you basically have to have a 1ms response time monitor but if your just playing story mode games and stuff you should be fine
@@hero9610 madnessman 15 has a point. Though, not necessary unless you're making a point to go pro. That said, personally, I can tell the difference, not night and day, but pretty darn close, between a 12ms TV playing online fps games and a 1ms monitor. Really love being able to see that fluid motion.

I'd love a video that gave a quick breakdown of what to look for in a good monitor. Like difference in 1080p/4K, panel technology, response times, hrz vs ms response time, nits vs cd/m2, flat vs curved, ratio vs wide display vs ultra wide, colour dynamics vs colour bits, ports, and what this all means practically.

Linus makes up for it with quality over quantity though, such as the time he dropped (and broke) the Xeon Platinum 8180. It's hard to compete with dropping a $10,000 CPU.

i only got $4 so i can say i relate
A good computer is far more important than a good monitor. I wouldn't even look at any monitors over 200$ until you have a pc that can do 1440 at 60 fps with max settings on some of the most hardware intensive games of the year. Games normally look better running them at higher settings rather than higher resolutions if given the choice. My monitor is a 99$ staples 1080p 60hz special. I just built a 1500$ PC and it'll run tripple A new games for quite some time with maxed settings at higher resolutions than my monitor will allow. A toaster hooked up to a 4k ultra wide 244hz curved display would not.

The MSI Optix MAG271CQR is another amazing option that can be typically found for around $320 USD. It is 1440p, 144hz, 1ms, VA Panel (great contrast), 1800R curved and in my personal testing out performed many more expensive monitors (including the LG Ultragear feature in this video for $180 less)

I love having a microcenter about 4 miles from my house, there was amazing deals on black Friday. Got g skill 3200mhz 32gig set of ram for 100usd and a ryzen 7 2700x with wraith prism cooler for 129. And it came with a free game of either borderlands 3 or the outer worlds. I didn't have either game so that was awesome.

I'm ready to buy and all 3 of my top picks, Asus VG27AQ, LG GL850-B AND the LG GL83A-B are all out of stock with no restock in sight. I bought a Dell something. It’s 4K. 60Hz. Gets fairly bright. Not HDR and doesn’t have the best color accuracy. But I love it. It was $250 and has a lot of screen real estate. And I’m running it from a laptop through a dock. I’m happy with it

I wish this video would have went out a few weeks earlier. I just bought a MSI Optix MAG271C 27" 144hz curved monitor for $230. At first I hated it and even printed out a return label. After spending several hours tweaking (literally like 3 hours) the settings over a few days I managed to get it where I like it and I'm happy with the purchase. I have been gaming on a 60 FPS TV for the past 10 yrs so this thing was life changing. Games I had put 100s of hours into were like a whole new game at 144Hz, I can never go back. If you buy this DO NOT USE ANY DEFAULT SETTINGS. You have to hook the monitor up to your PC with incl cable and download the MSI software. It takes a lot of patients but was worth it imo. Like I said this is my first 144hz monitor so maybe it's actually trash compared to others out there but I like it a lot for now

I've just got the Acer Nitro 1440p 144hz freesync IPS 27inch and its amazing.
Brothers got the Acer Predator 27 inch IPS and tbh i can hardly tell the difference.
No official support for Gysnc but ticked the option on in the Nvidia control panel and it works a dream.
Would highly recommend.

If you can spend more than $500 but can't go for $1400, I can recommend the Samsung Odyssey G7. I've been using it since September of 2021 and it's been awesome. I think there are a few different models, but the one I have is a 27" flat screen with 4K resolution, 144 Hz refresh rate, 1 ms latency... not super bright though (300 nits) and the HDR on my TV is better, but those aren't big complaints for me. I think it was about $800. I've never used a $2000 monitor, so I can't say how it stacks up against top-tier equipment, but I definitely like it, everything looks nice and clear and crispy. If it matters, it's being driven by an RTX3090

If you go beyond the monitors max refresh rate you will still get screen tear with Freesync on.
monitor has freesync, but camera is off sync, so tearing is possible, but only on video file.

Gravy Grizz I think the dell gaming monitors are so underrated because they don’t have good viewing angles and they look like regular monitors as opposed to the ones with ugly red or ridiculous rgb behind them. I generally like to sit directly in front of my monitor when I’m gaming so neither of those two affect me. Maybe it’s just me. I guess I should try gaming while staring at the red accents or rgb on back, or maybe turning my monitors sideways for that “sweetsop viewing angle “ 🤷🏻♀️. Maybe I’ll suddenly go pro?
@@Little_Bitz idk, I think that viewing angle is kinda irrelevant considering you sit in front of the monitor anyways. It gets really good colors and the refresh rate is soooo nice compared to 60hz
I had to scroll too far to find the Dell recommendations. I've had an S2716DG and S2417DG (I dig the asymmetry) and they are fantastic. It started a chain reaction of my friends purchasing that model or the dgf variant and none of them are disappointed. In fact, two friends just bought dgf's last night from our Micro Center for $290 a pop. Don't sleep on the Dell gaming monitors, people!

Aw3418dw goes on sale for $600 often, it's 3440x1440p (100hz but overclockable to-)120hz IPS with hardware gsync. LTT somehow missed it in their review.

I have a decent ASUS gaming monitor I got a few years back, a PB248Q, which was among the first couple generations of monitor with 144hz refresh. THEN one day I decided my sofa was more comfortable than my PC station. I'm now playing on a 42" TV that cost less than my 24" monitor.....of course image quality is wildly different, but I'm so used to it now I don't even notice. That said, if I could get my money back and pour that into a new TV, I'd do it in a heartbeat!

@@dreed100 thanks buddy! it's still unlikely that anything breaks but I meant just more likely. Monitors to me are just big hit-boxes waiting to be struck by anything that happened to be flung their way. Also backlight issues are very common.

The one I have my eye on at Micro Center didn't make the list. 🥺 It's the MSi Optix MAG241CP, an update of the 241C with a height-adjustable base. Reviews seem to be virtually non-existent, so any info about that particular model would be appreciated.
It's a ok monitor that do the job for it's price range, a friend has one for his first PC setup he just completed, the brightness are lowish depending on you, but the overall experience of it to him is good he's not a color accurate by the pixel snob nor use it for any type of artistic work (cause it isn't that good) simply gaming and streaming content is useable.
It's a decent monitor but there are certainly much better options out there.
I picked up the msi optix mag341cq and my god it is the best bang for buck I've ever spent. Got it from Microcenter for $317. Gaming on it is beautiful, watching movies is not...If you have a TV and only want to game on a cheap monitor, get the msi. Also, it is listed as a free sync to g-sync compatible monitor.

still rocking my Acer GN246HL 1080p 144hz i paid $116 from acer refurbished 2 years ago.
@@jaggsta just got my girlfriend a 27" specter 1080p 75hz for $99. It's just a second monitor for her computer not for gaming so she doesn't need 144hz. Hopefully this one is just as good of quality as the other specter. I got it because it has built in speakers too for only $99
After the first THREE? You've gone too far mate. In my country, anything more than 24" 1080p 60hz monitors has high price.
More saturated colours actually appear darker not brighter, the reverse of this is the "luminance" which is the brightness of a colour, that will increase saturation as you decrease it.

The day this video came out, I purchased a 27" LG GL63T for $200. It's extremely similar to the GL 850, boasting G-Sync and 144Hz. Definitely recommend for the price I paid
But there is an Alienware 240 hz ips monitor with “1ms” response time.... that supposed to be the first 240 ips monitor

I got the Acer Predator 2k 165Hz 27'' 1ms just last month and I don't regret it. Even tho it didn't made your list here.

I'm surprised he didn't mention the new Pixio PX7 Prime. It's a very good 144 to 165hz IPS panel with an improved stand over previous Pixios, FreeSync, good brightness, and response rates, and is only $380. Compared to the LG 850, it's slightly better in some ways, slightly worse in others, but it's $120 less and easier to find! Both are on RTINGS, so it's worth checking out before you go for the 850.

The monitor at 2:24 is really good I just got it at microcenter for 180 bucks and I love it. The brightness is just fine I don't see what linus is talking about, and I would pay 500 bucks easy for this monitor.
