In the video the wife dies, hence the tomb stones. I think the homelessness and possible addiction struggles happened because he had trouble dealing with life without her. I think he burns the photos because he realizes it's time to let go and make different choices moving forward. This is an amazing song and Sebastian Bach killed it.
I agree. Great synopsis.
Well said 👏
I never thought that she had died. I always thought that she had left him. Why would he get rid of her pictures if she died? He would if he was moving on if she left him.
@@pcouto19 She will always be in his memories but staring at her pictures keeps it too fresh and distracts from the here and now.
You hit it right on the head. That is what the song is about.
Sebastián Bach has one of the best voices in rock.
And Tom kiefer - before his throat issues - but I still go see him
@@andreadeamon6419 and Mark Slaughter.
Steve Perry will always be the one for me
And he's very handsome!
Skid row is a staple of the 80's. 18 and life is a must. Youth gone wils, wasted time.....all classics that i listen to all the time still 40 years later
18 and Life!!! Amazing vocals. Sebastian has become one of the most incredible vocals of our time!
Yes Wasted time is a great song and great meaning
First album dropped in 1989. Not exactly a staple of the 80's.
Sebastian Bach not only had an absolutely amazing voice but that hair was to die for back in the day! All us girls were jealous of his beautiful hair. He still has great hair! Go down the rabbit hole because his voice is outstanding!
He was pretty easy on the eyes too girls let's face it😂❤
Sebastian Bach has one of the best voices ever! I saw him 2 years ago and he still has the pipes!
I just saw him over the summer...still an amazing voice!
80s Rock/Hair Metal is a rabbit hole you will thoroughly enjoy.🔥🔥🔥🔥 reaction! 18 and Life should be your next Skid Row reaction if you choose to do so
Yes, to everything by 80s hairbands!! 🙌 We have BP going down the same rabbithole!! 😁❤
not many of us still have our hair
Yeah except BP is clueless & can’t get out of the rap frame of mind long enough to consider and explore other genres.🙄
@user-gc1cp1xp5i He's been doing nothing but other genres, and he's loving it!
Cliff, Skid Row is another one of those bands that the younger generation doesn't know but the minute they hear them they'll never forget them. Their songs can easily trigger your emotions in exactly the way they want to ... it's a true gift. Wasted Time, In A Darkened Room, Quicksand Jesus, Youth Gone Wild, 18 and Life and so many others in their catalog are as good today as they were the day they were released ... truly timeless songs. As a matter of fact, Sebastien Bach, the lead singer just released a new solo album recently and he hasn't lost a step. He's a true triple threat, a hard rock/metal singer, a Broadway performer and an actor.
From Skid Row it's 18 and Life, Wasted Time, Youth Gone Wild.
My brain is a jumbled jukebox and these are just a small sampling of the well known, but it's what I'm working with ~>~>~> 60s/70s/80s/90s Def Leppard (Photograph, Rock Of Ages, Hysteria), Cinderella (Don't Know What You've Got {Til It's Gone}), Slaughter (Up All Night Sleep All Day, Fly To The Angels) Tesla (Signs), Poison (Ain't Nothing But A Good Time, Something To Believe In, Unskinny Bop), Motley Crue (Smokin' In The Boys Room, Dr. Feelgood, Home Sweet Home), Cheap Trick (Don't Be Cruel, The Flame), Jefferson Airplane/Jefferson Starship/Starship, Joan Jett (I Hate Myself For Loving You, Crimson & Clover ~no it's never going to be as great as Tommy James because that's the original~), Lita Ford (Close My Eyes Forever with Ozzy... she is a spectacular guitarist) Pat Benatar (love Is A Battlefield, Hit Me), Cyndi Lauper (Time After Time, True Colors, Good Enough For Me)
Yes - and in that order (for Skid Row)!
@@scottNNJ 44+ years of music rattling in my skull, that I was alive for, it's more if you count the music from before 1978. I was writing that as an ugly migraine started, so I'm surprised it's intelligible, I wasn't sure if the recs he wanted were in the same vein as Skid Row, or just a time period....I just did music that popped in my 'database'. I do better when someone asks me specific bands 😂.
Awesome list.
@@beachbunnie5413 thank you, my brain is weird 🤨.
We have very similar tastes 😉 that's a list of awesomeness I'd add Def Leppard- Pour some sugar on me, Poison- Every Rose has its thorn
MUST react to WASTED TIME!!! It was written by Sebastian about his friend Steve Adler former drummer of Guns and Roses. He was addicted to heroin really bad and got fired from the band.
OMG I loved this song as a kid. I forgot the video. Now watching this as a widow, it hits so differently. Yes, losing your person can shatter your life and completely destroy you. If I didn't have our 5 children counting on me, I don't think I'd even be standing. At the end, the memories were drowning him so he had to let go or die with her. I will always hold every memory with a firm grip, but I have known other widows who had to get rid of every memory because they were bringing them closer to suicide than to living.
This is a very relatable reality for many, unfortunately.
Me too…🕊️first time hearing it after my husband’s death. Changed my whole view of the song.
Most talented vocalist of all of the 80’s hair metal bands. The ability this dude has is insane. Need to check out Wasted Time.
100%. Imo his voice is THE voice of 80s rock. 🤘🤘🤘
Oh...the memories!!! 😢
The singer, Sebastian Bach, later was the lead in a couple Broadway shows & killed it. His voice is incredible. He's still performing & has a new album out! It totally rocks.
There are so many. Foreigner, Ski Row, Def Leapord, Europe, Guns and Roses , Ratt, Winger, Poison just to start
Love this song you listen to Cinderella don’t know what you got
Saw them in concert.
He remembers when life was love.. but now he's on skid row and there's no love to be found there, so he remembers her.
Ya, Sebastian's vocal skills continue to give me goosebumps.. he still has the pipes. xo
One of three prettiest singers from his time
Were the other two Nelson? :)
Very "pretty" features for a man. Kinda the same way as Rob Lowe.
18 to life is also good from them
I was so in love with Sebastian Bach back in the day. You should do 18 and Life next. You wanna talk about heartbreaking.
I absolutely love Skid row. 18 and life and youth gone wild are must listen.
This song was huge when it came out. 😊
In the falling in Reverse video for “Watch the World Burn” the lead singer Sebastian Bach is who the laptops fell on. The guy in the video actually looks quite a bit like Sebastian 😂 They had a Twitter feud because Sebastian criticized Ronnie when they cancelled a show because of missing laptop.
Love Skid Row ❤
I remember that
I just saw Sebastian at a fundraiser over Memorial Day Weekend! He still sounds great & his crowdwork is top shelf. His 11yr old stepson Trace came out & played guitar on “Youth Gone Wild.” Keep an eye on that kid!
Sebastian has a reputation for being a real 🍆 but really he’s just a bad drunk (we all have that one friend). He seems to have conquered that demon, & still has quite a few good years ahead of him. He took care of his voice, unlike so many other vocalists of that era, like Axl Rose & Vince Neil.
If you get a chance to see him live, I highly recommend it! Just a great frontman with an amazing voice. Unpretentious & doing it for the love of music. Fun, fun, FUN!!! 🤘🏼
SkidRow, "18 and Life", is heavy, but not as heavy as " Wasted Time," is especially heavy when you find out that it is about Sebastián Bach watching his friend, Steven Adler, Guns and Roses first drummer, fall into the throes of Heroin Addiction, and waste his dream, life and relationships and his friends being powerless to stop it.
Sebastian Bach is my favorite rock voice. Please listen to more Skid Row or even some of Baz's solo stuff. He actually recently dropped a new album and did an appearance on The Masked Singer. Our first introduction to Skid Row was "Youth Gone Wild" followed up by "18 and Life". For his solo stuff I really love "Love is a Bitchslap".
My favorite voice as well. Fucking iconic…
More than a handful of opera singers have reacted to Sebastian and been impressed by his range, and breath control. Dude has a voice.
This is a classic
More, please! Yes, please! Wasted Time (official video) by Skid Row will make you pee your pants 😂
One of the greatest rock voices of all time. When I think real rock this voice is the one that pops in my brain. 🤘🤘🤘
My very First concert Was in 1988 and Skid Row open up for Bon Jovi.. great memories!!
His beloved died and he kept his vow to love only her for the rest of his life.
As a songwriter you would probably appreciate “Wasted Time” by them. It’s a tearjerker and Sebastian’s vocals are amazing.
Sebastian Bachs vocals are priceless! During the 80s metal scene skidrow came out swinging. 18 & Life , Youth gone wild and obviously I remember you. Cemented their spot in the hair band, glam metal, heavy metal scene.
Skid Row is amazing and Sebastians voice is insane. 18 & LIfe, Wasted Life, Monkey Business, and pretty much anything else. The pictures being burned is because he realized after all the horrible (she died, he got addicted and ended up homeless) there is a time to move on and let the pain go. At least that was always my thought.
You need to do skid road 18ten in life
18 and life next a must, by skid row
I have listened to this song thousands of times and never felt it the way you took me thanks great reaction!
Love this band!
Hey, please listen to the Band "Cinderella" " Don't Know What You Got" great song to expand your genre 😊 love love your reactions! ❤❤
I believe this is an 80s power ballad...
Wasted Time by Skid Row is a must see and listen. Sebastian shows his range so much in that song
Sebastian's vocals were untouchable in his heyday.
Check out:
Youth Gone Wild
18 & life
Monkey Business
18 and life! Great reaction to a great song. Peace out ✌️☮️🙏
I was a young teen and remember loving this song and band. Such a banger.
Cliff, my brother.... you can NOT go wrong with early Skid Rom with Sebastian Bach!!! Do all of their stuff that you can find! Trust me on this! You will never be disappointed!!
This is one of my favorite songs. 😢 18&Life too. Try the band Live! "I alone".
I just remember 12 year old me singing this at the top of my lungs like I went through the same traumatic experience lol. This entire album is so damn good, but I think 18 and life is another you must listen to ❤
Good on you for expanding the channel to include other genres of music. I love rock and hip hop. Slid Row has a banger in Youth Gone Wild!
Check out Tesla- Love Song and Signs. Or Steelheart- She's gone
This song is about love lost, no matter how. It is about choosing to remember the good days after loss of a relationship.
Love Sabastian Bach! ❤ Definitely check out 18 and Life next!!! 🤩🤞🏼
A++. Best power ballad on the whole planet
Skid row had some good tunes 🔥♥️
great band seen them a few times
So glad to see you starting to "break the walls" of your box!! Good music is just GOOD MUSIC...no matter its' "box"!!! Sebastion Bach's vocals in this one...OH, MY!! SO many boxes...so little time!! ❤❤❤
Love this song listened to alot of skid row when i was younger.
This song has been one of my favorites for a long time but missed the depth of it until now.
18 and life next skid row!
Great song great reaction do 18 and life skid row hell yeah
The song was inspired by Bach’s relationship with a girl he had met while performing in a bar in Tampa, Florida. Bach and the girl had a brief but intense romance, but she had to leave him to go back to her hometown. Bach was heartbroken and wrote the song as a tribute to their relationship.
I do show them love , the lead singer is absolutely gorgeous,I have that song on 3 different devices n many different play list ,n thank you for all u do, if it wasn't for you A lot of people wouldn't even know about the song and many others god bless 😘🥰
I think you interpreted it perfectly, I felt exactly the same way.
I love this song. Another great ballad in my opinion is Extreme~More Than Words
crazy this just came up on my playlist the other day but I've heard the song before, love it. Sebastian Bach killed the vocals and the guitar solo was sick
Cliff, big hair and lots of hair spray LMAO! There's so much to explore.
Steelheart I’ll never let you go
That was fun, brother!
Sebastian your voice is Heavenly 😊❤
other awesome bands, Queensryche, Pearl Jam, Mother Love Bone.. Andrew Woods voice is amazingly haunting!
The whole album is top notch!!
I grew up on this!!
Cliff i loved this reaction, honestly i think you'd really like the song Wasted Time, by Skid Row that song is about Steven Adler the original drummer for Guns and Roses, and his out-of-control heroin addiction. It's a very moving and heart-felt song to his friend, also the horse in the video was another name for heroin back in the day
I grew up listening to Skid Row, Motley Crue, Poison etc... Watching it now brought me to tears.
Just like you I didn't know the actual meaning. Was always just a jamming power ballad.
Now 42 married, if I lost my wife I've told her I'd be the same. In love and lost in a life without her. Not something I'm willing to be a part of.
Now to do 18 and Life haha.
80's: Def "Welcome to the Jungle" by Guns n Roses. For a different genre with great storytelling: Classic Country. I would go "The Gambler" by Kenny Rogers and "El Paso" by Marty Robbins.
If you'd like to hear more Skid Row songs, try "18 and Life", "Sweet Little Sister" or "Youth Gone Wild." So cool that you're expanding into other genres...80s metal bands of all kinds are the best!!
He has the best rock voice ever
That moment it hit hard when you grab at your chest, I felt that. Glad your algorithm has been picking up.
Ooooh if you are going down this type of road, please react to Hoobastank's song called The Reason 🤘
#SkidRow 🔥🔥🔥
Amazing voice
I seen them a few years ago with a singer named Tony Darnell, I think, he did really good...That same night Sebastion was doing a concert in Australia, I was bumbed lol but, loved it...was about 20 feet from stage by Snake and we fing jammed all night...was awesome.
posters all over my BR walls in the 80"s......
For another awesome power ballad, check out Steelheart. Try their hit "I'll Never Let You Go"
Oh man seb was so good
Epic 🔥
Grew up in this era. The artists from this era are among the last of the true instrumentalists. These guys could sing songs with nothing but their strings, keys and percussions and you would still know the words.
Easily one of the best voices ever, and the band was rock solid!
Next album is a little heavier..or a lot. SB is an awesome vocalist. Do "Wasted Time" for some vocal ability. "Monkey Business, Slave to the Grind" for something heavier.
Seb had a serious set of pipes. These guys came on the scene in the late 80’s and blew everyone away.
This was awesome. I don't think there's a closed end full story. What you said is what I've thought too but there's a lot of side streets the story can go down. IMO of course
HIGHLY recommend their song 18 and Life.
The version of this song in England at Wembley LIVE is even better.
You're correct the main character's wife died.
Its the voice !!
If you are amazed by Sebastian vocal performance… you ain’t see nothing yet. 18&Life is a must and the cherry on the cake: Wasted Time…. You’ll be blown away
Love Skid Row. I highly suggest 18 and life. Another ballad but so good. Your reactions are always fantastic:)
Legendary song bro. Great reaction
Can’t beat all that good music that came out of those decades huh!?! Skid Row isn’t really one of my most favorite bands but I do love this song. Pretty much anything that came out of the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s is full of pure, raw, iconic talent. Not sure when this one came out but Sebastian killed it! Music is the universal language of love and I can respect anyone who’s brave enough and honest enough to step into the limelight and provide the world with some love. ✌🏻💜
Something you need to know is that music videos were not always matching what the lyrics said back then. This video did show him burning the pictures at the end in my opinion he was finally moving on after her death. But many videos especially in the 80s show images of things that had nothing to do with the song and I don't know why, but that's just how it was back then.
From that era, my interpretation was burning the photos in letting go. Unfortunately in my battle with depression it meant suicide. Luckily I rebounded and learned to cope.
This is a great song. It reminds me of losing my best friend and fiance after we lost a kid twice . She caught some kind of cancer, couldn't be treated then she left me to move to Oregon, and i found out she did assisted suicide
Rabbit hole incoming! If you want to hear what Sebastian can really do vocally, then Wasted Time is recommended. Also really recommended Quicksand Jesus and Light in a Darkened room.
Just In A Darkened Room, not light in...
Skid Row "18 & Life" is another classic...oh yeah, "I'm Back" MMLP Karen reaction
