Thanks for this video, picking up our pup next week and I’m having 10 full days with him then my wife and kids will be with him for 7 weeks before spending anytime home alone! Do you recommend leaving him at times during first few weeks so it doesn’t feel so strange when we do leave him alone?
Great information and very helpful. We are planning to get a 8 week old female rodwiller + German shepherd pointer mix breed puppy soon .Please suggest us few links on training them as it will be a indoor pup and toilet training will be done in my backyard . We are very anxious and super excited. Cheers
Thanks so much for the video!! Much appreciated! My 9 week old rotti growls when I pick him while eating grass, and sometimes just when I pick him up. Is this normal, should I reprimand or just ignore? Appreciate any insight! Thanks
Good question. My suggestion would be to prevent the growling from happening in the first place. In other words, you can try calling it over when it is eating grass and you want to pick it up. Do this by holding a smelly treat in front of its nose. When it comes to you give it the treat and pick it up when it is done finishing the treat. It probably already forgot about the grass it was eating. Let me know if this works. Good luck.
Thanks so much for the reply and info! Still having issues he doesint seem to care about what i have more then just being bothered by being stopped chewing and picked up. Do you reccommend a stern no or to ignore?
@@brianmehlmen9396 ignoring biting is often impossible because it hurts as puppy teeth are pretty sharp. Of course you can use a 'no' any now and then but still my advice would be to try to prevent these confrontations from happening in the first place. Try using really smelly treats, toys, whatever your puppy really likes to distract it. Maybe even taking him for a walk so he forget about what he was doing.
Good question. Try to keep things as boring as possible. Just let it pee or poop outside and then immediately go back in. Just guide your puppy back in its dog crate with a nice treat. If you have your dog crate next to your bed you can keep your hand close to the crate to create peace of mind of your puppy.
Yes, that's a challenge. In one of my books (amzn.to/3kQahj6) we advise people to not let a dog alone for longer than 5 hours. If you do want to leave your dog alone for longer than 5 hours you can find help. Maybe a family member or hire someone to walk your dog? It's more difficult with a puppy though since most puppies can't hold their bladder for 5-6 hours. Good luck!
Great Video .. thanks.... my rott puppy is 8 weeks old .... if i put her in the crate ,.... she poops / pees immediately .... what do i do ... other wise when she running about at home most often she walks to the loo or balcony to pee /poop
Nice to hear you enjoyed the video. I suggest you follow the 12 steps I lay out in this video: ruclips.net/video/-0LtFF3FGkA/видео.html. Let me know if this works or not. Good luck
Hello pls get back to me my Rottweiler puppy is 5 to 6 weeks old and she kept on potty and pee inside she doesnt like to poo or pee outside what should i do pls get back
I have a question 🙋♀️ I have a female rottie pup that has been with me since March 17th and I do work and also have a yorkie that is 1 yrs old now. I ask my 15 year old to keep a eye on my rottie pup but she has the yorkie she deals with and don’t want to take on the responsibility of my puppy so when I get off work there is poop 💩 all over and I’m losing my patience with her. I know it’s not her fault but having to work 7-8 hours and can’t get a break when I get home is overwhelming for me. We also live in a neighborhood where we know no one so what can I do? Any tips would be appreciated
@@gaganhayer6530 my advice would be to put a box filled with sand or grass on it, to teach your pup that it should actually poop and pee on sand or grass. Another good idea is placing a cat box filled with sand or cat litter for your puppy to do its business on. Keep in mind, though, that whenever your puppy pees or poops out in the garden, that means you were too late to take it out onto the street. Learn from these moments, training yourself to take your puppy outside sooner next time, so it can answer nature’s call where it should. If you're planning to allow your dog later in live to pee and poop in your garden then you can continue doing so. Good luck!
@@gaganhayer6530 I don't think your garden will smell like roses when your dog pees and poops there, haha. Depends on how big your garden is of course and where your dog pees and poops in it. Long story short; don't let your puppy in the garden when it didn't pee outside beforehand. Good luck!
Good one man! I really like this video!! It helped me!!
