Hello my name is Chase, and since I was 3 I wanted a dog. I live with my Grandma and Mom and until now have never had a dog. For about 4 years have been doing research trying to convince my Grandma to let me have a dog and now finally I’m 14 years old and getting my first dog. Also for about 4 years have been wanting to be a dog trainer I love teaching my friends dogs new tricks and learning how to communicate with these amazing animals. It also helps that I’m homeschooled so I will be around all the time. Thank you for making amazing videos, hope to meet you one day dog trainer to dog trainer.
I appreciate this video. My step-father brought home a 13 week old male rottie a few years ago, My sister & I took on training him and things were going very well. He would get kind of pushy as he got older but we had corrected it enough times, he grew out of being a jerk. He was our little 'brother'. He'd even protect our cats from everything. Even the glare from our glass doors lol. Fast forward, I moved out, my sister isn't home often and my parents spoiled and 'de-trained' him. They reward him when he does bad. When he shows aggression? he is praised, when he grabs something thats not his? he is given a treat- HE challenges everyone and isn't a worst case scenario but It hurt and made me angry to see my efforts all for nothing. I love him still, but I can continually retrain him, I correct him when I am home and he listens but it's like when I or my sister leave the room he becomes a jerk-- Thing is; I can't train my parents. Rottweilers are so majestic, it just takes a moron to screw it up.

I've been watching your videos for months now in preparation for my 10 week old rottiexshepherd - this video made me feel better about his occasionally reactional behavior within two minutes. It's very random that he reacts to things he can be tolerant of two seconds beforehand, and he's so smart, I thought he was just also a little crazy 😅
Nice vid. You can also hold him up in the air until he stops squirming on his own and then give him a treat. Do it until he realises that fighting is not rewarding.
TNR Thank you that's a great idea ! When I got my 2 month old male German Shepherd pup he would act just like this ONE does!! He's 4 months old now and he's still biting, nipping, jumping on people! I work with him every day and he is getting better.

Zak I like it how you don’t edit out the bits where you get bitten because it makes you look like you don’t know what ur doing but the fact that he bites you and you keep it in the video makes you look like you know wat ur doing
My Rottweiler was sometimes like that as a puppy but we corrected her biting behavior and she turned out a calm adult. They need a lot of chew toys and running around/exercise as puppies to release their energy. IMO it's not the easiest dog to bring up and deffinitely needs training.
I'm a beginner dog trainer and recently got a new client who has a high energy pitty puppy and I've gotten used to older dogs so I'm using his vids to get new ideas and skills on helping the owner with her puppy. I might possibly post vids with the owners permission of course.
Cesar Millan is the BEST dog behaviourist. He uses a mix of positive and negative reinforcement, and although he does use dominance, the funny thing is.. it works! And it saves lives!! He works with much more extreme cases than Zak George and other dog "trainers" and he never gives up on a dog. Where's all your hate coming from? Cesar doesnt hurt the dogs, watch his TV programme and read his books, research him if you have to but if he "kicks" a dog it's a tap on it's side that happens to be with his foot. He can't tap the dog with his hand because he could get bitten. These dogs would be killed if it wasn't for Cesar. He saves many many lives and is very good and effective at what he does. I like positive reinforcement but when dealing with an aggressive dog, i believe that you should correct bad behaviour too, and then you can reward the good behaviour. Cesar Millan is my favourite by far, and he is my inspiration. Victoria Stillwell's ideas are good however i have seen that she gives up on dogs if her positive reinforcement doesn't work. She recommended a spaniel was put down because her positive work didn't work after 6 weeks. She prescribed a load of drugs to a dog she'd met once for a few minutes before she'd even tried any methods of training. (I have links to videos if you need proof) However, some of her methods are okay. Zak George is good with his positive reinforcement & he has very good and usually effective ideas. However, I've never seen him work with a case as serious as Cesar Millan's. He trains with basic obedience, puppy training, pulling on the lead and barking etc. Not with dogs that have bitten people badly or got in lots of fights with other dogs. Or dogs that are doing to be put down. We need Cesar Millan to help with those serious cases, so why would people go against him? He saves lives. Lives that have been ruined most likely by uneducated people.
Zak I have an 9 week old Blue Heeler puppy Winston. Winston knows how to sit, but he is so rough; biting, growling, and snapping that I can't get him to focus on me or the treats. I taught him to fetch just so I could get him focused on the toy I'm throwing, so I can get him away for a second! He is GREAT at fetch! I have bite marks everywhere, even my face cause he lunges. I have been watching your videos, and have tried them, but I get so frustrated cause his bites are not just play biting, they break skin and draw blood. I love my dog and want him to behave and not bite. When I walk to another room he follows and bites my feet or legs. When I set his food down he lunges, I am almost afraid of him when he gets this way. I have tried putting him in another room to let him calm down, but he barks and whines for 15-20 minutes. I don't want to let him out when he is barking or whining cause it would let him know to bark or whine to get what he wants. When he finally settles down, I let him out, play with him and try training again when he is calm, but it takes 2 minutes and he is wound up again! I have got to be doing something wrong, and I don't want to be afraid of him. My youngest daughter (12) won't even play with him anymore. I have had experience training puppies, I have had two Sheltie pups over my life time and I didn't have any problems training them. What can I do? Please help! Update: I started over in training after watching your first few videos. And what do you know...it's working. Before I didn't have a harness on him or leash cause we are in the house. I put a harness on him and it was night and day difference! He wasn't wild and just a little play biting. I worked with "sit" and "look at me". He know and loves tug of war, but he wouldn't play. He just wanted to lay in my lap or beside me and chew on his rope toy. I am so thankful to you for your videos and I'm going to buy your book, crate, and leash today. I am a truck driver and drive in the mid-western states and Winston is with me. I do have a problem with Winston sitting under or next to me driver seat by the door, which could be dangerous for him (it is an air-ride seat, it moves up and down with the bumps and motions of the truck and if I open the door and he is there, he falls out of the truck. It is scary for me, I don't want him to get hurt. Do you have any suggestions?
He is so cute and so restless.I have 2 rottweilers and they were very restless, but now after I train them they are very good, they are very intelligent.
This just makes me want my rottie to grow up already, I have a 8 weeks old puppy and he is so annoying, he just tries to eat everything on the ground outside and bites everything inside the house
@@shonkoren3773 dogs don't naturally grow out of bad habits. They only improve with a lot of good training, and since you clicked on this video I can also assume that's what you're doing. Keep up with the training ^^
I might get 1 in January and I’m honestly so excited!!! I’m trying to learn this because I don’t want it to be aggressive so imma learn as much as possible
I have 3 rottweilers and I've trained them all from watching your video's. Rottweilers are such amazing dogs but I am disappointed to see one with a docked tail. They're such smart and loyal dogs🐶❤️
8 week old puppys aren't "aggressive". every litter has a high energy pup or two along with some mellowed ones . he is a puppy who play bites because a ton of toys are being tossed in front of his face.
Huh. I LOVED watching Zak work with this puppy - but also, wow: That pup looks like he's going to need hard work if he's going to end up happy, sweet-tempered and dependable. Wouldn't his reaction to being pet and handled be something of a red flag, at least for someone looking for an easy-to-rear family mut? (BTW I don't mean Rotties generally but this particular critter.)
I agree. Regardless of breed, any reputable dog breeder will make sure their puppies are comfortable with being touched and handled by people, before they go home :/ luckily, this one is still young so he can still be socialized
Yeah. Since he will most likely grow up to be huge, he needs to learn to be 'obedient' and quick to listen otherwise he will grow up to injure someone (whether voluntarily or involuntarily)
I have Lucy-fur...a Rottweiler pup....she did the same thing until she was a little older..we re-directed like crazy...it worked. We are almost blood free now!

Love this!! I just got a Rottie 8 weeks old & he loves to bite. I’m gonna try some of these tips
The best breed ever....just saying... if you've had the fortune to had one in your life!, you'll understand!
Learnt so much about how to train my hyperactive Borador. Would love some more live streams Zak!
He is so cute and so restless.I have 2 rottweilers and they were very restless, but now after I train them they are very good, they are very intelligent.
Zak, do you think you could do an advanced series?
Getting a border collie puppy in December and this video is giving me more confidence! Thanks, Zac!
This makes me miss my rottie as a puppy... now he’s a big puppy 😂😂😂
You're getting this puppy crazy, just like you.
Rude puppy... turning into a exhausted puppy xD
PS: nice tips Zak!
thanks for the suggestions😊😊😊
1:03 That look on him when he lost that toy😂😂
I might get 1 in January and I’m honestly so excited!!! I’m trying to learn this because I don’t want it to be aggressive so imma learn as much as possible
The dog is so cute! You are so good at training 🐶!
I have 3 rottweilers and I've trained them all from watching your video's. Rottweilers are such amazing dogs but I am disappointed to see one with a docked tail. They're such smart and loyal dogs🐶❤️
I love Rottweiler and I also bought a new Rottweiler puppy after seeing this
Omg what an adorable chunk!
1:41 be ciivilized oh man i died
I'm so thankful tht I stumbled upon your video. Particularly this video! My puppy is behaving exactly like ty. So grateful 🙏 ❤
Finally Rottweiler!!wow
I'm soo thankful my pug baby is soo chill
This is a very aggressive demon pup. My rottie was very gentle at that age.
8 week old puppys aren't "aggressive". every litter has a high energy pup or two along with some mellowed ones . he is a puppy who play bites because a ton of toys are being tossed in front of his face.
Hi i just got a new rottweiler.. he's 2months old. He is also like that.. aggressive and bites.. hope ur vids will help me train him 😊
This is such a helpful video, thank you!
Thanks Kate!
it may look its right but what his doing in the vid it just aint
his forcing the rott to not get the toy
To all your videos... Past Present and Future thank you
This puppy is actually a great puppy. It will grow up to be a great dog without needing any more extra training than usual
Yeah. Since he will most likely grow up to be huge, he needs to learn to be 'obedient' and quick to listen otherwise he will grow up to injure someone (whether voluntarily or involuntarily)
This puppy is very active. Wow!!!
“What’s in this Bark Box is way more interesting than my flesh” LMAOO😂
Your charisma cracks me up!
Rottweiler puppy’s are so cute!😍😍😍
I have Lucy-fur...a Rottweiler pup....she did the same thing until she was a little older..we re-directed like crazy...it worked. We are almost blood free now!
Zak George logic... dog wants to take over the world then teach him to sit
What an adorable little terror!
Zak! Can you make a video on Food Aggression/Protectiveness.
