My other dog played along and he became intrigued - now its a daily part of our routine - about 3 times a day we do the shell game and the muffin tin game. My dog died yesterday. He took his last meal from my hand and died in front of my eyes, I saw him taking his last breath. We were together for 7 years. I hope his journey takes him somewhere safer and better place than before. I love you bravo, my friend and brother ❤️.

My friends had a dog that was very familiar with me and hubby. One time we went over and he completely ignored my husband, ran to me and start smelling my crotch (Which he had never done) he kept following me being clingy, next day I found out I was pregnant! Dogs are amazing
Same thing happened to my kids mom. We kept telling him to get down or stop but found out by looking it up and when I seen the pregnant part I instantly started thinking. Sure enough she was pregnant. Kinda weird but they tell us alot. Especially people they don't like. Not long after that person does something suspect that makes you not trust them. My dog saddie absolutely hated a friend of mine back then and he ended up breaking in one day I was at work and she bit him. Only dogs can tell you things u can't see. Me personally I think they are smarter than cats. Only thing cats are good for is not pooping and peeing in the house. From birth they sense the litter box is their toilet. I don't really see why people have cats. Other than getting mice out of the house what are they good for.
My dog Holly is super protective and clingy to me. I stay at my grandma's and walk home every day. Holly sleeps on the porch, and when I walk home, she stays at my heels and sniffs at everything, and makes sure I get home safe before going back. Its so sweet.

I'd argue they understand tones more so than the words, though there are exceptions to this, like their names. A harsh voice gets across displeasure rather than a laughing one. You could probably say "No" all happily and they wouldn't understand, but apply that harsh filter and they do.

My dog does both, depending on the mood he's in and the mood I'm in, he either shows his belly to avoid confrontation or just because he wants his belly rubbed.
I feel lucky being liked by dogs. Earlier today, I was passing by this beautiful pup, playing in his backyard and as I was passing by, he stopped and looked at me, so cute, like " who you? "And as soon as I passed, he started barking at someone who was walking behind me lol..obviously, that person was a form of threat to the dog and the fact that he didn't bark at me, meant a huge deal to me. Don't know about #1, but zoologists (and biologists) have long known that dogs circle before sitting/laying down to rest b/c of a carryover instinct from their wolf ancestors tromping down grass/weeds in the fields and woods before doing so. They will even display this behavior when there is nothing to tromp down. Possibly is done for personal comfort, to see if there are possible dangers in the weeds/grass (as the video suggests) and/or to be able to watch out for predators (or prey) while they are resting. No one knows for sure.
Until he explained that sleeping with their third eye open also makes predators think they're wide awake i was only focused on the fact that their "third eyelid" swept away dirt and i was just like *"But why dont you just close your eyes then"*
I remember once a dog came and started sniffing my back. But after that the dog just sat down and kept looking at me. Don't know what did the dog understand but it went from hyper to peacefully sitting.
So interesting. Especially the part that explains why my dog is so social and playful at the dog park with people and other dogs but goes crazy like a maniac at people and dogs he sees when he's on his leash.
That is why many or most dog parks have an area as you enter the park that is meant for you to remove their leash BEFORE you open the gate to where the other dogs are. They are more apt to act aggressively toward the other dogs who come running up to them if you leave them on the leash because it makes them feel vulnerable; they can’t run away. I didn’t know this the first time I took my dogs to the park & had to be told by the regulars

They actually circle to tune in their internal compass to the earth’s magnetic field. This is also why they get so scared during thunderstorms, has less to do with loud thunder and more to do with the storm messing with the magnetic field. It would be akin to us walking through the woods and suddenly being lost; no sense of what direction is which.

I discovered a few weeks ago, why my shih-tsu, Kai, would be aggressive towards other dogs but normally very placid. It was MY fault. Because he had been attacked a few times, I'd rein him in to keep him away from other dogs. Because of this the tension on his collar was affected and so he'd feel tense. I pass friends during walks and I don't shorten his lead but as we approach other dogs, I greet the other persons dog in a very friendly way, whether they know me or not. I relax and so does Kai. That works 90% of the time. Now with those we meet, I greet the dogs first, by name, if I know it, or 'hello little one', get in conversation with the handler while Kai makes friends with his new buddy. It's not always the dogs fault but your reaction to a situation may not help your dog to break this behaviour.
*Goes into room without dog* Dog: "He's left me behind... forever" *cries* "I shouldn't have ever trusted the-" *Comes out of room* Dog: "I KNEW YOU'D COME BACK I NEVER DOUBTED YOU FOR A MOMENT"
My dog has a tail but she doesn't really use it to communicate. She communicates with her whole body. Where's the head, what do her ears and how does she walk? Does she seem relaxed or does she tension up. You have to look at it all. The tail doesn't tell that much.

Careful about letting your dog eat to much snow tho, once mine ate a ton and kind of peed herself,she looked so confused and embarrassed (acting different from other times she actually peed herself) and the liquid was completely blank 😅🙃

I remember once I was with my friend in his backyard and his dog was aimlessly running around his yard then it ran by and ran into me but then his dog came and sat next to me and licked my hand a few times and I got the connection it was saying sorry to me lol.
It's funny when I take my dog out to the designated dog area, and the lawn care people clip the bushes and sometimes 1 or 2 branches are left behind and they are in the grass. My dog will be walking then suddenly jumps up really high then. Continues on.😂

Re: the snow eating - the same goes for drinking out of the toilet. A flushed toilet often has fresher water in it than the dog's water bowl. I've had many dogs, and always had fresh purified water available for them. NONE of them ever was tempted to drink out of a toilet.
Snowflakes typically crystallize around something solid. A bit of dirt, or pollution, or a bacterium. Snow isn't clean, particularly in urban environments.
Why do kids like jumping in puddles? You've never done this? ))) and yes, rain water is cleaner than the one under the tap. I.e. you cant water your plants with under tap water, they'll feel really bad.

My dog Holly is super protective and clingy to me. I stay at my grandma's and walk home every day. Holly sleeps on the porch, and when I walk home, she stays at my heels and sniffs at everything, and makes sure I get home safe before going back. Its so sweet.

I'd argue they understand tones more so than the words, though there are exceptions to this, like their names.
A harsh voice gets across displeasure rather than a laughing one. You could probably say "No" all happily and they wouldn't understand, but apply that harsh filter and they do.

I feel lucky being liked by dogs. Earlier today, I was passing by this beautiful pup, playing in his backyard and as I was passing by, he stopped and looked at me, so cute, like " who you? "And as soon as I passed, he started barking at someone who was walking behind me lol..obviously, that person was a form of threat to the dog and the fact that he didn't bark at me, meant a huge deal to me. Don't know about #1, but zoologists (and biologists) have long known that dogs circle before sitting/laying down to rest b/c of a carryover instinct from their wolf ancestors tromping down grass/weeds in the fields and woods before doing so. They will even display this behavior when there is nothing to tromp down. Possibly is done for personal comfort, to see if there are possible dangers in the weeds/grass (as the video suggests) and/or to be able to watch out for predators (or prey) while they are resting. No one knows for sure.
Until he explained that sleeping with their third eye open also makes predators think they're wide awake i was only focused on the fact that their "third eyelid" swept away dirt and i was just like *"But why dont you just close your eyes then"*

So interesting. Especially the part that explains why my dog is so social and playful at the dog park with people and other dogs but goes crazy like a maniac at people and dogs he sees when he's on his leash.
That is why many or most dog parks have an area as you enter the park that is meant for you to remove their leash BEFORE you open the gate to where the other dogs are. They are more apt to act aggressively toward the other dogs who come running up to them if you leave them on the leash because it makes them feel vulnerable; they can’t run away.
I didn’t know this the first time I took my dogs to the park & had to be told by the regulars

Potential new dog owners need to watch this to get a basic understanding of dog behaviour as much as it doesn’t cover all it covers some key behaviour!
They actually circle to tune in their internal compass to the earth’s magnetic field. This is also why they get so scared during thunderstorms, has less to do with loud thunder and more to do with the storm messing with the magnetic field. It would be akin to us walking through the woods and suddenly being lost; no sense of what direction is which.

I discovered a few weeks ago, why my shih-tsu, Kai, would be aggressive towards other dogs but normally very placid. It was MY fault. Because he had been attacked a few times, I'd rein him in to keep him away from other dogs. Because of this the tension on his collar was affected and so he'd feel tense. I pass friends during walks and I don't shorten his lead but as we approach other dogs, I greet the other persons dog in a very friendly way, whether they know me or not. I relax and so does Kai. That works 90% of the time. Now with those we meet, I greet the dogs first, by name, if I know it, or 'hello little one', get in conversation with the handler while Kai makes friends with his new buddy. It's not always the dogs fault but your reaction to a situation may not help your dog to break this behaviour.

My dog has a tail but she doesn't really use it to communicate. She communicates with her whole body. Where's the head, what do her ears and how does she walk? Does she seem relaxed or does she tension up. You have to look at it all. The tail doesn't tell that much.
My dog’s tail got cut off when he was born by the breeder, I’m not sure why.

It's funny when I take my dog out to the designated dog area, and the lawn care people clip the bushes and sometimes 1 or 2 branches are left behind and they are in the grass. My dog will be walking then suddenly jumps up really high then. Continues on.😂

Re: the snow eating - the same goes for drinking out of the toilet. A flushed toilet often has fresher water in it than the dog's water bowl. I've had many dogs, and always had fresh purified water available for them. NONE of them ever was tempted to drink out of a toilet.
