Can we just appreciate that Garrett took an abandoned race track and brought it back from the dead, and now it's putting on sold out shows. That's a beautiful thing!!
From working under a 10x10 awning in the driveway of a rented house. Putting duck calls in tailpipes. He's a true success story. He's an inspiration.
I didn't realise it was an abandoned race track. So that's even more impressive!
@@doraexplora9046 Check his video list. There are great vids detailing the resurrection of the track. From the abandoned DeSoto Raceway (where the NHRA once raced) Garret built what we see today piece by piece with the crew of McFarland Racing. It's an inspiring story.
@@doraexplora9046It was previously called DeSoto Speedway. From March to October, there was regular circle track racing just about every Saturday night. Hurricane Irma spelled the end though after damage at the track, and it was never a highly profitable business either. Cleetus has been able to rehab the track and everything else around it because he has been able to broaden the reach of the racetrack and bring better revenues than they used to be able to do. This video reminds me a lot of what they would do at the track for New Years Eve, just a bunch of fun, silly races so everyone could have a good time.

Natural aptitude sure, talent behind the wheel comes with practice period brother. He's put a lot of laps in, and been fortunate to have many of the best guide him. It's not natural it's earned.

Just saw an old video of pre super charger leroy at Desoto. A young Cleetus was talking about how to do a burnout. It's amazing how far is all progressed.
Make a road course next! I'd come down for sure.
And to think.. the track is now making its own money! Its paying for itself at this point!

He bought it during a really bad time with Covid and everything and even after he got it renovated he couldn’t have people out and now he is selling the place out so he has way more money to work with before he was paying out of pocket or pulling from his other business (RUclips) for everything and the racetrack wasn’t making anything so it was a big deal back then and now they hold all sorts of huge events

Can you imagine the complaints from home owners after a night like this? This is why that development next to the freedom factory can't happen. Events like this are so epic but also very loud and let's face it, no matter what kind of paper work they sign acknowledging they're moving next to a race track will stop them from complaining. There's just too many Karen's in the world.

There is legislation that prevents harassment of shooting ranges by people that move in nearby... Maybe they need to talk to their legislature.

Cleet and his driving skills are truly impressive. It doesn't matter what it is, if it has a steering wheel he's going to drive it like a pro. Apparently it doesn't matter if it's forward or reverse either.

Part of me suspects that when event organisers approach Cleetus to ask about using the Freedom Factory, he's like "Well it'll be $5k but if you let us join the race we'll only charge you $4k"
I just gotta say, having seen every one of the PPVs as a Cleeter Crew member, this was easily the best PPV by far. Had no issues with the audio or connection, quality was perfect, production value was amazing, incredible drone work, and the announcers for this event were top notch (can we keep these guys for other events??). Amazing job by the entire team! Thanks for putting on such an amazing show.

yea it was pretty good i watched the first ever ppv and it was good cant take it away from them but it wasnt the best obviously but this last one was pretty much better than tv quality would rather pay to watch these ppv than tv i havent watched tv for about 5 years youtube forever

My mom, Aunt and I were at the Saturday ToD. I thought this was it until I saw the car jump and remembered the announcer saying “he went further last night”. This show was Freggin amazing!! My fam and I for years used to go to Charlotte County Speedway every Saturday night back when I was a kid. My grandma even raced for a long time in the Road Warriors division. I grew up around this kind of stuff. THANK YOU for bringing it back. Thank you for not giving up on the track. 2 sold out shows in a row will tell you you’re doing everything right!!

I am in davenport this week for vacation from Ontario Canada and pre-purchase the tickets online to come experience the freedom factory in person and I was not disappointed! Even my wife who isn't one to enjoy my car hobby and such had a blast! Saturday night was awesome! Didn't get a chance to meet any of the guys in person even with the pit pass but was still awesome! Thanks for the awesome show! I will definitely come back next year when we make the 22 hour drive again!

Been doing events like this in Wisconsin since I can remember in the early 2000s. Eve of destruction races, alternate between dirt and asphalt tracks. Contact racing, obstacle course, reverse race, trailer race, double Deckers, relay race, tire race and some others
Really love seeing this going on at the Freedom Factory. Reminds me a lot of what DeSoto used to do for New Year's Eve where it was just a bunch of fun racing events like this.
