You see this in a lot of New Wave music in the late 70s/early 80s too.
The Ramones' entire ethos (and the punk genre as a whole) was all about returning rock music to its roots. Very simple songs, usually just using the same 3 magic chords, playing songs just like the rock and roll songs of the 50s and early 60s.

This was a fun movie.i never grow tired of it.
Fave band forever....I remember in the very, very early days of MTV, freaking out whenever this video or "Do You Remember Rock and Roll Radio" came on....things were so different then, the Ramones of course weren't universally accepted as the legendary greats they are just yet, but us Ramones fans, *we* knew....and we knew one day the world would catch up....any second of TV time for them back then was like a big victory.

I used to tell my wife (then girl friend) that even though they were playing in small clubs, you are witnessing the greatest band of all time. To say that then l, you would be laughed at. I knew…. To see them live and play Rock n Roll Radio, you knew this was perfection.

I remember watching the movie back in the 80's when I was a kid. First time I heard and seen The Ramones. One of few life changing things in my life. Shortly after, my babysitters introduced metal to me. After that, I fell in love with punk and metal.

As a former High School teacher, can relate to this clip. It was a "tough" school, but the kids deep down were A OK - big Personas. I formed a rock & roll band - (5 members); we would practice for 3-4 hrs on a Wednesday afternoon - sometimes at school, sometimes at the home of one of the kids. During a break, many of the host mothers - often Italian, Greek etc would bring out a huge plate of antipasto platter, with the dad arriving later to bring out the home made red wine - OMG what nights. At the end of the year, we did a 3 hour concert for all the school & blew their socks off - Ranging from Clapton, Beatles, Stones etc. Best thing I ever did - made teaching a Breeze after all that - other kids wanted to follow. Music reaches many levels - can't tell a book by it's cover. Looking at the guys in the Ramones - they could almost have been my students. Scary !!!!!

I was never into punk until I heard the song “Should I stay or go” Fell in love with the clash, now I know this is the Ramones.. but even though I love the movie rock ‘n’ roll high school (watched it a million times back in the 80s) just was never a big fan of the Ramones until much later in my life.. I was DJing this night club in Frederick, Maryland, and one of the regulars worshiped the Ramones. She was in love with Joey and it kind of made me listen to the music a little bit more.. New wave, and what I call electric dance new wave, think of New Order… Erasure and of course, Depeche Mode, will always be my favorite genre music, but I do love me some punk! Man the 80’s… I don’t think there will ever be a better decade of music! Now I won’t lie,I do love me some 70s disco! ❤❤❤

I first saw this video in December, 1984, crammed in a 3 song video set with Joe Walsh and Twisted Sister, on a Canadian video show. I had never heard of the Ramones, I didn't know how old this was, I was 14, I only knew synth pop and haeavy metal...who were these guys, where did they come from and where did they get that hair? It was the greatest thing I have ever seen!

This is one of the songs I used to play for my high school students before English class. I always started off my teaching with a "bang" and "not a whimper." My students tended to stay awake as a result :).

I remember the good old days when my folks and I lived in Wantagh L. I. and my mom wanted to visit her only sister and we would drive to Flushing to visit. Johnny always playing guitar and I was always talking about how I was learning the drums. Miss those times but have great memories!

Just buy the fucking song. Or download the FLAC version and put it on a portable music player (the modern day versions of mp3 players). No actual music fan uses stuff like Spotify because the quality of the audio files on them are TERRIBLE. Actual music fans simply own the lossless FLAC files of the songs, either because they own the CD or because they bought the song on a service like iTunes or because they downloaded them off pirate bay.
This isn't rocket surgery. If you say you actually like this song then why on earth don't you have the file of it? You must not really like it. I own every album and song that I love. That's what being a music fan is all about.
@@duffman18 I do have it, both on vinyl and on cd. The thing is, if I want to show it to someone else, RUclips ends up being the only option, as Sire/Warner don't give a shit about releasing the right version to the general public, who uses music-only streaming services.
This version is available on the "Ramones Mania" compilation from the late 80's which is currently available on Spotify at the time of this writing.

Me 66 yrs. Punk rescued rock and roll in the later half of the 70s. By 1980 new wave. Then by 82 83 MTV commercialized music and it was dead and OVER !!!!!!
