  • A short video on how I repair a common problem spot on a CT70 exhaust. I use 1”od x .063”wall round tube and a MIG welder.

I’ve been cutting some pieces of this tube. I’m going to post a few up for sale soon.

The exhaust on my CT 70 is fine + I can't weld.
I had to give you a click & comment though.
So many memories of my trail 70 I'm trying to get up & going again (mice ate some wires & electric is my weakness!)
    Hahaha!
    PEACE!!

Thank you! Really appreciate you took the time to comment. The wiring on these bikes is pretty simple, hopefully it won’t give you too much trouble. 👍🏻

Great video Mike... mine is broke in the exact same place. Just curious can you sleeve it on the ID and use the clamp and fiber wrap to secure it? Reason being I don't have access to a welder

I’ve not tried that method, but I don’t see why it wouldn’t work.

Hello mike, can you please put up your video on hooking up all the wires in headlight bucket. Thanks.

What harness are you using and what model bike do you have?

@@MiniBikeMike I have a stock 79 harness. I found it in a manual and had it blown up so I can see it. Are all your old videos gone forever? They sure helped me out. Thanks.

What’s td actual function is that fiber wrap? Just a spacer for the shield? Great video.

Yeah, I believe it’s just a cushion for the end of the shield, so it doesn’t rattle.

This has nothing to do with your video but you seem very knowledgeable. Anyway I have a 1979 ct70 and I pulled the tank out. It has only one spout for a fuel line. But the carb has a two inlets one for main and one for reserve. So I can’t find any info on this. Inside the frame at the bottom there is something that looks kind of like a bowl that would be on a carb and on the top of it is a fuel spout. Is the 1979 different or what. It’s the year they changed the handle bars to the black ones that don’t fold down. Anyway, anyone who could help me I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks

Sorry, I have never owned a CT70 that was newer than 1978. My collection stops with the fold down bars.

I would think any of the steel centers at a tractor store or Ace Hardware, etc would have it. If not OnlineMetals.com or SpeedyMetals.com should have it.

...not a welder, but you could at least grind the welds smooth.

      @MiniBikeMike  2 года назад

Probably could have put more effort into, but with the shields on, you don’t see the welds. Good enough for me. 👍🏻
