Thanks fso much for your video demonstration. I bought the Snap-Back Throttle kit from Josh Eule at Vintage Honda Minis, and it works great on my 1969 CT, 70 K0. :) For my CT70, in order for it to properly snap back with the kit, in addition to cleaning all parts very well, and making sure my new throttle cable was well-lubed, I also needed to clean well and lube (as Josh recommended) the groove in the throttle slider piece, surfaces of the handlebar and the throttle end ring, and the interior of the metal throttle grip, which has the spiraling bars that slide through the groove in the metal slider. I used Motion Pro throttle cable spray lube (shake well!). The spring-back worked great, but was too strong for me, so as Josh mentioned, I could cut the spring shorter, at risk of losing the functionality. I took the risk, cut the spring (clamped in a vise, cutting with a Dremel rotary tool), making it a little shorter, reinstalled, and now there is less spring-back pressure, but still snaps back perfectly! Of course, if anyone does that, they should cut a little at time, re-assemble, and test. Cutting the spring too short would eliminate the fix. Josh Eule and Vintage Honda Minis rock!
Thank you, I have this same exact issue with mine.
Thank you for bringing back some CT70 content. I always like all the great builds you had going on with them.
Great solution! Josh does a great job on everything.
Will this work on a C70 cub? Seems like the same design internal throttle
I called his shop today. He's charging $45 for it.
