    Excellent video! I just bought a running 66 Baby Dream that ran perfectly yesterday, so this morning, I went out to take it for my first actual ride, I went to start it and as soon as it turned over it went to WOT. I think I killed it before any damage occurred, but now I'm afraid to try to start it without knowing how the damn thing works! This is just what I needed. Thanks a ton!

    Thank you. That video was so helpful. It's exactly what I needed. I Can't Believe I came across this right when I needed it most. I really appreciate you putting this content out there and I love your restoration videos, they are very inspiring to me. I have a 1980 cb750 that I bought from some one that was about 75% done making into a cafe racer and restoring it at the same time. I think I will most likely change direction a little and make it into more of a scrambler style bike. I had bought a 1970 cb100 to use to teach my daughter how to ride and the throttle on that bike had the same sticky throttle problem you talked about in this video. Seeing you show how you solved that problem was exactly what I needed and as always your explanation is easy to understand. Thanks again and I look forward to seeing your videos as they come out. Please keep up the good work.

    This was just the video I was looking for! I have the same problem with my 67 CA160. You just helped me a ton! I am hoping that with a new throttle cable and fixing the twist grip, my newly cleaned carburetor will stop leaking through the overflow tube.

    • @AdamzGarage
      @AdamzGarage  3 года назад +1

      @@stevenrandall9601 yes I agree. I cleaned mine well and just keep it filled with gas. Once you coat it there's no going back. If a tank is thin or has tiny holes then that's pretty much your only choice.

    I have a cb125s same set up but it has grease on the handle, is that normal? You didn't use grease at the end.

    • @AdamzGarage
      @AdamzGarage  Год назад

      I chose not to use a lot of grease, I think I put a slight film on the slide mechanism. But I choose not to put grease on the inside of the twist throttle . Afraid it will get to sticky and get stuck. A light film would be okay, even a little WD40. 👍

    Is this a similar fix if your throttle is acting like it has cruise control like that’s why it’s sticking?

    • @AdamzGarage
      @AdamzGarage  Год назад

      Thats definitely possible. Sometimes they stick just a little bit so the bike wants to go on its own.

    Did you happen to do a video on getting the carb end reinstalled? Followed everything in the video, however, mine is still stuck open. Assuming it’s a spring issue but as far as I can tell I have the carb end with spring/valve installed correctly. Wondering if the cable is getting pinched up inside but hard to tell what’s going on there.

    • @AdamzGarage
      @AdamzGarage  2 года назад

      Unfortunately I didn't make a video putting the end back together. I did do a carb rebuild video, not sure if it will help but ill include a link. Another important thing is cable routing from the carb to the twist throttle. Even a slight bend in the wrong place could cause an issue. Just a thought.

      @@AdamzGarage thanks a ton. Yeah I’m pulling the whole cable off today to reroute. She’s stuffed up in the bar with another thick wire so I’m wondering if maybe something is kinked up in there. The little piece the grip end sits in looks a bit chewed up too, hard to find a replacement, so may take a bit of sandpaper to her to ensure the cable isn’t grinding up in that gap as well.

      @@AdamzGarage I have access to sand blasting at my work. But I took this apart years ago. All the notes I put on the wires are faded . 😞
      It has no turn signals so many stray wires in the headlight socket not connected. 🤷🏼‍♂️ The wiring diagrams don’t seem to match my 52 year old wires either.
