    Thanks so much for this video. I've been hesitant to remove the carbs on my 72' CB450 because I had no clue how to sync all the cables. This looks like the same design in general. I really liked the guitar string sync method you used, so now I'll just replay the video a few dozen times to make sure I get it right after I clean the carbs, haha. Subscribed!

    I did this today, and on the choke connector decided that once the first tab was connected to the L carb and seated at the bottom of the shaft, that was it for me. Once the L carb is mounted there's no way the choke connector will come loose from it - no room. Anyway, getting the sync right is FUN!

      At the end of the day you had success. Great job. The sync is a pain in the arse. Need a long handle wrench for sure. One of my least favorite things to do.

    Brian, thanks so much for these videos! I have a steady oil leak out of a hole directly under the stater. I have no idea what that hole is for (first time ever saying that). When on the side stand, all oil leaks out -- 2qts. CL360 1975. Thanks!!

      I’m not super familiar with the 360. I found this tho: www.dotheton.com/index.php?threads/cb360-stator-cover-oil.17413/ lol. Good joke. According to the link it’s kinda normal? Doesn’t seem right tho to me. I’d be wondering too.

    • @KeepOnWrenching
      @KeepOnWrenching  4 года назад

      That stupid choke bracket...meh. Digging into the switch assembly is the real bummer. Be sure to check the length of your cable compared to the original. I ended up with a cable that was too long on my 70. Puzzled me for a good month. That bike still has the original cable because the new one was too long. Similar issue I had with front brake. Cable length is really important. Go get it!

      @@KeepOnWrenching huh. I'm glad you told me that because the cables I got came with a bunch of other parts they are brand new but I didn't pick them so I didn't get to look at the measurements thanks

    I haven't had a chance to work on 350 carbs before but why not just connect the finicky choke sync thing while the carbs on the bench? Then bring them both over the bike, lay one on the engine as you fit the first one on the boot then the second one?

    • @KeepOnWrenching

    Any tips about fixing hand throttle slop? It snaps back just fine but takes a massive rotation to engage the cables….

    • @KeepOnWrenching
      @KeepOnWrenching  3 года назад

      Check the length of the cable vs the original. That’s first. Otherwise you are kinda limited to the top and lower adjustments.

      I just went from the stock cable to a 39". Still have the slop just as you mentioned. Both new and old cable adjusters were maxed out at the lever and carbs. Any fines? Any resolution?

    • @KeepOnWrenching

      Common Motor Collective. I think they just called it a throttle cable in the Cb350 section of their site.

    Was wondering how you get the cable sheaths snapped into the round plastic junction box? I have a new cable assembly for a 1971 SL350 which is the same cable as this, but the cable sheaths came without them snapped into the plastic like original. Do you just hook everything up and twist throttle all the way to get them to snap in or is there a trick to get them without harming the cable?

    • @KeepOnWrenching
      @KeepOnWrenching  2 года назад +1

      It should all snap together. It’s just grooves that things lay in. Kinda loosy goosey too. I’ll try drag one out during the next live stream.

    hey I noticed this morning that my left carburetor was leaking out of the overflow tube. When I took the gas tank off it's stopped I'm wondering if it's maybe a leaky petcock cuz I noticed that the petcock drips even when it's in the off position could that be the problem? I'm hoping I don't have to take the carbs apart

    • @KeepOnWrenching
      @KeepOnWrenching  4 года назад

      There should be no leaks from the petcock obviously. I don’t think that would cause the overflow tho. My first guess would be a stuck float or needle. I’ve also heard that sometimes the overflow tube can be cracked. Like a hair line crack. Sadly, I’d check that carb.

    • @nickjames205
      @nickjames205 4 года назад +1

      @@KeepOnWrenching thanks man I'll probably end up having to do that I just replace the petcock with a brand new one cuz I happen to have it and it seems to have stopped to dripping but like you said that doesn't really add up so I expect that the problem will persist and I'll have to do what you said thanks for the help man.

      That’s from the brackets on the carbs. You’ll need a long handled 10mm to get them sync’d up. I believe it is in another video in the series. Sounds like you might have mixed it though.
