Langdon Tactical PX4 Compact Carry Review - Can an unloved Beretta disrupt the Compact Carry Space?

- When Beretta released the PX4 Storm back in 2004... it was innovative and brought promise when it solved the issue of having big gun shooting characteristics in a light and small package. However, it never took off. 20 years later, Langdon Tactical stepped up in an effort to bring a high potential pisotl back to the surface.
In this video, I review the Langdon's version of the Compact Carry size of the PX4.

The owner of that guns is probably really cool and handsome
Bde
Probably a neck beard hipster.
The PX4cc is the finest handgun I've ever fired, even without the LTT touches but they make it even more awesome.
PX4s on sale at Turner's in Commiefornia for... get this... $299.98 after $100 factory rebate. Unbelievable. Now I've got 2.
I don’t see a factory rebate for a px4 anywhere
I’m just missed it! Last one was bought near me last night. The rebate is on Beretta’s website. It is $100 off California compliant only pistols & mail in. Still good through 7/31
@@cpineo13 On their website, and every gun counter in the state has it posted. Search "Beretta rebates".
Just clicked off a humble marksman video for this! Your doing good on your content
Homie, you do know that they both know each other? There's a way to compliment this guys content without saying, "I clicked off your buddies video to watch yours"...
I legitimately found this channel BECAUSE of THM.
@@Osprey1994 I found it because of THM also! And I didn't know that changing channels was a disgrace or something. I didn't care for the vortex optic and found this to be more interesting! I didn't expect that the pistol come from humble but I'm sure he would appreciate that his buddy is doing good content... Feelings
@@hopewilliams6705 so funny story… we were shooting a match when this comment happened and we had a good chuckle 😂
@@TheGentlemanGunner It was meant for humor and others don't know how much I personally enjoy humble marksman videos either .
Was looking forward to this
Thanks for this video really interested in the LTT PX4s but probably a fullsize. Looking forward to your shoot off video be well.
Good review! I had similar experience as you described at the gun range, but I was using my new stock carry 2 with just iron sights. The gun feels great to shoot and it doesn't print for me as an EDC rotation.
I really love my px4, but another thing to consider for ccw is that the pistol is wider from the bottom of the trigger gaurdto the top of the slide, this makes it feel really bulky in the belt line. I'm a smaller guy and i still carry it, because i like the way it shoots.
Great video. I have several Langdons. On balance I tend to shoot better with their P30 LEMs and 92s, but I still really like the PX4. Very soft shooting and I personally love the ergos (I like thick blocky guns having spent decades running Glocks). I probably prefer the full size over the compact carry, but the latter is pretty much the perfect size for a carry gun in my book. It’s been my summer EDC for a long time. They’re durable and great guns. The only thing that I’d say is do require a little bit more lube and maintenance than your average polymer gun, be it a Glock or a P07. This is particularly true for the compact carry; i haven’t had issues with the full size but I’ve found that compact carry doesn’t like to run dry and will have issues if I don’t put a little bit of lube after 500 plus rounds. Purely my experience.
Yo lets go Friday guntube videos!
Good video, I really like the review as a competition gun aspect, you should go even further with this angle. IDPA for this one, USPSA for others. Springer precision makes a mag well. Langdon offers a boresight solutions stipple, I recommend it. The PX4, for me, lives up to the cult status as least as LTT does it. For those interested, TFB TV and Humble Marksman has good videos as well.
Some good advice on the Grips and Magwell. Those subtle changes would transform this particular gun. I did like TFBs video on this as well, just wish I got to shoot with Mr Langdon too!
The px4 has always been a “I wish it worked out for me” kinda gun. Holster support especially in the 00s was a big issue with this gun unless you loved mikes special holsters.
I don’t think I’ve ever met a shooter who willingly used an Uncle Mikes 😂
@@TheGentlemanGunner conceal carrying guns was hard in those days. There was some really good leather reinforced holsters I could get that I would love to have available today. Used it for my 92FS but obviously a px4 in one of those would have been way way better.
Now I can Amazon drop a $30 holster kydex just because.
Got to handle these at the NRA trade show in Texas, this thing is sick, not the prettiest but definitely feels great.
add the match hammer and vantage point armory comp and you'll be even more impressed with the trigger reset and recoil impulse.
Holosun 508T but it does sit low.
Currently in a state of analysis paralysis overthinking the purchase of a Px4 so I am wondering Which am I looking at here? Was this a LTT gun purchased from Langdon already decked-out with the RDO, trigger and the rest? Or -and this is the route I’m trying to decide is more economical - is this a Compact carry 2 from Beretta, then sent to LLT for that Ernest Magic? and just to confuse things more… the original compact is available from Beretta for an additional savings. I don’t think that’s this pistol but could be. cheers
It was acquired directly from LTT. If you’re looking install the parts yourself… their could be potential savings their as I’m not sure what they charge from LTTs side. But the RDO cut(along with optic mounting plate and front sight) is likely where it will most likely make sense to go directly to LTT
@@TheGentlemanGunner Thats what I suspected - yes RDO and trigger done at LTT would do it for me and get me there for less than a $k - thanks for the reply. Not many cerebral guntoober channels out there. Yourself and the Humble One are tops on my list!
What holster are you using with your RDO cut?
JM Custom Kydex
Gg trigger and np3 is $1400? Interesting way to go with a design that stores were blowing out 10 years ago. Beretta is missing out on the carry gun as new compensated service pistol capable meme.
More recent than that. I bought a compact carry (not the Langdon version but the Compact Carry was developed with some features Langdon liked - better trigger, stealth decocker, talon grips, etc.) at a discount of about $200 roughly three years ago. It shot great, but was just too chunky and heavy to carry, which was the application that I bought it for. It’s also fugly. Don’t forget, though, that the Langdon price includes the trigger work, not just the physical trigger. I have a HKp30sk and a Beretta 92, both from Langdon, and the triggers are phenomenal.
FYI Seems like you audio sounds a-little muffled.
I don't get it why keep trying to improve a gun that is blocky and has awful grips. I think they can do better.
Agree. It’s silly that Beretta just came out with a “gen 2” version of the gun, but didn’t address the grip. I mean, it’s polymer, so I doubt the tooling to make it would cost much. Not much they can do about the blockiness, and that will always limit the sales of this series.
The texture on these sucks
Wayyyyy to slick
It’s just soooooo ugly
It is not a good looking pistol.
That’s the real reason it never caught on because it really does just shoot better than most other polymer pistols on the market
I bought the carry 2 a few weeks ago , I always liked the way it looked. I didn't buy it from LLT, so it was just the new stock version. The gun feels great to shoot, but had a few initial issues with feeding.
But it’s soft shooting and accurate so what glocks are ugly as well and accurate
