Dude I fucking love Brooks as their drummer! He's unbelievably talented, and I think he's helping them to make the complex songs they used to write like on City of Evil
@@prestongehrig2824oh I’m not so sure about that. I was also hesitant about brooks, but he is capable of near the same speed(or maybe just as fast) and is way more technical. He just doesn’t have the showmanship(high cymbals etc.) that the rev did not the super flamboyant personality, but his drumming skills are insane. And he was able to continue the A7X signature drum sound without screwing it up. Portnoy was also wayyyy able but just not willing(no hostility).
Ever since Jimmy's passing, I've seen Nightmare on as different phases of the band. Nightmare was the legacy, Hail to the King was the start of the recovery, and The Stage is regrowth into how the band was before. I can't wait to see you guys live with Brooks. Never got the opportunity with Jimmy, and I never had a chance with Arin. But next time you're around where I live, I'll be the first to buy tickets.
Can you help me out a little bit? English is not my first and second language, it's my third actually. I'm a little confused about something that you wrote. I realized that you use the words "chance" and "opportunity" in different sentences and implying that they meant different. What are the differences? Sorry for this.
Fikri Alfathan they mean almost the same thing really. It just gives the sentence a different emotion when you read it. Otherwise using the same word (chance/opportunity) wouldn’t give you a sense of understanding where he/she is coming from. Just my two cents.
Giant Squid I was making a point. After a while of listening to them I got used to shorter songs. I don't dislike but it will take some getting used to
VOID SPARKZ except he’s older than Jimmy would be and Jimmy IDOLIZED Brooks. He said he thought he was the best drummer in the world. Awesome that he’s now the one to take his place
"He's also his own person, he's an amazing drummer with a great feel and a great instinct to do the right thing" this is exactly how every drummer should be. So glad they handpicked this guy!
I love the fact that when it comes to choosing drummers, the guys always make sure that the drummer they work with carry a bit of the Rev's memory in them. Portnoy and Wackerman were Rev's influences whereas Ilejay is influenced by The Rev.
Every time I get into my car I'm happy. It doesn't matter where I'm heading. This album kicks in and I get lost in it. I've been listening to A7X since the beginning and this record takes me some place different: back, but forward at the same time. These guys just JAM! Every time I listen to this album, I feel like I'm watching one of those old movies with no words and only music. I hear a story. Epic, epic album. *edit* Also.. More studio shit please! It's really rad to see how you guys think and work together. RUclips / social media are the new information mediums *edit2* Drummer kicks ass.
Jimmy is irreplaceable They know that We know that (FoREVer) However Brooks Wackerman has a really creative style of drumming that compliments the band in a really exciting way It's like they are now the best they can be again without Jimmy Brooks' drumming on this album it's incredible. I believe Jimmy will be watching over the band with immense pride now they have Brooks. Arin was a good drummer and had the ability to play the complexed drums from their back catalogue but in terms of creativity to write the drums for an Avenged Sevenfold record it was evident that he wasn't on the same page as the rest of the band. I'm really impressed with the band for having the courage and strength to make the decision to find a drummer that fits in with their style and compliments them in the best way possible Brooks has made Avenged Sevenfold the nearest they'll ever be to complete again. I'm excited to hear what they'll come up with next with Brooks
I absolutely love the way Brooks sounds both like Jimmy and has his own sound, Jimmy had that perfect way of filling, that punch, and Brooks brings that and has this great tempo and structured, choriographed and sycopated feel to it, it's fantastic
Please do a part 2 of this video where they actually talk about Higher and show some of the recording processes. Matt's vocals on this song are the best they've ever been, and I wanted to see him in the recording booth singing it. Its just too good not to see. When he reaches the high note in the verse, I get goosebumps every time. He hasn't hit that note since City of Evil.
I think the Stage is their best album . It's a work of art. Higher is the song that I skip to before playing the entire album all the way through. It's incredible.
I always find funny when I look at the band pictures of Avenged with Brooks- he doesn't look like he plays in A7X. But the way that he plays, and how he approaches each part, it's as he was already in the band since long ago.
He looks like an ex skater that is going to his 6th graders chorus concert. Really doesnt fit the look of the band, but they make great music together.
Freed of the world, Shed of the weight, Onward to see you, my friend meet me in the stars tonight, there you'll find me, drifting in the ether within the lull.. foREVer
I wish all upcoming A7X song will have its own instrumental track. Or even if it comes in a separate copy of the album. Because sometimes you just wanna savor the sound of the instruments. Especially when youre playing online games, driving, where you still wanna hear what youre doing and the people around you. :)
I love this band so much.. theyve been there for me for so many years always bringing joy to my life with the incredible amount of complexity and thought that they poor into their work. playing endless shows and always giving %100 professionalism to the music has inspired me in both my pursuit of music as well as many other aspects of my life. thank you for working so hard and setting a great example for me during my teenage years into my early 20s. I feel like I wouldn't be who I am without the music you've made and the career model you have. merry Christmas.
Never heard of Brooks before A7x. I knew of bad religion but never heard any of their songs. But this man is a best. Super technical, and makes it look easy. His style definitely matches the band.
Great album! I miss The REV, my drummer idol and all that he could represent as a human being. Even his back vocals were unique. But the new drummer seems to be nice too and he's got an awesome groove. Gotta stay strong and keep the good work. A7X are reborn finally! Thank you for the influences.
muito bom ver essa banda se esforçando.pra mim essa e a melhor banda de todos os tempos ou umas das melhores.(ancioso) It's very good to see this band striving for me. This is the best band of all time or one of the best.

I was terrified when they announced they hired a new drummer. When I heard the drums kick in on “the stage” for the first time I was instantly put at ease. It’s like if Jimmy had an evil twin all along in the drums.
Brooks' has a permanent look of thoughtfulness
i just want to say that brooks is a perfect fit
hands down for him!
He sure is!!.. 🥁🦇
That drum beat at the beginning made me immediately fall in love with this song the first time I heard it.
ElaborateTiger Absolutely. Such a solid groove with just the right amount of technical prowess without being too showy.
He made that drum part look so effortless at the end holy shit
I know right? He looks chill AF.

difference between brooks and the rev is the rev could play a lot faster, but brooks can a lot more complex

So glad Brooks is apart of the band. Living legend, in my eyes.
Stephen Sturgis he just needs to ditch that damned hairstyle
Tyler Brooke-Thomas Haha in certain photos his hair reminds me of Leon from Resident Evil.
0:51... Not only did they achieve greatness, they made a MASTERPIECE with The Stage! Brooks' drumming is on another level!
Kneel2ThaCrown brooks is a natural fit with the band.

I'm in love with this song, for me, the best of the album.
Diego Sullivan I like stage but it is to long so I like this one more
TreZ Lightning You must fucking despise Exist
+Giant Squid he probably does
Giant Squid I was making a point. After a while of listening to them I got used to shorter songs. I don't dislike but it will take some getting used to
I closed my eyes while Brooks was playing in the last clip and I could picture The Rev playing that. Perfect choice.
Jesse Juarez I just love the way brooks is playing this amazing drum section, then when he finishes he just says "yep" and walks off xD
Reading this comment made me think in my head, Brook is like a reincarnation of the REV 💯

Jimmy has a mix of playing style of Brooks and Portnoy, both are his biggest influences
The ending bit with Brooks solo'd was jaw dropping
We need an instrumental version of the album!
Nicolas Sedepski Homer
Nicolas Sedepski I want one for all their albums, they've created amazing music

This drummer is amazing! We will never forget The Rev, but Brooks does his job fucking right!
I'm so happy Brooks is with A7X! When i hear his drumming, I hear Jimmy
MsPonderthat1 Well, Jimmy looked up to Brooks and was an inspiration to him.
Arguably one of the best songs on the album!
"Higher" is my favorite song on the album. Such a beautiful song!

Brooks' drums on 'Higher' just resonate in my ear in the best of ways, i love that song so much.
Brooks is a fantastic addition to the band!
I'm trying to play the guitar but this one song keeps kicking my ass
Xenofere It's a song called "the legend27"
I think the thing I admire about Brooks the most is that he can play such technical pieces with so much feel.
To me this is the coolest drum rhythm i've heard. I can't get it out of my head - which is good.
Brooks plays everything so casually, he makes it all look easy
Brooks Wackerman is a powerful drummer. NICE!
Brooks saved Avenged Sevenfold!
Clonetrooper576 And killed Bad religion 😢😂
Clonetrooper576 yes indeed this guy is going pretty damn good glad he saved the band hope he stays in and fits in too
Clonetrooper576 not like they needed to be saved but I get what you meant.

Hopefully Brooks will stay as a lifelong member of the band.
