I went to see A Day To Remember, and A7X was playing too, and when these guys came out I was absolutely floored how good they sounded. They were the best sounding band I have ever heard. They are incredibly talented.
The same LOL. The autotune in the studio is super obvious. In the beggining he went really off in some vocals. On the other hand i have heard him go much higher so maybe he just wasnt warmed up. But its not the same as the studio thats my opinion
plz for the love of God keep this drummer he fits so fucking well in with you guys man sounds like him and the rev had the same style. I still think portnoy was the best out of all the replacement drummers but just hearing this one song this dude is legitimately fucking awesome
Brooks has Brooks style and to be fair all respect to the Rev aside he's an infinitely better drummer than the Rev was. The only thing really that Brooks and the Rev have in common is that they were members of Avenged Sevenfold.. PS. I need to reiterate that I am not bashing the Rev as he was a good drummer, but Brooks Wackerman is a hell of a lot better.
Scrolling through the comments I see a serious lack of appreciation for Brooks. This man filled an obvious void and then some. Brooks is the perfect fit for this band and brings them up another level. The Stage wouldn’t have been the record that it was without Brook’s drum work
C B I feel that’s something most A7X fans wouldn’t admit. From a songwriting perspective I feel Jimmy has the edge cause Jimmy could write full songs for the band by himself. But as far as drum ability Brooks has better techniques
Seriously one of the best bands of this generation. If any elitist has anything to bad to say about them, you show them this video. These guys are passionate, talented, and have carried the torch for legitimately good metal over the past 15 years. Not many bands these days have a vocalist this talented, and a lead guitar player who can incorporate as much melody and technicality as Syn. I used to be one of those elitests a long time ago when I was first getting into metal and listened to nothing but Thrash. Good thing we all grow up and evolve.
Don't forget that monster-drummer Brooks Wackerman... He lifts it all up a couple of notches too. I love how they have evolved from a screaming punk-band into this kind of sophisticated musical beacon. I am not afraid to state that they are on their way to true greatness next to bands like Queen & (early) Metallica. A pity though that very few radio-stations or other channels pay attention to metal these days.
I grew up on thrash and the very first time i heard this band I was into them. NEVER wavered. Lots of people bashed them (for what reason I have no idea), I am guessing they got ripped because they got successful and were not screaming about eating babies or whatever. I think this is quite possibly the finest heavy metal band of the 21st century.
People that say that don't actually listen to Avenged Sevenfold. They are just corroborating the stereotype. Buried Alive is pure metal, most people that like Metallica, Black Sabath and such would like that song, for example.
I mean the only thing that that caught my attention was a few off key notes (could be the tuning) and a little stutter on some sweeping parts but that's what you'd expect on a song this hard i mean cmon
mK_HeXaKILL™ hes getting older so I must say he does sound a little strained..but that's expected of someone who has sung amazingly for over a decade. He does still sound really good tho, and this song is awesome👍🏿🤘🏿
This song vocally is insane. I don’t see him being able to perform it this well into his 40s unless he really takes care of himself. Side note I think more hard rock bands should retire completely when they’re talent or songwriting begins to slip like atheletes. rather than putting out sub par crap in their middle age tarnishing their legacy. This is why I pray system (my favorite) doesn’t put out another record. They’re catalog is flawless. Learn to save you’re money and invest bitches so you don’t have to destroy you’re value with mediocre crap like Korn (also love them). Metallica may be the exception to the rule.
mK_HeXaKILL™ sucks he got a blood blister on his vocal cords and he sounded like shit the past couple of months and now The End of The World tour is cancelled, I was gunna see them in Seattle.
Really poor management of this tour and he’s basically killed his voice now. It really sucks because he is the greatest vocalist in all of metal, but he was stressed way too much for way too long since the stage came out
5:24 - 6:22 This is my favorite part, you can really feel the emotion in his voice and see it too actually! The whole song is amazing, for sure it's so catchy, but that part gets me!
This version is even better than the studio version, seems "cleaner" . and yes love the guitar solo at the end. actually the whole song could adapt well to classical orchestra.
They're one of the few bands that can pull off everything live, and they sounds just like the studio versions. Every note hit just like it's supposed to be. Pretty rare these days.
agriperma that because it was recorded with a whole lot of recording equipment. I've had friends let me hear their music both recorded and live. Most of the time live sounded "cleaner" but after going through an unprofessional mix it took alot of natural distortion and other high pitched harmonics out that sounded good live.

All the Negative Nancy's on here need to realize that as a vocalist, this song is incredibly freaking hard to sing.very high in his register and yet he still freaking nails the notes. Matt is an amazing vocalist and the rest of the band are amazing as well. I love Avenged. They've gotten me through a lot of hard times.
Agreed, and the false chords technique he uses to hit the higher notes is nothing to be scoffed at, it's incredibly difficult to train your voice to do that as well as incorporating your normal singing voice right after too.
Another thing to point out would the mouth shapes of his singing now as opposed to how it was in the days of COE. His nasally voice combined with how he pronounced certain words made him sound whiny and thinned out his tone. Now he’s using more open mouth shapes instead of using syllables that pushes his voice through his nose. Man he sounds awesome on the stage.
Love this song. Dude when this first came out in real time. I was at my roof, I was fresh off a broken relationship, and I was just at my rooftop contemplating life listening to " hope my wheels don't abandon me now, seeing that I'm here alone..Im running out of fight" shedding tears. Through the darkest of times I was here listening to avenged
One of my favorite things about their performances as of late is how Syn is programming some of the lesser "important" harmonies into his signal chain, so like when they play the chorus in this song, Zacky can still keep the rhythm going, keeping the fullness of the song intact, but then for the big harmonies in the solos they switch to their normal duels. Its those little things that contribute to an amazing live performance. They really leave no stone unturned.
You know a band is good when their live songs sound practically exactly like the song released on the album - no auto tune or anything. A7X FOR LIFE \m/

anyone noticed that in this second Matt sang wrong the lyrics? He said "...and oh I ksjsleft control" and the correct way is : "...and oh I felt control"
The fact that the song is about the evolution of greed and corruption of the human race, better seen in the music video, yeah this is the PERFECT place. They've all changed soo much since The Rev died and the fact they're still producing great music is awesome. I've been a fan for a long time since before they were signed with Hopeless Records, I still have a few demo CD's I got from a few of their local gigs and Warped Tour and I still listen to them, it's sad to see a new drummer BUT I like this one better then the amature that did Hail To The King. Basic beats that were probably done by computer and sloppy timing all on the percussion side, I've been a drummer for 14 years and I've heard better drumming from a hurricane and yes I have heard his other bands crap I'm still not impressed (things everyone tries to defend him with). I'm glad ajlay however you spell his name is out of the band they can finally get back to good music with a slight technical style on drums that suits Syn Gates' playing and Shadows voice. Now I'm watching the video again JUST to geek out over that beautiful drum kit, a simple double bass kit is awesome but add those Deathbats...it's sex.
All of them came together in the creative process the fact that Rev had better stuff is another story, better details in I think the 1st DVD Diamonds In The Rough and the Self Titled albums digital copy had a bunch of good behind the scenes stuff. The point is they all came together and picked and chose the style they wanted as a band.
brooks is such a beast in the drums, syn is the goat, shadows is so good he doesnt even need to change the song to live perform it.. zacky and johny are mr consistent duo they dont get enough credit both amazing.
We knew back then where the music was going. I'd say this was a very changing tale of when men refine themselves and venture to embody what it means to pursue greatness in the face of adversity!! I'm thankful for the music over the years and the critics crumble to dust!😊
What an incredible live performance of not an easy song to pull off. Every musician is delivering at an elite level. Tremendous song, ranks as one of my All Time A7X songs ever. Simply breath taking.
Cruzeirense B.H por enquanto, apenas rumores, mas acredito que tem possibilidade com esse álbum novo assim como vieram em 2013 no Hail to The King. Enfim tomara que venham mesmo
This song is simply bad ass. It’s one of my top 6 or 7 songs on this album. Really just depends what day of the week it is. Can only hope the new album has as much detail in it.
You know you're an insane vocalist when the studio version isn't double-tracked so you sound the same live and in studio.

Alex Priebe I think he sounds pretty good in this one too but he definitely had more power and grit on Hail to the King.

It's Patron's slogan
Avenged sevenfold is the king of mordern metal!what a melody came from syns 2nd solo!!
Good location to play this song I guess...
Jimmy Blues plus the rev was a key part in the general creative process. But you're drummer, ever listened to Gojira?
All of them came together in the creative process the fact that Rev had better stuff is another story, better details in I think the 1st DVD Diamonds In The Rough and the Self Titled albums digital copy had a bunch of good behind the scenes stuff. The point is they all came together and picked and chose the style they wanted as a band.
Well, except it isn't on a stage. It will make more sense in their normal live shows.
kingadalou they played on the capitol records building to say fuck you to warner bros and that their gone.
Sinister's solo is something between amazing and unexplainable, especially in this performance... just, wow..
2:45 in the left ear: "Voltaic Oceans on December 9th"
WHAT THE FUCK?!?!

Solidus not sure dude. dont hype to much cuz maybe they wont
What about 1:51!? NO ONE CARES ABOUT 1:51!!!
I’ve always maintained that Syn is the best guitarist of the last 20 years.
I've watched so many covers of avenged sevenfold but no one does better than them
R.I.P the rev
Avenged are officially my favourite band of all time since the days of Bonjovi, foreigner and Queen.
brooks is such a beast in the drums, syn is the goat, shadows is so good he doesnt even need to change the song to live perform it.. zacky and johny are mr consistent duo they dont get enough credit both amazing.
Matthew Sanders is one of the few metal vocalists that ages like a fine wine. His vocals keep improving, you don't see that often. Professionalsssss
Incredible live performance from all of them... As if in the studio...
That drummer is insanely amazing!!!
Thats Mr Brooks Wackerman!! 😎😎 I actually know his father Chuck Wackerman whos a brilliant musician and teacher!!
@@SynysterNate7x ohh ok I didn't know that
We knew back then where the music was going. I'd say this was a very changing tale of when men refine themselves and venture to embody what it means to pursue greatness in the face of adversity!!
I'm thankful for the music over the years and the critics crumble to dust!😊
[...] and the wind speaks a comforting voice, guiding me to her arms. [...]
DAMN!!
The greatest rock band in the history of music......
Agree ❤️😎
100% agree, i love them so much
Two things:
1 - Synyster Gates looks like Johnny Depp
2 - The break in the middle, with the clean guitar, reminds me of the Rolling Stones.
I just realized, the song is this good ❤
Johnny Christ at 2:45 says "voltaic Oceans on December 9th" haha. Fits well with the song.
beanbot12 December 9th is my birthday!
It sounds more like deluxe edition on December 9th when it was supposed to come out but idk
I don’t have a favorite part. The entire performance is an entire masterpiece 🤟🏼🤟🏼🤟🏼
What an incredible live performance of not an easy song to pull off. Every musician is delivering at an elite level. Tremendous song, ranks as one of my All Time A7X songs ever. Simply breath taking.
Can we appreciate Matt's voice in 2024, he's back
Matt voice now is better than this
Just the guitar solos and mshadows voice such a great masterpiece love it wish I was there camera man recording every tour they go on 😄
This the number one my favorite band
Avenged Sevenfold Is still kicking ass R.I.P. Jimmy the Rev

Cruzeirense B.H
por enquanto, apenas rumores, mas acredito que tem possibilidade com esse álbum novo assim como vieram em 2013 no Hail to The King. Enfim tomara que venham mesmo
Raoni Brito qual é mesmo o nome desse novo baterista?
LugTec InerdLavigne
Brooks Wackerman ex Bad Religion
They all have finesse while they play and it's so freaking smooth💀🦇
This is why I love Avenged Sevenfold even more
Imagine hearing this beautiful stuff down on the streets that would make my day
From 4:55-5:25 beyond Insane guitar playing 🤘🤘🤘🤘💯🎸🎸🎸🎸
Does anyone else notice Johnny saying "voltic oceans on December 9th"
Shane Runyan yes,I think its him. Some says its Zacky. Its definitely not Syn
It was definitely Johnny
Syn missed a couple of notes on that intro, but keeps sounding very nice xD
Vopher not syn but brooks. Brooks came out earlier.
Vopher thank you ☺
Brooks played at the right time lol! I've listened to the studio version so much. I think Syn missed a couple hahaha! It ain't bad though.
Brooks was a TAD early.
But to be honest, I think they're playing it faster on purpose. because everything seems a little faster. Not by much but maybe 10%
His voice only gets more powerful with each album. It's amazing.
Hard to believe this song is coming to be 7 years old, I was in high school when this came out. Where did time go?
Holy fuck this gives me chill bumps this is so great live the whole band is amazing
This song just proves that synyster gates is the greatest guitarists alive
I agree 1,000% 🙌🏻 he's an actual GOD!
I take it neither of you saw Dime live...
This song is too good for this band. Mixing is spot on! 1 of the best songs I've ever heard
This song is simply bad ass. It’s one of my top 6 or 7 songs on this album. Really just depends what day of the week it is. Can only hope the new album has as much detail in it.
When a savage singer also rocks adorable dimples.
that guitar solo at 4:45 make me always remember THE REV respect
