The first part is a Viggo Mortensen(the guy that played Aragorn in Lord of the Rings) song called 'What Kind of a Nation.' Buckethead plays on all of Viggo Mortensen's cd's.
Don't even worry about the capo. You can tell that in Hog Bitch Stomp, Buckethead plays the notes in the same pattern as he does for standard tuning, but just two frets higher, hence the capo. If you want, search any song on bingeandgrab with the same pattern, not necessarily the same notes per say.
Actually this recording of Buckethead is alot older than 'What Kind of Nation' with Viggo. He's also used this acoustic melody on 'Beyond The Knowing' on the new album Electric Sea... its awesome. Oh and yes, 1:36 - 2:25 is 'Danyel', a VERY old song :)
When I first started listening to buckethead I only thought he could shred. Cool I guess. But after buying 2 CDs everything turned clear. Buckethead can play anything and it always sounds good. Just listen at accustic shards. My favorite buckethead CD. Buy it now if you like this.
Personally I believe this "acoustic jam" to be one of his best and sincerely believe him to be the best guitarist not only for his shredding capacity but because of the kind of emotion he can express through a piece suck as this.
i realy hope that when he retires he can find some new comer who is just as good and has amazing song writing skill and the buckethead legend will live on for another 60 years... and people wont start asking questions until 40 years from now when he has to be pretty old... yet his hands are still youthful
@zakgun91. My favourite Hybrid-Picker is James Burton. Check out his stuff here. It's not about speed, just about feeling. But Buckethead is amazing here. Have seen him do that very bad (Rio 2001 Video).
sorry if this is stupid to ask idk if its his song or not but just started listening to Buckethead (and am glad i found him)... but whats he playing at 2:27-3:04?
Sorry, I ment before Diary. I've heard him play that into, Diary, than the lightning fast strumming part, I would like to know if they're the same song.
Watching his hands while listening is mesmerizing...hypnotic almost! He's great!
I love Hog Bitch Stomp. It always puts a smile on my face.
first part is "beyond the knowing"
Sean Malloy I was just gonna ask this thanks
0:00 - 1:00 beyond the knowing
1:01 - 1:36 wishing well
1:37 - 2:26 waiting hare
2:27 - 3:05 diary of a madman
3:06 - 3:20 (bucket bluegrass lick)
3:21 - 4:20 hog bitch stomp
1:37 - 2:26 is actually wishing well, but he plays it for waiting haré too
He didn’t even play Diary of a madman Right lol
The solo he plays to 'For Mom' from this show is quite possibly the best acoustic solo ever played
God knows why its not up on youtube
Cuts from a beautiful melody to Hog Bitch Stomp, and makes it seem like it's the most beautiful song ever.
Only Buckethead
His lil country jam at the end is almost too amazing to believe, everything about that is incredible
Glory days, got lucky and saw him twice in 2006 and 2008. Best guitar I've ever heard and nothing comes close
First composition is called Beyond the Knowing, from the new 2012 album Electric Sea. This is truly amazing album!
Oh man how can someone play so good ! I've never been so intrigued of a Buckethead video and I am a big fan of him for a long time
I agree!
I fell on my knees and start crying the first time i heard it.
Buckethead is amazing.
Great Buckethead! Great sound and technique!
The guitar is Yamaha CPX15II

Diary of a Madman! Awesome
I just got it!! yess!
only need a capo on second fret..
that song is soo good..
Nice. Eventhough he's such a master on the electric guitar he hasn't lost his touch for acoustic.
The first part is a Viggo Mortensen(the guy that played Aragorn in Lord of the Rings) song called 'What Kind of a Nation.' Buckethead plays on all of Viggo Mortensen's cd's.
Diary of a madman, pure win.
Don't even worry about the capo. You can tell that in Hog Bitch Stomp, Buckethead plays the notes in the same pattern as he does for standard tuning, but just two frets higher, hence the capo. Awesome! Buckethead giving a nod to Randy Rhoads! Awesome playing as usual.
buckethead is so fucking UNDERRATED MAN moore ppl should like....LOVE HIM
He makes it look easy. Good stuff.
I Like the expressions on his face when he plays.
2:27-3:06 is Diary of a Madnan by Ozzy. Guitar written by none other than the late great Randy Rhoads
He has a lot of roads Influence
One of the few shredders that can play hybrid picking.
When I first started listening to buckethead I only thought he could shred. Cool I guess. But after buying 2 CDs everything turned clear. Buckethead can play anything and it always sounds good. Just listen at accustic shards. My favorite buckethead CD. Buy it now if you like this.
1st song is What Kind of Nation 0:00 - 2:24, The second song is Diary of a madman 2:27-3:05, the last is Hog Bitch Stomp 3:06 - 4:21.
So badass. Thats cool that he plays diary of a madman.
Beautiful, cool how he started palying Diary of a Madman...
Personally I believe this "acoustic jam" to be one of his best and sincerely believe him to be the best guitarist not only for his shredding capacity but because of the kind of emotion he can express through a piece suck as this.
The first song is beyond the knowing which was released pretty recently in his album electric sea
The capo's on the second fret, which puts him in standard tuning (E); so his guitar's in D.
i love bucket head
beautiful!
Gilbert was Buckethead's guitar teacher back in the late '80s.
1:36 - 2:25 it's "Danyel" from album Pieces
Awesome nuff said !
i realy hope that when he retires he can find some new comer who is just as good and has amazing song writing skill and the buckethead legend will live on for another 60 years... and people wont start asking questions until 40 years from now when he has to be pretty old... yet his hands are still youthful
I heard diary of a madman about halfway through!!! thats awesome
you, sir, are my savior.
@zakgun91. My favourite Hybrid-Picker is James Burton. Check out his stuff here. It's not about speed, just about feeling.
But Buckethead is amazing here. Have seen him do that very bad (Rio 2001 Video).
I have the binge and grab tab with solo and all =)
look at his fingers go, they just flow like the waves in the ocean
@Desimodontidae he is alternating between pick and finger
@rprdoXD Diary of a Madman by Ozzy and Randy Rhoads, hes playing the intro to it for a good 20 secs before that :p
One part of the song, the part before Hog Bitch Stomp, sounds strikingly similar to Leo Brouwer's Study No. 6. Pretty neat.
anyone know where I can download this full concert? not only this song, the whole concert!
Thanks
finally someone playing a yamaha!
sorry if this is stupid to ask idk if its his song or not but just started listening to Buckethead (and am glad i found him)... but whats he playing at 2:27-3:04?

1:03 is awesome
He's like 'Crap, missed a note.. Meh, who cares".
I love his version of diary of a madman!
@deadeye146 yup, that was diary of a madman
Sorry, I ment before Diary. I've heard him play that into, Diary, than the lightning fast strumming part, I would like to know if they're the same song.
did anyone know that the first two chords from for mom are chords in diary of a madman
Happy Birthday Buckethead! (too bad that I'm one day too late...)
The name of the first song is What Kind of Nation
Muy buen video, para volar, alguien me puede decir si existe este tema en version estudio? Me refiero a la primera parte, no a Hog Bitch.
@whatsastonerfor there is, its called ^what kind of nation^
Is it me or did he add a few lead notes to accompany the rhythmic strumming at 1:52
isnt the first part the guitar to the song "what kind of nation"?
@thaydnbass try searching for "Buckethead - Beat it Jam at Fox Theatre"

the whole Colma album is a fucking miraculous piece of artwork, if you like this check it out.
His body/hands were made for what and how he plays.
Also Diary of a Madman is played two notes higher, but same pattern. Good luck with finding the song.

What's the name of the first song?
whats the name of the first song?
First song he plays is an outtake from his song. What kind of nation? From him and Viggo Mortissans album. Intelligence Failure.
whats the song 1:38 - 2:26 called ???
RUclips does that to everything.
anyone got tabs for the first little jam?
@smokedontcry I don't think you have to compare them. Its pretty obvious.
