This song was written for Buckethead's mom, which was sick with colon cancer, and he wrote it for her so she could listen and enjoy something during her treatment. She sadly passed away in 2014.
This is off of Colma, a very beautiful album. But, check out the pike he wrote for her. And the one for his father. May they both rest in eternal peace, and may their son's love never be forgotten.
This is my boyfriend’s favourite song from Bucket head, sadly, he passed away three months ago, this day, due to pulmonar cancer. I opened RUclips and this song came on my feed. I’m sure he’s taking care of me.
I am very sorry for your loss, my friend. It's my favourite song from buckethead, too. He'd want you to live the best life that you can. I hope you can take some solace in that.
It’s interesting how you can feel someone’s soul through musical expression. Buckethead is an incredible artist and I could listen to him nonstop! I pray his mom is free of pain and sickness.
I prefer the studio original. This improvisation sounds kind of generic to me. The studio version of this part was heavenly! I came her trying to see how he played that part.
i'll be completely honest, I only knew of him in passing as a member of GnR for.a few years. I can now see his depth and ability goes deeper and further than GnR ever could. I have plenty of catching up to do,.but wow what a talented, atistic and creative soul.
I've been listening to him for 8 years and I still find new songs (not including the pike series) and I have been actively looking out his material the whole time I've been a fan. He's still releasing pike albums regularly which can be a bit hit and miss but when its a hit its gold!
Cam Allen bunch of weirdos and Axl and Brain. I watched the reunion back then. I was thinking. This dude with KFC bucket is kinda ruining my ravorite parts of the solos. I just knew of him as Guns new guitar player. I thought he was extrememy technical. Anywats. Buckethead is my saviour. Therapy my friend. This dude saves my life everyday. My favorite artust of all time.
My brother got me into buckethead when I was like 10. He had a replica mask, bucket, all of it. First song I heard was Soothsayer. Played it on repeat on the bus for probably a year straight. Kinda grew out of the instrumental type music -- and recently have been getting back in to it. What an artist buckethead is. Music this great does not need lyrics. I like interpreting the message/theme of the music just via the sound. You can tell just through the tranquil vibes of his music as well as song titles, he is grateful for his family, and a feeler of all emotion.
I listened to this song everyday multiple times a day just to get thru the day while i was battling PTSD . such a blessing . This live version is different then the album version
I bet his mom was so proud of him and his talent, I know you miss her so much , Lord you take me away when I hear you play , to my happy times with my mom , I LOVED HER WITH MY SOUL, I know you miss yours too, I sorry for your loss too, God keep them safe and warm in your arms, 😥💕 Joi Unangst Haynes
What a fascinating artist Buckethead is. I am late to the game as a fan, but am very surprised and impressed with his diversity of musical stylings. What a lovely song!
I love how in his more homemovies he had a great relationship with his family. Any potential regrets dont matter. You can tell they supported the balls out him and he excelled more then they could wish for and he kept his bond tight which is more then they could ever ask for. Much love buckethead and carry dem memories high
Excellent job brother. We gotta love our Moms. Sorry for your loss. I know this pain, this is an absolutely beautiful piece of music young man God bless...!!!
Damn, it has the same pitch as of SOOTHSAYER live version. For those souls who arre demanding the words for the further unfolding, trust me, this rendition doesnt need words. everything can be felt.
Every year I play this song, every time I go to visit my mother's grave... The dozen roses I leave you.... Forgive.... I just miss Mom so much.

@@faulkgough524 Hey, it's been a while, but do you happen to remember the pike number of the ones you mentioned? Thanks
@@YesAcamol Pike 65 Hold me forever is for his mom, and Pike 150 Heaven is your home is for his dad.✨
@@faulkgough524 Actually, this is from acoustic shards.
One of his first albums
But he reworked it to this
@@johnballs1352 no actually it came out in the colma album first because colma came out in 1998 while acoustic shards came out in 2007
He is a musical genius
Once in a lifetime guitar player. Buckethead himself is dealing with a heart ailment for the last few years. I hope you live to be a hundred.
Understatement
R.I.P Nancy! Thank you for gifting us with your son.

I feel sad for all those who can't appreciate this unmatchable creative force
It’s interesting how you can feel someone’s soul through musical expression. Buckethead is an incredible artist and I could listen to him nonstop! I pray his mom is free of pain and sickness.
I like how the boisterous crowd soon fell silent as the song progressed. They were all just carried away with the emotion. Love it
no one can argue he is one of the most talented musicans ever
He loved his family so much..
I decided to dance with this song on my wedding because so emotional song for me and for my mom..
thats awesome
I truly can't describe how his music makes me feel .... its beyond words.
Klaudia Dema to me its feels like going on a melancholy adventure of all the good times on your past
there are no words that exist. this is pure emotion in music form.
@@tazzerdevil98 i also fell like that
hurts but feels unreal at the same time.
It's saddening and yet it brings joy all at the same time. I just saw him in Sacramento....He did a great job....@@connerf99
Too real Bucket...you loved youre parents so much this is hard to watch without crying
It's beautiful when a child loves the parent and dedicates their life to loving them.....even when they're in heaven. ❤
After 3:50 the song leaves this earth and touch the edge of the universe.

Its a conversation. You can hear her replies. Best part.

I would assume he’s using his emotions at the time of the concert to fuel the song that is a dedication

The two opening chords sound like Ozzy's "Diary of a madman". A tribute to Randy Rhoades maybe?
+edilcentro And parts of it remind me of "I Believe" by Satriani.
Yeah I was trying to learn both today and realised they're the same chords as the 5th and 6th in diary of a madman
Would not surprise me. I think the riff from 'Welcome to Bucketheadland' sounds like 'Crazy Train'.
that solo
Essa música é foda
First two picked chords are the exact same two chords in
Diary Of A Madman... But I love Brian Carroll!... Maybe he's channeling Randy Rhoads :)

Why are the pike albums called pike albums? I’m trying to get it.
exactly since pike means a fish which eats other fish. only bucket knows why pike series. fterall he is buckethead
