    Have been listening to this for over 16-17 years now. It invokes so many emotions I just can't explain it. Sometimes tears just rolls down when am a lil drunk. And imo this is better than the studio version.

    Man I would've payed a lot of money to witness a performance like this one. I've only known the studio recorded version & I came across this tonight. Beautiful vibes emanate from this artist unlike any other I've ever heard. A truly gifted son sent from the cosmos to enlighten us with his music!!

      +deckardplisken Luckily someone replied to this post recently since I had forgotten about this performance. I wrote that original post 2 years ago & to this day I'm still a devout fan of his music. I've heard 80% or so of his albums & seen sooo many live performances on RUclips over the years but this one does stick out amongst the others. Having not heard it for 2 years it makes me realise again how special & unique of an artist Buckethead truly is!! If only I could show the world this performance & show everyone the talent that emanates from this man's soul.

    you're absolutely right...All the albums he's been successful with, being able to keep a relatively good hidden identity, and not only making it into gh2 but having the hardest song definitely shows all of that

  • @qwikfikz
    @qwikfikz 16 лет назад +2

    towards the end, he improvises some scales that are quite ethereal and enveloping. his note and scale arrangements evoke such emotion. he is one of those guys that makes his guitar sing what he's feeling. behind the bucket lies a shitload of emotion. check out the contrasts of the albums 'Colma' and 'Island Of Lost Minds'. he is all over the spectrum, which makes his so very talented, indeed. one of the greatest of all time, CERTAINLY.

    Yes Buckethead has a talent that is very unique; his ability to play so many styles with such emotion as noted by many of you, to play with such grace, flow, and almost God like ability, with a musical expression that as far as I know is unrivaled makes him one of my favorite of all time. Very glad You Tube has such a nice collection of his works on video. Thank You!

    ive read most of the last comments, and my assesment is vastly different. what makes buckethead far and beyond the best guitartist in history is not his speed, his skill, ect. no, its much more about 2 things: his vast knowledge of the instrument and its many forms of expression, as well as his exceptional attention to melody. his skill is unmatched, but what puts him above the rest is the combination of the 2 elements i just described. he is the mozart of our time.

    People are saying buckethead sucks rocks. But i've spent several hours referencing him. He can play fast. he can solo w/o a doubt. He can play bass. He can play very melodic stuff. But THIS video, shows how versatile he really is. I don't think a lot of guitarists can do that. They are good at one thing and they kinda skimp over other aspects. He IS amazing.

    -continued- But you see he is only a part of a long lineage of great musicians from this area. I was happy to contribute in what way I could to his career, but I am also very happy to be a part of this lineage here. Claremont is very very unusual - its a College town and its very green and Lush (Out here in the DESERT of Southern Calif) with many old Victiorian Age buildings and many many Artists and Musicians live here. -continued- Buckethead was trying to promote himself through all the magazines many years ago and the magazines ALWAYS ALWAYS try to grab on to some NAME players to mention if someone is at associated with them. -continued- Hey for the record here - Buckethead is quite a formidable talent and I was quite happy to give him my best for all those years. I busted his balls on scales and technique and he worked hard -- harder than anyone. Its his hard work that put him where he is. He is awesome because he has the talent, the ear and the timing for music and his skill comes from hard core massive practicing for years. Many people have no idea of the hard core level of practicing for hour after hour that he did. On a good day he would put in 10-12 hours solid. Thats why he's awesome.
