    Basses on an accordion are loud so if you want your right hand tune to come through more play very staccato (short notes) on the left. Good effects can be had by playing staccato basses and legato chords and visa versa.

    Thank you, this is very helpful. I am learning to play. I was wondering why I couldn't hear my piano notes sometimes or how to get them louder. This technique seems like it will help!

    Before playing with v-accordion I put a dumper foam over the base side. It helped a bit to have a louder melody line. So could play more legato.
