Superman and Batman in one episode. The actor playing Gary is Robert Lowery who played Batman in the 1949 serial, Batman and Robin.

I'm not knocking the show, because it was great. I just wish they had a musical bridge between the slower music and the more energetic heroic theme.

Amazing they spent the money to film so many episodes in color when so few homes had color TVs it wasn't until 1965 that color TVs became popular and in 1966 all shows had to be filmed in color.

Even in that short clip there is a continuity error, Clark grabs his hat as he is leaving his office, a moment later he's out in the hall headed for the always unoccupied store room with no hat.

Good catch. And, when Gary revives, Clark is dressed in his suit, tie, and hat. Where did he put them while flying?

Superman comics had an explanation for this piece of business, Superman had a pocket in the interior of his cape, he squeezed all the air out of his clothing and inserted the clothes in this pocket. In the episode Night of Terror, Superman changes back to Clark Kent in his office, he reaches pulling his cape around before the scene changes, I always interpreted of that scene as their way of acknowledging the explanation given in the comics.

It always boggles my mind to think at some point this is all people knew Superman to be. There was no Superman Cartoons, no Christopher Reeve yet, no Dean Cain, no Tom Welling, no Brandon Routh, no Henry Cavill, no video games, very few comics.

Uh, you do know Superman started appearing in comic books in 1938, right?
He was also in newspaper strips, a serial starring Kirk Alyn in the 40's, a radio show in the 40's....a very well known character.
George Reeves was excellent, but his show is from the 1950s.

@@robphillips1797 Uh... did you read the part where I wrote "very few comics" meaning there were "very few comics, and nothing else really but George Reeves at this point"... lol
I didn't say there were "no comics yet" nor did I state George Reeves was the start of Superman, you misread, and tried correcting me, while ignoring the point I was making.
Point is George brought him to life first, (Yes, Kirk Alyn played him briefly before George, but he didn't bring him to life like George did, same goes with Adam West, and Lewis Wilson/Robert Lowery, Adam West brought him to life, and is what everyone saw as BATMAN, and known Batman to be),
My point was at this point in history the other popular performances I listed didn't exist yet for fans to say "So, and so is MY SUPERMAN" like they argue today, it was George Reeves, and that's what kids saw, that's the point I was making, at no point did I argue this is where Superman started... I know the history pretty well, and was just picturing being at that time where Superman was George Reeves, and nothing afterwards existed.... no need to get technical and state "THIS AND THIS CAME BEFORE HIM! YOU'RE WRONG!", thanks though.

@@robphillips1797 Uh did you read my comment? The part where I wrote "very few comics" meaning there was really only a decade of comics at that point, and George as the face of Superman.
I know Kirk Alyn briefly played him first, but George brought him to life.. No one remembers, or even knows about Kirk Alyn... same thing with Adam West, and Lewis Wilson/Robert Lowry.. Adam West was first Batman that made him popular, regardless if those 2 played him first.
The point I was making is fans didn't have the variety of popular performances you often see them argue who the best is, the ones I LISTED... I wasn't getting all technical. I didn't say "George was the creation of Superman, no one knew him until GEORGE created him" lol.
Obviously the comics came first, duh. I was making a point to imagine not knowing any of the popular performances that came after him as we all do, and racing to the tv to watch George, and thinking SUPERMAN!
No need to ignore my point completely and try to correct me as if i'm a clueless modern day fanboy. I know the history. Thanks though.

No. Remember he mentioned a plane crash? A kryptonite meteor hit the plane. Pieces got into Gary's skin. As a result he is the only Earth person vulnerable to kryptonite.
Yes, the suitcase contains kryptonite. It was there by pure coincidence.

Not only that but when he leaves his office he takes his hat but when he's in the hallway, in front of the storage room... which has window btw, he doesn't have his hat. Somehow, when he gets to his destination, he has his suit and his hat.
