I had the opportunity to buy a low mile RST Chevy when I was barely 16. I didn’t know what it was and my dad said it was a Mexicans truck and wouldn’t let me buy it lol. Excited for the build
Between my brother and I we have 5 4.8 5 speed Silverado’s, it’s all we keep in the stables. We’re also from southern TN so when I saw this truck pop up on marketplace, I almost went to look at it. Very glad you got it. Them 4.8s with the 5 speed make very impressive dyno numbers and really wake up, like any LS, to cam swaps. If you have any questions on the platform let me know! Congrats on the purchase!
really? I thought you couldn't? I may want to try this on my 2006 GMC. When I bought it in 2008 it had 60,000 miles. Today it has 170,000. Back then, 2008, I was told you couldn't.
I bought an 04 sierra single cab short bed v8 4.8 Just like this one. All original only issue it was beat to s*** as the previous owner was a handy man and didn't really care for scratches or dents. I have invested hundreds into it. Nice reliable truck takes me everywhere it's fun to see the progress of your work. Have fun rebuilding it!
Its an alright truck even if it's not a regency. I think this probably started off as a regular sierra and then someone started replacing parts one by one, just based on the cluster alone. If you run a snap on tool on this and the odometer and that cluster match, it absolutely is not a regency. Depending on how many owners it's had its possible it got stripped and remade with more regency and oem parts a couple times. Or it's an actual one that was owned at some point by someone who had no idea what it was or just didn't care. Either way if you got it for a set of graps and a little cash I think you got a good deal even for a regular sierra
I thought the same thing but the same person who did that janky job on the entire rear of the truck isnt gonna hunt down all the exact engine parts for a regency 😂
Just incase your interested, someone makes a shifter relocation kit to move it to be in the left cubby side of the 03-06 full center consoles next to the cup holders that looks super sick. Just incase you may of wanted to console swap it
"Piece of dookie" had me rolling. LOL I've got a 96 Tacoma 4x4 5 speed that had been out of commission for a while. Got her back on the road and forgot how much fun that truck is to drive.
Just got a 01 Silverado regency myself for 800 runs and drives damn good has its little Probs but over all real good! Didn’t know they came manual sick as heck my man🤘
It's almost as if someone wrecked this truck, began parting it out, then someone tried to save it but couldn't locate parts. My buddy in college had one of the Chevy branded RST trucks. It was super fun, not overly fast, but it was loud and it TURNED HEADS.
Regency conversion used carbon fiber weave and epoxy to make their bezels and console pieces etc that truck itself appears to have been the lowest trim most of the rsts retained dash bezels and gauge cluster along with the regency shifter
I hope it is a true Regency truck. Either way, it’s gonna be good. Good candidate for a turbo. The 4.8 does better with boost than the 5.3, so don’t listen to those fools. I thought the RST trucks had billet pulls in the door handle, but I looked and they did have the chrome ones from the factory.
Add a step side bed with regency rear bumper and turbo it sport truck vibes and it will come back with base model vin they all were according to my research
Love to see this. I got a 96 ram Indy 500 unfortunately dmv marked it salvage title and I asked and they said they had to even tho the truck is in clean shape without any damage besides paint chips…. I’m going to go get a rebuilt title so I can transfer it to different states also cause some don’t take “salvage” titles
My buddy had a 99 Silverado and his cluster took a crap like all those models did and the only way to get the miles is to possibly flash the BCM but lots of those trucks store the miles into the gage cluster itself so it’s kinda a crap shoot in itself 😅
Don’t really work on carfax. It says my 96 ram Indy 500 is a base model but the FACTORY dealer paperwork I have for it vin matched shows different and shows it’s a true Indy 500 ram 1500.
You should come to Maine and see some real clapped out rigs I'm aware there's stuff I can't see or know about but to me man unless it needs a frame and even so that's not really clapped sure it's not perfect but she's pretty decent especially for what's around here to me she's far from clapped but she's nice rig

looks like you had change of plans lol

😂😂😂 them mexicans don’t treat their trucks well they beat everything up

If you hook up a snap on scanner it’ll show you the mileage and vin from that pcm
was just coming here to comment this.
Same lol
Guess we all planned on commenting the same thing😂

I just tried this with my 02, the odometer was out and the snap on scanner would not tell me mileage. I fixed odometer and then it told me

Damn you went back for it lol this is gonna get interesting!
Time to have a completer rebuild and maybe first truck ever painted!?!?

Can’t wait to see the progress on this
I bought brand new in 05, reg cab short bed, 4.8 5speed 4x4…. Wish I’d never got rid of it. If only I’d knew then how rare it was.😭
Definitely excited to see a single cab v8 manual build. Keepem coming!
"Piece of dookie" had me rolling. LOL I've got a 96 Tacoma 4x4 5 speed that had been out of commission for a while. Got her back on the road and forgot how much fun that truck is to drive.
Actually glad you went back and got it. Regency is a rare package along with Remington and otheres.
Just got a 01 Silverado regency myself for 800 runs and drives damn good has its little Probs but over all real good! Didn’t know they came manual sick as heck my man🤘

Probably destroyed the bed and just slapped one on and sold it.
Perfect platform for a Turbo setup with the 4.8L.. good compression and these engines make boost and rev higher that other LS engines
Lots of "clapped out" trucks on vise grip garage. His channel seems to be doing well. Looking forward to the build. subscribed!

I’m glad you bought that because you can do a build series on it.
Keep up the good work 👍.
Still a sweet truck. 4.8 V8 5 speed. I dig it. Glad you changed your mind. 😊
You should put a full center console in it
4.8 stick shift! It’s kinda like Leroy from Cleeter but a truck! Can’t wait to see it boosted
This is good content, not brand new so we can watch a bunch of videos of you fixing it up
Totally not laying in bed eating ice cream watching this 🤣🤣
It was turned into a fake work truck 😂 I’m excited for this build!
Run a carfax or hook up a snap on scanner to see the real mileage. You should buy a Remington edition 4 door GMT800.
Add a step side bed with regency rear bumper and turbo it sport truck vibes and it will come back with base model vin they all were according to my research
Really looking forward to this build!!

I used to have a 01 single Short box 4.8 4x4 that was a Dale Earnhardt edition, so regret not keeping it
Possibly check vin history and see what oil change places put on the miles when it had oil changes or work done at the dealership
Ty brink used to make a short throw shifter for these so you can have a center console not sure if he still does
Hopefully this can be the first c notched truck on the channel
Time to give it the lmfscrew magic touch
Pull the mid lead spring and just do all cheap mods if anything to pimp it out. Bondo those areas and wrap it
And exhaust ofcourse
When adding captions in the videos, please make the time the text is on the screen longer! Keep up the great vids!
OLD VERSION OF SHORTY AND CHOMPER MIXED?!
Chorty
Shomper
Okay I'll see myself out
This is gonna be a great rebuild to watch.
Welcome to the 5 speed Silverado/Sierra club!
No evidence it was a regency dude lol
I had a 1999 regency 4 door crew cab it was great I miss it 😢
Bro so excited for this!! Hell yeah
The deep clean video is going to go crazy
I do like this idea of buying a clapped out truck to do a true rebuild, it’s a fresh sense of content
I believe a proper scanner can pull the mileage
Did they just part out this whole truck for extra cash? 😂
They massacred my boy!
4.8s sound really damn good, straight pipe that thing
Hell yeah they do i got a blue 04 extended cab stepside with a 4.8 auto with a super 40 dualed out sounds good af
This is going to be an awesome build!
It’s definitely clapped out lol but it does run have an 02 long bed with a 4.8 and a 5 speed and I love it trucks has 400,000 miles on it
I would love to see you get a ss cateye chevy silverado
My buddy had a 99 Silverado and his cluster took a crap like all those models did and the only way to get the miles is to possibly flash the BCM but lots of those trucks store the miles into the gage cluster itself so it’s kinda a crap shoot in itself 😅
Love the vids man can we see some more 6.0 content? And you are my inspiration for working on trucks keep it up
Save all the American Regular cab short beds you can.
Buy a 2000 s10 with the 4.3 !!!!
Those things are so fun to drive
This is awesome, and you're awesome for buying it.
i hope your using heel toe in that . Glad to see the content mobile shredding !!!
She’s rowdy mini Chomper it would look sick if you did everything to it like Chomper.
Kinda excited for this one
You might be able to type the vin into carvana because it automatically put the exact miles i had on my truck after i entered my vin
Hell yea man love it
It’ll have the correct miles in the pcm hook it up to a scanner
Looks like a good burnout truck
You need a lift in the shop asap!!!
I can’t wait to see what you do with this…
Odometer 229,396 carfax reports it’s a base model truck.
Don’t really work on carfax. It says my 96 ram Indy 500 is a base model but the FACTORY dealer paperwork I have for it vin matched shows different and shows it’s a true Indy 500 ram 1500.
You've got your work cut out for you! That things a bit more rough around the edges!
Sometimes it’s better to buy like that and do all the work yourself
Gotta risk it for the biscuit
need a lifted single cab build fr
yes
Keep the great work man there a guy still make dash part and grauges curster
that’s like buying a denali with everything stripped and replaced with base model stuff and selling it as a denali 😂
Good luck, it should be fun.
I'm so happy you bought it 😂
Speed engineering turbo kit for it.
It going to be worth it’s trust me, mine was the same if not even worse with no Interior there like legos 🥶🥶🥶
ABOUT TIME!
You should do a quad steer bed
You should come to Maine and see some real clapped out rigs I'm aware there's stuff I can't see or know about but to me man unless it needs a frame and even so that's not really clapped sure it's not perfect but she's pretty decent especially for what's around here to me she's far from clapped but she's nice rig
All over hyped trucks no gains
What ever happened to the Nissan hardbody?
Restore it to an accurate regency and then lift it a little
I think I’m just excited about build just like u I’m v8 swapping my 4.3 to 5.3 and going be sweet just like ur when get it build
At this point you could’ve bought a clean single cab and cloned it to a Regency haha
HUUUH? LOL WASN'T EXPECTING THIS
You need to Fix up Paint job Dark Blue Gmc Sierra 1500 Single cab 4x4 New Nitto Trail Grappler Tires Get New Black Leather Heat Seat Exhaust 5%Smoke out Window Tint and New Bluetooth Radio Led Headlights and Led Taillights too Imfscrew i am your Big Fan love white Ford F150 4x4
Car fax would give you the mileage
In WV that things mint worth 5 to 9k here
I really think your channel needed a good ole shit box💪🏼 I’m excited about this one
You’re going to drive chopper and wonder where your shifter is lol
i need some help plz i need advice on what i should do to my truck can u help
I love this!
No wayyyy you got it
Looks like it’s gonna need a LOT of work
A little rough but I see the potential
Please cateye swap it and put a built 5.3ls with a big cam are 6.0ls and make it a street build would be a good platform
3in keys, some Qs, and drop the back down😼 dig rig
In our new country Oofland its cheaper…
Could be a regular gmc but just manual, interior and badge swapped
