OR/AS surf sounds almost like orchestral music, its wonderful :)

Hoenn and Unova are definitely the best ones, but the Sinnoh theme still holds a special place in my heart
My favorite are alola and unova, most likely because they were composed by the same guy.
I remember back in the day when I was playing gold/silver. I was in some lake, then I suddenly stop moving, and then I closed my eyes just to listen to that theme. Damn! Such a blissful day back then. Right in the feels.

D/P/Pl throws back in 2006/2007 were i first played this game. Nostalgia. Its more than 10 years now. How time flies....
Gen 2 best forever. Even when gold and silver were brand new, that surf theme (and the national park theme... and azalea town's theme...) made me feel intensely nostalgic. Just exquisite.
I bet you also like violet city and the staff roll themes; they are objectively very well made
@@Cloudey "Objectively", that's the word. It's not always nostalgia that makes GSC tracks beautiful like some people claim. There's sheer beauty within the arrangements.
And then HGSS takes it up to eleven with the orchestral rearrangements... the fresh, added richness of already great music always gets me
@@MayuraVyamsakaHowdy. I've got a bad opinion here, I don't think they captured it properly. Some of the notes are straight up incorrect which I find weird but I'm sure it was a design choice. I don't like it though.

Hoenn's here is just masterpiece , even if you have nostalgia, the rythm by its self is just melodically perfect
With all the water you have to traverse in Hoenn, they knew they better haf to make a good theme for surfing.
God Jhoto Surf theme.... you guys remember when we had to cross the sea to get to our next Gym and we saw the Whirl Islands for the first time.... wondering what was inside 🤣😂 loved it.

damn the R/S/E version of Surf theme was a masterpiece, but they made it more better in OR/AS! I love Hoenn region so much! 😍❤️
Having grown up with GSC and RSE, hearing both of those themes remade literally brought tears to my eyes. They’re my favorites by far!
Hoenn, Johto and Sinnoh are the most beautiful imo, but I just love Unova's rendition so much, it's got so much energy and makes me feel excited to traverse the open seas

Gen 2 Surf theme is just too good. The arrangement technique on this song is very on point. Despite being 8bit song. It is the best surf theme from all gen for me.

These themes summarized the small and wonderful memories and breaks you’ve had with your ride on your companion that you’ve been with on your entire journey on becoming a Pokémon Master, or the beginning with your companion. There are no bad surf themes in these Pokémon games because they share their own vibes in their respective regions. Hopefully, we can return to these amazing themes in future generations of Pokémon.
My favorite was gen 5 but it had a really cool touch to me it has a dominant sound to it
RSE is the best! never really noticed the heavy use of trumpets while playing raw as a kid.
Doesn't Unova have excessive Trumpets too?
BW/BW2 is kinda like a Broadway musical song, which fits with what the region was based off.

Very disappointed that they did away with the tradition of having the surf themes be a "waltz." It was a nice touch seeing gen 1-4, and 6 all be in 3/4 time

Pokemon yellow was the first pokemon game I ever played. But my favorite song in any pokemon game has always been and always will be the Gen 2 surf theme in gold/silver/crystal. Followed closely by Gen 1 lavender town theme. Brings back so many memories.
I love how all the others are so calm and Alola is the only fast one. Nice job, Gen 7.

the GSC theme is just perfect cosidering the fact that GSC was supposed to be the last installement of the games, its music feels like an end credit yet sounds so heartwarming

Gen 1: Always a simple pleasure listening to this, always giving the feeling of progress every time I'm in the water.
Gen 2: The most varied of the themes, its greatest appeal. Go Ichinose really knows how to bring out that feeling of unforgettable memory with his compositions.
Gen 3: This theme is so full of adventure that I just want to wear an eye-patch, hop on my Linoone, grab my Team Aqua homies and say "YAR! Give me yer booty!"

Gen 4: (Favorite #1) I have never appreciated this theme until recently, with its beautiful, majestic atmosphere. There's never a desire to stop listening to this once it starts. Recently, this theme is responsible for me learning Hitomi Sato's compositions in particular appeal to me the most.
Gen 5: (Favorite #2) I've appreciated this theme from the start when I heard it for the first time. Really emphasizes the fast, action-packed nature of the surfing mechanic in the 5th generation games. Imagine my disappointment when Gen 6 onward couldn't provide that for me anymore.
Gen 6: The *epitome* of the "waltz" aspect of surf themes in Pocket Monsters. Just realize that Kalos is PokeFrance, and you'll know why it sounds so romantic.
Gen 7: Surf's up, dude! I just knew this theme would be radical from the moment I heard about Alola. Riding Sharpedo is always a pleasure playing Generation 7. Interestingly enough, we have yet to play a game that allows us to see the monster we're surfing on besides what was decided in this game...

Wakame Deku Thank you! It's just a plethora of differing opinions, that's all. It's true that there's no "best" song; the themes are just additions to each region by their respective composers. Each new game just adds more to the older games, so I never really see anything bad with them.
Edit: In case you're wondering, this user expressed appreciation of me being constructive in my opinion of each theme rather than "REEEE! THIS ONE SUCKS! AND THAT ONE, TOO!" I just wish that the Pokemon Company pull out all the stops, choose a console that takes full advantage, take their time, and just make a game that uses the entire world as its setting. This gives composers a good excuse to return to their respective regions and polish their old songs satisfyingly. Remakes and even some of the recent games as of 8/3/2021 have different composers arranging them, but there's exceptions where the original composer rearranges their own song; like what Ichinose did with National Park in HGSS.

There's something beautiful about Kalos' surf theme that just... Hits different. It's not my favorite (ORAS Hoenn and GSC), but it's beautiful.
