Man, this really brought me back to my childhood, the original version of this figure was my first ever voyager class figure, and not only that, my first main line figure ever. I never realized how much they changed to this mold in the takara release, there are some great improvements but also some misshapes, like an entire panel missing that covered some of the robot junk on the sides of the truck. Great video man
Probably more coincidentally. I don’t think it would fit nicely but it probably could just sit on the hole decently. If you saw, the peg was kinda short so if it were to go together with the primes, it probably wouldn’t function all that well.
I know it works with the First Edition TF Prime OP, the AOE Evasion Mode OP, and I am about 80% confident it will fit on the SS BB OP, but may have to have it rest weird. I sold that figure a good while ago so can't remember for sure.
I remember seeing this in a shopping mall back in '11(I was 12 years old), asked my dad to buy it for me,ended up returning home with the legends class prime 😔😂.
I'm pretty sure in that one scene where Optimus was holding back the decepticon airships he actually used his Ion blaster. Also this figure looks so much better now with the advanced paint work and sculpting mainly the back considering not much has changed apart from the paint and the mechtech weapon.
Do you have the Age of Extinction Leader Class Optimus Prim with Trailer & Sidewipe Platinum Edition? I just got it today. It is really nice. I have been wanting it since it came out, but it was crazy expensive when it came out. THe price actually was much more than retail for me. It is worth it to me though.

I used to own that version of Optimus actually (without the trailer), my mom bought it for me during my bday. Once we got home, the first thing I did was go to my room, open the box, and tried to transform it. 20 minutes later, it already broke.

Oh gosh I had that Optimus prime as a standalone figure and it was my first movie prime and man I HAAAAAAAATED it. The front never tabbed in and the roof never tabbed in right on my copy. It always frustrated me, especially since the front wheels also never tabbed into anything. I do like that this version had some improvements over the one I had. Especially getting rid of the weird back tanks and the strange solar panel looking detailing on his hood and roof.

I get the novelty and at some instance it does stack above compared to other figures of its time. I know this comment means nothing as most would have probably think that figure is just superb. Still, great video as always, and great call on looking back to that elusive figure. It's a treat to see it on HD.
I picked up this figure back when I saw your haul video, I couldn't transform it so I thought I was doing something wrong, I followed the steeps you took still doesn't work, it still looks cool on my self in robot mode, great review it looks so good the way you transformed it 😀
I had a slightly different model, tinted orange eyes and the glass was also orange, my model came with the gun that he used to shoot in DOTM, you could store that gun on the back. The extra space was there to make it fit, and frankly it looked pretty good.
Correction there was one other version of the trailer that was not as good, very simplified also the reason there were gas canisters was because they were supposed to represent his flight tech Although this is a great review
I gotta say that Optimus is my childhood I still have mine but I think it's a rare since I can't find any video of him but his arms are not the best just saying

i don't know were but they were selling the mech tech trailer and I bought it. It came with the blade gun and gas tanks replacements, so now my DOTM Prime looks like this Prime that comes with the traielr.
Prime i am also a big fan of transformers movie line and i own in US a truck company and as for the trailer is a reefer unit thermo king, utility trailer and i know it because i own a real one but 2013 model i also order this set recently and i wait to arrive to my home and i cannot wait after i see your video to play with it
there was a smaller version released back in the day..under the movie best banner...optimus prime is a deluxe size with a trailer...but i opted for this one.....i liked this one better... there should be a comparison between studio series and this takara tomy release..nice review nonetheless...thank you

I remember this old figure. This version of Peterbilt 379 Optimus Prime may not be truly movie model-accurate, but he's still a cool figure.
While not the exact toy, this Optimus prime toy was my first ever transformers figure. Seeing a review of it makes me incredibly happy.

This mold was the first prime figure i had, specifically the fireburst colorway. Loved it to bits
1 of the things that I ABSOLUTELY LOVE about Transformers 3 is that Optimus gets his G1 upgrades, like his trailer & axe.

theres another DOTM version called 'movie trilogy series', cleaner truck mode with trailer but not too great robot mode. theres a youtube review on it

For the longest time, the Hasbro version of this was my definitive Optimus Prime figure, until the Studio Series ROTB Optimus Prime came along.
