I feel like somehow EVERYBODY in the community was somehow drawn to this figure again because for the past week I kept looking up this figure and just bought one and this review comes out the day before its delivered like WHAT!?!?!?

Years after getting this guy, I discovered that you can rotate his feet to point more outward in the exo-suit, rather than pointing straight forward. It was a very stage bit of articulation to discover, and that about sums up this toy's feeling.
i have a knockoff of this figure and its so much worse than this. the smokestacks are red, the shoulder flaps are different, the whole grill, the entire grill, comes out 90 degrees only so i can do the same arm pop out transformation. and the crotch piece doesnt even tab in or stay in place. IT HAS NO TAB. and the cover for the back wheels dont turn and then come up. it just comes up to the side and it has become loose, and the head is on a spring, no head rotation nothing.

@@kidztruthproductions initially i was excited when i got it. but another thing i forgot to mention is. when i got it out of the box. i tried to transform the trailer, its the exact same. but the peg for one of the wings was stuck, i couldnt get it out, and eventually the peg broke. its the peg connecting the wings to the arms in trailer mode. so whenever i played with it, one side kept untabbing. so yea, dont mean to add fuel to the fire, but its pretty bad.
Oh my god this whole video was just filled with nostalgia for me. As a kid, this thing was basically my definitive Optimus figure
I remember getting this as a present I think around Christmas, and yeah, this is really nostalgic for me! I love this figures playability, and remembered how some times I would just play with optimus instead of both him and the trailer. Great figure, but the shoulder flaps were always a bit fragile.
I actually used to have this exact same prime as a kid! Would play with it all the time! Seeing this again is nostalgic ass hell. Thank you.
I got this figure for christmas and still have it to this day. and I would do ANYTHING to have a third party version of this with MP level engineering.

This is one of my favorite in my collection, I am a collector who does not play much with my toys, mostly post them and set them on the shelf. The look of this toy was enough for me to be interested understanding its cons, you can hang this on the ceiling like its flying with a big canon, and looks like an Optimus Prime Gundam, I wish they would make a redesign of this that fixes all or most of its cons, but the way it is now, I am more than satisfied with it.

It's a janky figure but it's got that weird coolness about it... possibly just because it's Optimus with a trailer once again!

This design is soo overkill, I love it.
I have had this since it came out. My side doors have broken off but I still have them (it broke at the clear plastic window)
I am able to pop the doors on and off, I got serious stress marks on the double hinges for the side panels on the cab and I managed to snap a peg completely off on the trailer, which sucks but it makes it unique
I think this could actually be a good mold if they found a way to have the wheel wells on the legs and fix the chest portions
Optimus Prime and his trailer will always be awesome. I love the 2007 truck design. So glad we have gotten so many cool Optimus Primes lately.
I remember when I got a transformer's revenge to the fallen studio series optimus. The little thing in his arm that's used to transform it into truck mode. The little tab went forward, and his arm went backward. As hard as I could, I tried to put the arm back, and it snapped off pain.
Now this is a big childhood one for me.
I recently got one for my new house to display on my shelf for old time sake and got it for a great price.
Just a fun toy regardless of the paint. Like it's a feckin huge Optimus what's not to love?

as a kid i had this toy, i lost the optimus but still had a trailer, little kid me learned that it connects perfectly in vehicle form with the transformers prime leader class optimus that comes with the unfolding gun
Wow I never seen broken animation for transformation instructions before.
An updated version of this is what I was hoping from the Studio Series one.
I'm still hoping for something similar in the future - without the mega buster rifle.
Studio Series is usually movie accuracy focused so an updated one could fit into buzzworthy bumblebee mayhaps

I remember my brother getting this for his birthday back when the toy was new, and how we used to use it along with our other transformers toys, I especially used his hands sliding in problem as an excuse to make em arm blasters, but I think he still displays it in his room from time to time so I'm just looking at this review with a lot of nostalgia
This figure was my absolute childhood I could never transform him (he was in bot mode) and loved that giant mech tech gun I just pressed the buttons to watch it light up not even bothering to plug it into his hands wish I wasn’t so destructive with my toys or he’d actually still be here lol
My brother had this toy when we were younger. It's a fun toy and looks cool.
Bit of a warning though, I don't remember how but one of the pegs on Prime's giant face gun for the hands broke so be careful with that just in case

My had one of the knees snap GPS style. I wasn't being rough with it, it just gave one day without warning.

The trend I see with toys are they either focus on the playability and articulation or just go all out and give it a presence even if its basically a statue at that point. You can see this with something like Sentai mecha toyline where the mechas are ridiculous and big but they are just glorified bricks. And then there are those who try to cater to every aspect and did it like Studio 01 Cell which is just, insane

I got this figure for my birthday when I was very little, I watch this video for nostalgia purposes and also to see what it was completely like, right now it doesn’t have a lot of pieces due to the test of time so I lost a bit of pieces, I musta been way too young for this toy lol, but I love it regardless cuz of the trailer, that was what had me sold for the toy, the trailer, the fact it transformed into a mech suit for Optimus blew my lil child mind and I loved it regardless of its issues, mainly cuz I didn’t care much, but I still love it cuz of the Mech suit gimmick.

Got this one for Christmas and I can confirm that the trailer is flimsy and poorly toleranced the connections on the panels are scary tight and the air conditioner/front/wing part snapped off after one transformation due to the amount of stress and force needed. Love the toy still, he will always have a fond place in my heart

Ultimate Optimus Prime weapon is just a predecessor to the Age of Extinction Lockdown toy.
I love this toy. My two favorite old movie toys are this and the ROTF supreme Devastator. Both incredibly inaccurate, but super fun toys that are just meant to be cool and BIG. And boy do they succeed at being just that.

i saw this in walmart when i was like 8 years old back around 2011/12. I remember having to settle for the mini transformers prime optimus prime cuz it was cheaper. You can find this guy for like 200-500 dollars. For as old as this guy is that aint bad imo
I just got this guy today from my brothers dad (we have different dads) and bro I love it so much! Although one arm won’t tab in but it doesn’t make a difference and I’m not gonna mess with it as I don’t want it to break
I had this. Lost the trailer, smoke stacks broke off, and now I don’t know where he is. Wish I took better care of my transformers but at least I made good memories with them
This Guy was my main Optimus when I was a kid, and then he broke a couple years ago, so that was sad, but I ended up getting SS 44 DOTM Optimus and it was a pretty solid figure, and then I decided to custom paint him into Nemesis prime... ah well, At Least I'm getting SS-05 now
Say what you will about this guy, but he has a special place in my heart. I must've been about five or six when i got this guy for my birthday, and i loved him to death. I vividly remember bringing him into to school for show-and-tell, and telling all of my classmates about him. He unfortunately broke down over time, and was eventually thrown out. This review was an absolute nostalgia injection to the brain. Thank you.
I was almost going to get this Ultimate Optimus but glad I held off and got the Takara Leader Jetwing Optimus instead, which has definitely been a better figure
Found one at a local con a few years ago, I end up picking up two of them for 50 US because they where both broken and one was missing parts. However, I was able to take the missing parts from one and form a full finished on that I have displayed with my collection of the movie line figures.

3:01 You honestly don't need to do that first lol. I usually do that the last. The side panels is the one you open first so you can start exploding it for robot mode.

I remember getting mine for somewhere around 20 usd without the mech-tech cannon. The kid wanted one quarter for it but my dad said no lol
Since I was a lil ass kid at the time, I lost pretty much all of the trailer panels that make up the wings so my Prime doesn’t command as much of a presence anymore and the hips on Prime himself are so loose that he can’t even stand and instead flops either way.
My reaction when I saw that figure first time: Y he chonky-
I mean, give it a better core bot along with additional articulation for both the previously mentioned core bot and trailer exosuit, and it could be a dope-ass toy that holds up even better today!
