    5:05 Man, the jump in screen accuracy from ‘07 to RotF is astounding! Just took one more movie and good engineering to give us the masterpiece that was RotF leader class Optimus

    • @TheSilverwolf97
      @TheSilverwolf97 Год назад +22

      The problem is that practically the entire line of 2007 toys was based on concept art. Designers didn't have neither the actual finished look nor the amount of files they have now to better replicate what is displayed on the screen

      Still have mines cause I remember being a kid and having an idea of what a perfect movie Optimus figure would look like and one day walked into a store and just saw it in person and was absolutely astounded. I mean I think it speaks to how good it was when the Masterpiece is just a slightly reengineered version of this

      The only issue with ROTF Prime is that he was a pain to transform. A lot of reviews at the time complained about how complicated the process was.

    • @EKOddLink
      @EKOddLink Год назад +8

      @@OtakuUnitedStudio it seems complicated at first but it legit only takes a few minutes to transform compared to some masterpieces that take 10 minutes and only a few steps are scary to do because the instructions don't communicate it well enough, but when you know what to do it is so easy to transform.

    Most original 2007 movie toys are literally the perfect fusion of a simple yet high quality child's toy and high detail movie design + aesthetics. Love the balance between both worlds. This guy & Leader Class Megatron are literally among them.
    Some of them are way too ROTF-like complex like Leader Class Brawl, Voyager Class Ironhide & Ultimate Bumblebee. They can be a nightmare & time-consuming for kids to transform.

    My 2nd original Transformer, and my 1st original Optimus Prime! I remember I spent a third part of my scholarship to get this massive jewel (And I did that again for the ROTF one 2 years later. 😅), and just like with my first Bumblebee, I enjoyed the heck out of it! It was like a dream come true for me to have a Transformer as big as this Prime, sure it was heavy, and blocky in comparison with how he looks in the movie, and the panel in his right forearm likes to come off easily, but it still was Optimus Prime, my FIRST Optimus Prime! A cool badass representation of my favorite character, and I love it as he is! In all of his blocky and imposing presence! 💪

I still have this optimus prime leader class, albeit I lost the hand accessory and sadly the smoke stacks broke off, I wish they were hard plastic so it would have stayed, sadly the issues with it which may have been mentioned are the ball joints are loose specifically the shoulder pads. Always loved how much effort/detail went into the alt mode, and that to date I think this was the last Leader to feature rubber wheels let alone Transformer. Don't quote me on that. Other than the clunky robot mode my only real issue with this guy is the soft plastic/rubbery bits on the ends of the smokestacks. Already have had one snap clean off. Liam neassen as prime? It would be interesting for sure. I'm curious how well he could have done it.

    this was my first ever transformer and sadly I lost his gun and broke off his pipes as well as one of the back part, which is why I got the new version with metallic looking parts, I also did the same thing with my nail and the wheels lol

    Damn I feel old, I still have the one I got as a kid over a decade ago 😂 to this day I don’t dare transform him into robot mode as still don’t know how to turn him back 😂

    It may be quite “bad” with the truck parts really being seen but not as bad as TF4’s Leader Class.

    I got this figure mid 2022 on eBay
    Was able to get it in box UNOPENED for £50
    My guess it was some mother trying to get rid off unwanted toys that was never given away😂

    Got this when new, the only Bayverse Optimus I own, and its honestly pretty decent. It feels solid and substantial, looks pretty good alongside his brethren. Im a CHUG collector and have always disliked the movie aesthetic so Ive never felt the need to get the ROTF version.

    I have one of these I got it used and it must’ve had a lot of play put into it because it broke the 3rd day of having it the pieces being the right back wheels and left nose cover

    As old, I can say Old toy set back screen accuracy for Sturdier material and no cost cutting for quality and gimmick. Example is rubber tires only in 07 optimus leader

    Liam Convoy: I don’t know who you are, I don’t know what you want. If you are looking for energon, I can tell you I don’t have cubes, but what I do have are a very particular set of skills, skills I have acquired over a very long career, skills that make me a nightmare for bots like you...
