Does anyone know why Transformers Prime had first edition & RID mainline?🤔
first edition was ment to be the only line but when the show was continued after the 5 part pilot, they had to extend the line to make way for the mainline.

Because from the younger collectors said the first edition figures was too complex for that hasbro has to slow down the engineering for the first figures to make it simple and fun
Fun fact: Prime Ironhide was initially gonna be one of the main Autobot cast (Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Arcee, Cliffjumper, Ironhide, Ratchet). But after Ironhide was killed in DOTM, they didn't want to confuse people by having him alive in their Prime cartoon. So, he was replaced by Bulkhead instead, due to his popularity in Animated!

@@mattimusprimal637Them thinking that kids will be confuse over movie Ironhide and Prime Ironhide is just a stupid excuse to not include Ironhide in the series. They really thought kids are that dumb.🤦
I’m still very impressed that First Edition Bulkhead and Optimus were so perfect given that usually the first toys end up inaccurate due to production lead times and changing concepts.
The RID Bulkhead actually has a more show accurate headsculpt (a lot more rounded than the harsh edges of the FE mouth plate) so I think changing concepts did ever so slightly screw over the line, at least in the start. The RID Starscream also has a much more accurate head, although I do love the FE’s shit eating smirk.
@@VADtoys the FE Bulkhead’s headsculpt is a small price to pay for salvation (aka such a great accurate toy otherwise). RID Bulkhead is a joke
I am disappointed that I Don’t have Transformers Prime Bumblebee
I love alot of these figures. The bee mold had an awesome hotshot version which i missed out on. The beast hunters version was different enough that i consider it a different character. That Rumble always gets me with the chest face.
The engineering of this toyline still amaze me. Its crazy that they can nailed the engineering of the transformation while also still maintaining the stylized nature of the character design.
Prime was a decade ago ...god damn i feel old 😭

Fun Fact primevsprime bulkhead's name in Japan is Ironhide, but remember there can only be one Ironhide from the 2007 version will always be one of the greats.

TFP was GOAT
While I have all the FE deluxe figures never had a chance of finding either the Prime or Bulkhead releases so had to settle for the mainline releases. Other than the garbage light up/retractable weapons I felt they were quite good engineering, and designwise to be suitable replacements. Never saw the Rumble or voyager Breakdown which I think were near the end before the theme changed over to Beasthunters. First time seeing the Cup/Ironhide as a Deluxe mold as I remember that only being a scout class for Ironhide. Essentially the same toy, smaller, and with transparent weapons.
Apc and Ac are pretty decent substitutes if you want the FE

Its kinda cool seeing First Edition (APC Takara recolour in your case) by the RID Optimus and seeing the comparison. APC clearly wipes the floor with the RID one, but hey if for whatever reason he was at a flea market for cheap and you don't have a TFP Optimus he's a good pick up.
Just saying, It would be cool if Apctoys gave us that Ironhide mold in voyager scale.
APC needs to get to work on 1st edition Bumblebee! It kills me that I never could find him, and I am NOT paying the eBay scalpers price. 😂
They should upscale the Commander version. Has better proportions in my opinion

Woohoo Transformers Prime my favourite!!! Really love the First Edition figures especially Optimus, Bulkhead and the RID Vehicon!
Also I used to have the TFP RID Voyager Optimus Prime version and ngl I much prefer the TFP First Edition Optimus Prime who looks wayyyyyy better in both robot and truck mode
Mostly amazing Transformers Prime toy during that time. Some of them could doing better attempt the engineering. Amazing, you manage to track down some exclusive Transformers Prime toys, especially the hardest one, Skyquake. Cool video, PrimevsPrime, transform and ROLL OUT 🤗!

The rumble frenzy mold is one I Need revisited I’m fine with them as tapes but as little shoebox cars that makes me sooOOoOo happy
I've combined pieces from the FE and RID molds for certain figures in my collection and you can definetely create defitive versions of these characters.

I remember while staying at my ex's place in Singapore one year I was in a Toy's R Us and just bought up a few of those first edition figures. I only really got Arcee, Bulkhead and Cliff Jumper though. They're so cool.
Well last time I checked Skywarp, Thundercracker, Rumble, Kup, and Ironhide never once appered in the Transformers Prime series. I mean yes Starscream made clones of himself but none of them were either Skywarp or Thundercracker. But hey! That's what they do! They make toys of transformers who were never in the movies or shows! They did it for the first movie, ROTF, DOTM, AOE, TLK, Bumblebee, and ROTB and they also did it for The Old G1 series, The Animated series, The Prime series, The Rescue Bots series, The Robots in Disguise series, The Cyberverse series, The Earthspark Series and all the serieses inbetween them!
Well well well, currently watching the entire series for the first time, just finished s2 and about to start s3
I'll keep saying it until it manifests! I hope they re-release Prime Soundwave and Shockwave

I really hope we can get a Legacy TFP Bumblebee, Cliffjumper, Arcee V.2, Optimus Prime, Megatron, Starscream, Vehicons (jet & car), Ratchet, & everyone else!!! I love TFP Bee's design, character & Car mode, I NEED him in Legacy! The only TFP figures I have are Legacy Bulkhead, Knockout, & Smokescreen (Legacy Silverstreak looks ALOT like Beast Hunters Smokescreen). I really want Legacy Dreadwing, he looks AWESOME!!

& a PERFECT design for Ironhide for the next Knight/Capleverse movies would be a combination of TFP Concept Ironhide, G1, & ofc BBM Ironhide!! It would be PERFECT! & his alt mode would be a red pickup truck, with an orange stripe down each side!
& SS100 Bee looks like a pretty decent stand-in for TFP Bee. I still need SS100 Bee.
I recently gotten Legacy Chase! Now I want to collect all of the police bots to create a police force. (other than animated Prowl cause he doesn’t look good with the characters I’ve chosen) such as Prowl (specifically siege) Strongarm (who is in stores right now) and Clampdown!
Man, watching this haul of TF:Prime toys bring back memories.
I admit First Edition was superior to the RID Prime toyline but imo I usually thought the Cyberverse subline was the fun part about TF:Prime's toyline since I use to have Optimus Prime and Breakdown from that line along with the Beast Hunter Optimus Prime and Abominus figures in Cyberverse scale as well when I was a kid lol.

I never got the oportunity to get any tfp toys when i was little, now that im seeking for them this video helps a lot
I didn't even imagine there was extra bots that weren't in the show, cool.
The clear plastic on Optimus’s and other Prime line figures’ hands was intentional.
The figures came with battery-bowered, illuminating, atrocities of hand-held weapons, that, when activated, illuminated the hands as well.
Even after 11 years, these figures are still the best in my opinion

Dreadwing and skyquake are full of clear plastic and they break super easly.😢😅😢😢😢😮😢😢

Still have the RID Bumblebee, and it's basically the only Prime figure that I currently own. Which sucks, but I don't have neither the money nor the space to collect more. In fact, when I had gotten the guy all those years ago, I wasn't even aware of the new show. I just saw an interesting looking Bumblebee figure at the store and asked mom to buy it.
I just recentely got the rid version of both Cliffjumper and Knockout and i think they're pretty good for the most part expect the fact that they're loose
Their main issue are both in the arms for some reason...(and Knockout's inaccurate paintjob)

The line that killed worldwide distribution. After TFP wasn't doing that good at retail, shops lowered the demand for the brand, taking only less expenisve/cheaper things. Siege was when things started doing much better and then kung flu happened.
I want this man to do a generations haul, there were some really good toys!

Damn it! How is it possible that 86 Core Class Rumble and Frenzy are down from the market so quickly!? I can't find these guys anywhere, and they go for ridiculous prices on Ebay!

5:21 FIRRIB was an animation error that became "canon" only in the western ver. of the cartoon. When Japan dubbed the cartoon, about a year after the west, they fixed Hasbro's error by turning them to FIBRIR aka toy colors!

The only TFP figures that I have is Cliffjumper and Steve (Vehicon). I do know the collectors shop near me haves that Optimus Prime for $30. I guess I could get. But as for the Seekers, even Starscream is expensive. Also, I do want Kup.
you need to find some beast hunter figures, smokescreen takara tomy is a great edition to the collection if you ask me.

Ah yes, the dark days of the RiD hollow figures. My collection is getting pretty out of hand. I'm at the point now where I only collect characters that actually appear in the TV shows or movies and characters that actually transform with some exceptions. I had a lot of these but sold them to trim down my collection.

2011 was the beginning of the "cheapening" of TF figures.
Obviously if they could, they would have put an extra hinge. I don't believe there to be "lazy" engineering, just the "incompetent" or budget constrained kind.
