Was close to getting that Voyager Sentinel Prime, but fortunately Studio Series announced their updated version and got that. Way better looking and better posing.
I only ever got the cyberverse commander sentinel because everything else was too expensive but commander sentinel was perfect. The roof actually looked like his cape in robot robot because some of the roof also turned into his shield and it all just worked so well
Oh I remember having this toy! I liked the mech tech weapon, but the figure had a lot of problems, like the paint, the backpack and the light piping being white.
Back in the day I got this just to have a Sentinel that scaled with my voyagers. I also took apart the backpack and used some wires to give him his v-cape and a shield. It may have even been somewhat decent with some paint, but I don't really miss it.
I got back into transformers when the first movie came. I loved a lot of the figures and the transformations were so fun and challenging sometimes. But then it was guys like this that had me make the change to 3rd party MP and takara Mp lol. I’m so glad hasbro has upped their designs and quality with studio series figures and even the Netflix series figures
Man, I still have this toy in my room (discarded and a bit broken but still intact). And honestly the only saving grace is the size matching most of the other toys I had (to my liking anyway) and it being cheaper than leader class.
@@therailfanman2078 I just got really lucky. Daily I check into Mercari to see if anyone's letting go some rare finds at a good price, and it was my time then. ;)
I remember having this as a kid and it was my favorite toy (sentinel was my favorite in the movies) and i was absolutely in love with it. Now that i look back at it, it was really bad, but i was a dumb kid, and i loved it, so thats all that matters lol
I get where you're coming from but most of the stuff you brought up doesn't bother me. The thing that keeps me from liking it is the way the front wheels work because idk how to transform them without prying on them and bending the plastic.
oh i remember i had this when i was a kid, i had a lot of fun with it i remember i would hold up the head to a light and the shadow would make him look like batman with the white eyes
I genuinely liked messing with the voyager. It was a clunky disproportioned mess but the plastic quality was pretty solid and the cannon was a big plus because you were able to actually lock it. Many of memories with this that I have to this day
For years, the only Sentinel I had was the commander figure. That's a solid figure, love it. His right thumb broke off but the sword still fits. A couple years ago, I managed to pick up Leader Sentinel for a good price, I think he's just missing that front part of his shield. That's an excellent figure! I was lucky enough to be able to buy the SS Sentinel when he released, so he's my main Sentinel now.
Somehow was able to get he Studio series for $70 brand new.... kinda expensive for a voyager but worth every single penny imo. It's also a shell former but a really cool one. Sort of remembers me the MPM 04 Optimus where the legs and the upper body transform separately and sandwich together for the vehicle mode.
@@_V.Va_ It's a robot that flips out a bunch of panels to cover his robot kibble and turns into a box. (And a cheater one because it parts-form with the blades) I think you don't understand the meaning of "shell - forming'. I'm not talking badly about it.
@@_V.Va_ If you think about it... mostly of the Bay formers are. But G1 toys in the other hand don't really need to panel form. They are already blocky and integrate most of the alt mode parts in robot mode.
I actually preferred Ironhide. Leader class Sentinal is great, but the transformation is so painful, tons of tiny breakable pegs, and not everything lines up at least on mine. I am glad to have my Sentinal Prime, but he is quite challenging
I remember as a kid going to target after watching the movie & eating at chiles buying this figure & absolutely loving the vehicle form but I hated the robot form.
Completely unrelated to this video, but you can reveal Kingdom Tigatron’s head in his beast mode. So Kingdom Tigatron can POOTH. We have a beast wars character that can POOTH.
I have had this since it came out and the only good thing i can say is that all the joints still hold up. Terrible articulation with the giant backpack, and my weapon stopped locking in
I agree! I knew that he was flawed and the chest was kinda lazy, but I really enjoyed transforming him. I very much played with him more than the big leader class one because that one is so panel-heavy and delicate with the thinner plastic and small pegs everywhere
Hey toy guy remember on your holy grail stream with galvatron I said that there was website that sold titans return fortress Maximus for $40 a maybe a week after that my dad and I found out it was a complete scam but my dad did get a refund and I looked at some fortress Maximus’s online and they sell for like $500 to like $800
Oh man I remember when I was tired of waiting for studio series to do sentinel prime so I decided to grab this figure off ebay. I resold it a day later. It's so shitty!
Oh yeah this one is a janky mess of a thing. I got it for decently cheap when I was trying to fill out a DotM mechtech shelf but holy heck I want to throw mine out. Probably keep the weapon though.
I don’t remember choosing the voyager bc I’m sure my dad got it for me and I found it recently but I don’t mind it but understand how the Studio series is better
I just got this figure and it comes in tomorrow. I know it looks bad and I just wanted it to have it because I had it when I was little. I’ll probably just put it in vehicle mode and display it with me other dotm stuff
I think my nephew the voyager when he was a year old don't know what happened last I remember he had shield. If he has some transformers he doesn't want i hope he'll let me know
I have this exact Sentinel Prime toy but I'm missing his gun and also the wheels are kind of I don't like how they trap how you're supposed transform them
I only was able to get the voyager and cyberverse toy when I was a kid. I did want the leader class but I could never find it.. And i winded up giving away the voyager class
You did him dirty he ain't that bad. By know means is he a good figure but hes alright. Also what situation do you need to be in to need a sentinel prime in a pinch ?
I purposefully bought that thing at the full 30$CAN plus taxes price at my local geek store. Why? Because it'S so weird, horrible, and complement the stellar Studio Series so much!
I had this figure for years and never figured out how to get it to transform Edit: I could transform it, but I always thought there was something more to do
I never knew the gun locked, but can't do it anymore due to me losing the gun, but I still have the figure. Edit: Last time I checked the Cyberverse Commander was around $110 US
This figure is pretty rough, I only had his Cyberverse commander figure but this thing looks like a downgrade from that. It’s not awful I’d say but it’s not good. By the way, how is that op leader situation going? Are you planning to get a replacement or replacement parts still or are you just done with the figure?
this is the only figure I have of him, and yeah he isn't that great, hell I tried to transform him yesterday and his chest broke and I had to really force one of the wheels to go into his chest I still kinda like him tho mostly cuz it was a birthday present and I just mostly have him in vehicle mode to display
I very like one of the first sentinal in the dark of the moon i really wanted it but i didn't get it yes at thing the leader i wanted it so bad but i didn't get it so yea
"If you need a Sentinal in a pinch"
Im very curious under what circumstances someone could need a toy of a specific transformers character in a pinch
🤣
If it’s the only one in scale I guess
If the Studio Series is completely unaffordable…
_I’m considering it._
@@Gojirawars03 yep same

This guy just has some really weird takes.
Though in comparison, this really is the worst Sentinel figure.
Bc of the accurate chest i guess

As a kid I struggle to put him in his vehicle form but looking back at it I could’ve kept it and use it for a stop motion
I actually got the SS the day after my birthday last year, for the typical voyager price point. I would want to get the leader, maybe just because.
"Goes in a box" [the box of purgatory!!]
But this sentinel does have ONE advantage over the leader class: the cannon, he does have a cool ass cosmic rust cannon
As someone that owns the SS Sentinel Prime, he’s good but he definitely needs a weapons upgrade kit tbh

I had this one!
Is it a good toy for you tho
Oh no. As do I. His right leg broke when I was young.
To me the Studio Series Sentinel prime is awesome because its so accurate to the movie and I also have the dna upgrade kit that completes him.
