My favorite way to do flying geese is with Deb Tuckers wing clipper tool. She has videos for all her tools.

Rob. I do my flying geese using Deb Tucker's Wing Clipper ruler. Look at her tutorial on using her ruler for accurate flying geese. She oversizes, by a few threads, her measurements to have accurate and true to size units for the projects. There is a ratio between the length and height of the unit. Deb Tucker rulers achieve that every time.

Love the video! I have made geese using magic method and rectangle and square block. I agree that I like the rectangle block better, but to make a large quantity it is quicker to use the magic method. Wish I had your energy. Guess I need more caffeine.🤣

Love your video. I used to be afraid of geese, or intricate designs using 1/2 square triangles because I could never get a consistent clean nesting of my seams. That was because I used to cut my squares exactly to the size indicated in a pattern. What I found was that by the time the seam was pressed, there was a loss of up to 1/8”on the side that was pressed over. That made trimming or squaring up a bit tricky. However, by cutting and extra 1/8” for the squares, there was some wiggle room to trim exact and perfect hst units. So thank you for showing version 2 of this tutorial. That is the method I now have best results with (as long as I give the small corner squares that extra 1/8” when cutting.)

? Hi Rob, would you do a comprehensive video on squaring up blocks that do not have a distinct or easy to identify centre? I find that I sometimes misjudge, and end up shaving a bit too much on one side or another, making it hard to nest adjoining blocks without cutting off points or design elements.
Large pieces are relatively easy, but small ones become very noticeable or wonky much quicker.
