Thanks Jenny for this quilt pattern. Looks easy. My son is home from the Army after 15 yrs..4 deployments in Iraq...1 in Kuwait..and 1 in Korea..He is out on medical discharge..So very proud of him and so relieved to have him home safe! So....I'm gonna do this quilt for him and call it "Coming home". Love all your tutorials. Thanks again.
..my son is in the Navy and just back from deployment in Korea. Unfortunately that won't be his last. So to keep my sanity and clean out his closet, I've been working on a flag quilt made with his old blue jeans. Jenny gave me inspiration for this in her video on using blue jean scraps for a beautiful and quite heavy quilt. His is stationed in Washington state, so I know he will need it! Although he is in flight training, I hope to get to give him his quilt by Christmas. I want to thank you and your son for the sacrifice you've made for our freedom and country. Sending your son off to unknown dangers with extremely difficult challenges is the hardest thing I've ever had to do. I thank the Lord everyday for every one of our soldiers and their families. And huge thank you to Jenny for sharing your wonder gifts. This "flight" quilt will be my next challenge. It reminds me of what he calls "his birds" in the air. God Bless
Wow, I love the support from one military mom to another. We appreciate all the hard work and dedication that come from our soldiers and their families. Again, please send your son the love and support from MSQC.
I'm loving this one! You used my favorite color scheme, too! For some strange reason, though, my head kept tilting to the right because I was seeing pine trees on a snow covered mountainside. It's another winner, Jenny!
I shall indeed! I've placed an order for Kona Cotton - Wondrous Woods for the trees and Comfort and Joy - Comfort Plaid Green for the border. My husband's going to love it!
Hi Jenny, congratulations to this quilt, also from Germany. I like to follow your tutorials so much, cause they are all made easy, so that a beginner can also sew it. Thank you so much for your engagement and efforts to all sewers. I was not a beginner, but I could go on learning so much more tricks from you, and that makes me thankful and happy. Thank you so much darling and stay in health please, Margaretha
How did I miss this video? It’s three years old and I know I’ve never seen it! Lol. Well, glad I found today! This is an awesome design! I can imagine all the random possibilities. No two quilts would ever be the same. Thanks for the inspiration!
Hi Jenny - you always manage to break to down to something easy! As a new quilter, I can't thank you enough. I recently finished my version of your Big Star quilt, and it wouldn't have happened without your guidance.
I've been trying to design a quilt in my mind of "Birds of the western sky" for my friend. Jenny, this is perfect! A bit of manipulation of block placement and I think I can get it to look very close to what I've been envisioning. Thank you so much for all you do!
Another great quilt. I love the randomness of it. This quilt design will help me think outside of the box. Thanks for another wonderful tutorial, Jenny!
Wow, when I saw this I was so excited! I love birds and quilting so this is so perfect. I will be having surgery in two weeks and will have to be at home at home for 4 to weeks 6-week w/ not driving so there will be a lot of down time. I know what I will be doing.
This looks so cool. I go to Mexico in the wintertime and I wanted to make a quilt for our apartment. This is the perfect one for that. Thank you for all your tutorials I really enjoy them. Thank you Jenny for your time, it's appreciated for me and you make things so easygoing.
Beautiful layout of the blocks. What a great way to show off a large print...something I love but have difficulty deciding what to do with once I get it home! As always your instructions are very clear and thorough. Thank you!
Jenny you never cease to amaze me at what you come up with! I love this quilt but flying geese always ALWAYS give me issues! i did make the stack and flip quilt though all in Fall colors and I so love it ! I will be making one in Christmas theme as well!
Oh Boy! Jenny you went & did it again, you added another quilt to my want to make list! I'm thinking of maybe a sky blue batik background instead of solid white.
Jenny , I want to do each quilt you show us how to do and I always say I can't wait to do this one. Lol I LOVE this quilt and I got to do one !! Lol😁😁😁❤
Love it Jenny! Since I need a generous king for my bed, I ordered the fat quarter bundle of this fabric so I'll have more than enough for the quilt top and some to make coordinating pillow shams.
These quilts are just awesome. I have never seen a quilt be made before, I arrived here in your channel searching for offensive right wing/conservative content, stuff like "do gay people have souls", and here I am, watching a wholesome quilt get made. Life is great.
Lots of blue already in the geese. Last time I saw a green sky, there was a tornado on the way! I've been considering a creamy grunge. Like a stormy sky, while the clouds are gathering up for rain.
I'm doing this one now but going to make two different pattern borders as had hard time deciding on fabrics as liked several. but need that ruler she used to block the 3"blocks. I'll post picture when completed. Thanks Jenny
Thank you Jenny, I really like your videos. I want to try this one but the thought of being so free relating to cutting the loop is a bit intimidating to me. I am so used to specific measurements and placements. Time to try something new.
Oh that's a delightful fun quilt. I am wondering if blocks could be made by cutting the stitched charm squares in 2 rather than in 4, then cutting just the background in half, or would you loose your points? Might have to try that.
Hi Jenny ... great tutorial, block design, and quilt. Quick question, I'm curious as to any piecing issues you may have considering the bias edge is on the outside of the 1/2 sq triangle square.
Man, wish I could have watched this before I made my shower curtain! Like this method for geese over the one I used. The three block method? Can't remember.
Yes, I dislike the other methods for making geese too. I have tried the 3 block one and a couple of others. This method looks great, I am going to try it for geese.
Jackie Goosen For speed you can't beat the three block geese, but those bias edges make it hard to square up. When I want very accurate geese I always use Eleanor Burns' method but it takes a bit longer to make them. It depends what your project is, I suppose.
If you sew off the edge and start back on as quarter inch....then it would be more perfect then stopping at corner and turning,,,cause all fabric is not perfect square. And also sometimes I may stop off on my corner, like one corner I may stop at one needle down to many and other corner I may stop to soon....just a thought....or maybe I just can't sew.....lol.....love your quilt.....
Love this quilt! Am currently making a quilt with 1200 half square blocks ( very small). Am currently squaring up each one by cutting all 4 sides. Noticed that you only cut 2 sides. Will try your method, it was wondering if only cutting 2 sides, does that make one triangle side bigger than the other? Not sure if I explained that well, but would love to only square up two sides of block I stead of all four sides. ThT would really help on time and effort. Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks!
Can anyone tell me what the name of the quilt in the background of the still shot of Jenny at the end is? It's got colourful 4x4 squares and a kind of grey and white diamond effect. Scroll to 10:37 and you'll see what I mean! It's GORGEOUS!!!!
Jenny does not prewash any of her fabrics. Fabric has come a long way and is generally made with a better quality that minimizes shrinkage. However, when you do wash a quilt top for the first time I recommend washing it on cold and hanging to dry.
Jenny Jenny Jenny,, I almost got more gray hairs ;) You tell me that the 4 geese unit will be 5 1/2 x 12 1/2 that will never be. We have 4 single geese , each 3 ". 4 x 3 gives 12, and then deducht 3 x 1/4 inch, so the 4 geese unit can max be 11 1/4 inch. Love ryour tutorials ;)

So happy to hear that your son is home safe. Please thank him for his services to our country, all of MSQC appreciates him and all of our soldiers.
Wow, I love the support from one military mom to another. We appreciate all the hard work and dedication that come from our soldiers and their families. Again, please send your son the love and support from MSQC.
Be sure to let your son know that we are thankful for his service to our country and for your sacrifices as well. Take care.
29 people thumbs down, how is that even possible? Jenny, you are great teacher and presenter, I love watching your videos.
Dont major ont he minors. There are malcontents everywhere and we don't need them on a quilting page. Go Jenny...xxx
I'm loving this one! You used my favorite color scheme, too! For some strange reason, though, my head kept tilting to the right because I was seeing pine trees on a snow covered mountainside. It's another winner, Jenny!
So maybe you could make this in shades of green and turn it 90 degrees, and voila! Pine Trees in the Snow!
Yep and border it with a Winter theme fabric.
Ladies, what great ideas!! I hope you make these changes to your quilts and share images with us on social media!
I shall indeed! I've placed an order for Kona Cotton - Wondrous Woods for the trees and Comfort and Joy - Comfort Plaid Green for the border. My husband's going to love it!
lovely Jenny I have so much fun watching you and the lovely quilts you and the girls make

I love this one! The colors don't compete with each other. I think it's beautiful, scrappy but not confusing. Well done!
How did I miss this video? It’s three years old and I know I’ve never seen it! Lol. Well, glad I found today! This is an awesome design! I can imagine all the random possibilities. No two quilts would ever be the same. Thanks for the inspiration!
wow, love Flying Geese, this is a keeper...fall is at our door and the projects are imminent...thank you for another winning video.
Wow Jenny! Fastest sewing machine re-threader ever!
Brilliant as always...I'm going to use as a border for my husbands Bison panel.....thank you Jenny
Hi Jenny - you always manage to break to down to something easy! As a new quilter, I can't thank you enough. I recently finished my version of your Big Star quilt, and it wouldn't have happened without your guidance.
That is THE most gorgeous color of fabric! I love those purples and blues. Can't wait to try this one.
Thank you Jenny..........This is a wonderful quilt pattern, very modern, a lot of open space for machine quilting.......
Wow, when I saw this I was so excited! I love birds and quilting so this is so perfect. I will be having surgery in two weeks and will have to be at home at home for 4 to weeks 6-week w/ not driving so there will be a lot of down time. I know what I will be doing.

I really love this looped technique to create the movement. Thank you!
I gotta say, I love this pattern! Am going to do it for my good friend J. Thanks Jenny!!
Love this quilt. I like the randomness too!
Oh Boy! Jenny you went & did it again, you added another quilt to my want to make list! I'm thinking of maybe a sky blue batik background instead of solid white.
I love that idea!
I wish people could add a thumbnail pic of their quits here so we can enjoy the colour variations
Love the modern feel yet timeless look of this quilt. Another Winner!
Thank you very much for your easy method of tutorials.
Gorgeous flying geese version! I love it!
Jenny , I want to do each quilt you show us how to do and I always say I can't wait to do this one. Lol I LOVE this quilt and I got to do one !! Lol😁😁😁❤

Love this quilt. Jenny you do an awesome job teaching. The extra tips are so helpful. Cannot wait to get started.
Jenny I love this it's so easy can't wait to get started on one.
I just got 4 Grunge charm packs as a birthday present....guess what 2 of them are going to be? Love this quilt !
These quilts are just awesome. I have never seen a quilt be made before, I arrived here in your channel searching for offensive right wing/conservative content, stuff like "do gay people have souls", and here I am, watching a wholesome quilt get made. Life is great.
Another beautiful quilt to add to my bucket list!
Stunning creation MSQC!!!!
Very nice work. I'm so thankful that Darlene sent me.
Love the simple lines and elegance of this design....I'm going to make a wall quilt. Thanks!
Lots of blue already in the geese. Last time I saw a green sky, there was a tornado on the way! I've been considering a creamy grunge. Like a stormy sky, while the clouds are gathering up for rain.
Wow, I really like that idea!
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE YOUR TUTORIALS!! Very easy to follow and learn!!
Love this quilt. I'm going to try it. I noticed Jenny using a different sewing machine today.
Always a joy to learn from you! Thanks for your cheerful spirit! :)
I love this it is so cute
Ooh I really love this one!
I think this would look good with different size geese thrown in. Might try mixing a layer cake and a charm pack.
I love that idea!!
Reminds me of the Thunderbirds and the Blue Angels.
So pretty and looks doable for me being a newbie. 😊
Beautiful quilt Jenny!!
I'm doing this one now but going to make two different pattern borders as had hard time deciding on fabrics as liked several. but need that ruler she used to block the 3"blocks. I'll post picture when completed. Thanks Jenny
Thanks Jenny
love this one,
I LOVE my 2.5" ruler!!!
Thanks for a beautiful quilt. But when will you make a double wedding ring quilt.??Please make one
Jenny has that one on her list of things to do but finding a simple way to create that pattern is quite difficult but she isn't giving up! :)
Beautiful
Great job 👍🏻
Hi and thanks a lot! This is so cool! 🌸🌸
Love the colors! The background contrast is a little too much for me, but I can't honestly think of what to use that would be better
Pale blue or green maybe. I like the white, but can also picture it with a mint green, very light mint green background.
oh that would be beautiful! I love seeing changes be made to the background color because it changes the look of the whole quilt! SEW fun!
Gracias por compartir, hermoso tutorial me encantó😃💕
Asslam,u,Alaikum........Thanks anti ...I'll definitely buy from here..love you Jenny anti...
Your amazing
Thank you Jenny, I really like your videos. I want to try this one but the thought of being so free relating to cutting the loop is a bit intimidating to me. I am so used to specific measurements and placements. Time to try something new.
Oh that's a delightful fun quilt. I am wondering if blocks could be made by cutting the stitched charm squares in 2 rather than in 4, then cutting just the background in half, or would you loose your points? Might have to try that.
I would love to use this technique for a boarder!
I need to make a King and I love this idea!! I wonder if I use 10in blocks/Layer Cakes how big it would be? Maybe I'll try it!
I would love to see you do a Card Trick quilt. I'm sure you could show an easy way to it.
Thank you so much for your recommendation! We too hope that Jenny will create one of those soon! Stay tuned!
Hi Jenny ... great tutorial, block design, and quilt. Quick question, I'm curious as to any piecing issues you may have considering the bias edge is on the outside of the 1/2 sq triangle square.
With them going sideways like that, it makes me think of tropical fish swimming in a line.
Man, wish I could have watched this before I made my shower curtain! Like this method for geese over the one I used. The three block method? Can't remember.
Yes, I dislike the other methods for making geese too. I have tried the 3 block one and a couple of others. This method looks great, I am going to try it for geese.

Woohooo~!~!
Beautiful quilt! Did one of those geese peck you on your ring finger knuckle...... I noticed it was swolen. Hope it all better soon!
Darlene sent me over, love your channel so just subbed
Love the tutorial, Jenny. I will be making this one. Love that machine you are now using, is it a Juki?
working on this now, except i am using two Kona 5 inch square packs in multi colors.
I Love you
I'd love to know what brand of scissors you like. The main colored handle ones. Thanks.
I was looking at your checkered desdren quilt. What if you would sew the strips then just cut the Arch to make the Double Wedding Ring.🐶😍🍹
I always have so much fun trying out different techniques, I hope you find one that works best for you!
Thanks!
Asslam,u,Alaikum...jenny anti h r u,??? Good work as usual MASH ALLAH
Can anyone tell me what the name of the quilt in the background of the still shot of Jenny at the end is? It's got colourful 4x4 squares and a kind of grey and white diamond effect. Scroll to 10:37 and you'll see what I mean! It's GORGEOUS!!!!
Benn Brisland it's the sunny skies quilt and you can find the tutorial here ruclips.net/video/wvsAzg-FzxA/видео.html
This might make a nice border.
Meu Deus. Lindo. Muito difícil.
Sew cut!
What do you do about shrinkage of finished quilts. Do you prewash the fabric?
Jenny does not prewash any of her fabrics. Fabric has come a long way and is generally made with a better quality that minimizes shrinkage. However, when you do wash a quilt top for the first time I recommend washing it on cold and hanging to dry.
Would this be the one to use clearly perfect rulers
What do you do if you don't have the block lock ruler?
I’m. Making this with 7 geese 4 wide..king quilt...
I am going to. Ake this with green for trees
Be sure to post a picture of your finished quilt, I'm sure we would all like to see it, I know I would. Let us know where we can see it, FB, etc.
Hey I enjoy your video on fying geese. Where can I buy the rurler u used to square up the geese .
I would like to buy an iron like yours also
Im thinking, Maori fabrics for geese and calling the quilt, 'flight of the kiwis'
My wish is for a squaring up, dedicated ruler that would give a 3/8 inch leeway/margin from point/sky side ....rather than traditional 1/4 in. NM
I like to make this for a twin bed
Do you sell that block loc ruler?
Colleen Ross I'm pretty sure they do
We sure do! Here is the link: www.missouriquiltco.com/shop/detail/7618/bloc-loc/-/bloc-loc-4-12-square-up-ruler
Wooo, I'll have to wait until they go way down in price!
Missouri Star Quilt Company wow hope that ruler goes on sale? Too expensive
Or you can use a regular square ruler... just hold it firmly along the 45degree line, and cut carefully and steadily. You'll get the same result.
Olá boa tarde eu moro no Brasil, gostaria de saber qual é o centímetros dos quadrados, obrigada.
Please do a tutorial on "card trick". It must be simple for you, but I can't figure it out.
