We're so glad you enjoyed it! Here's the chart that Jenny used in the video! www.missouriquiltco.com/land/tutorials/bargello-quilt/assets/bargello-template.pdf
Jenny , my dear. I made a Bargello years ago, like you I made only one. If I had your direction I would have made more. It is fascinating to watch you take over those difficult quilts a simplified them. That is why I never get tired of your videos. Thank you. Hope to make the trip again to MSQC this fall.
Made a Bargello quilt years ago before 2-1/2 strips and color/fabric selection is a challenge. Jenny, thank you for this tutorial - I may just try my hand at a Bargello quilt again using your wonderful technique.
Oh Jenny, you will never know how simple you have made this bargello pattern look. I have bought many books over the years trying to get up my nerve to make one but was too nervous that I would goof up. After watching your tutorial I am going to jump in with both feet and give it a try. Thanks once again for demystifying the bargello for me.
Jenny, you’re the best. I had hopped you'd someday do a bargello but I thought you wouldn't because you teach in simple and all the tutorials I've watched on how to do this are elaborate and complicated. Your method of laying it out to eyeball and verify that you have the stairs sure beats numbering every little step I make. I purchased the Morning Melody pattern quit some time ago, 3 jelly rolls (Sparkling Waters Colorstory, Galaxy Pixie Strip, and Clear Skies, all from MSQC because I want to make this quilt so badly. And you came through for us ladies again. You took complex and simplified it so those of us who want to tackle above our skill (or confidence ) level can do it. You are a treasure Jenny. I'll even go so far as to say you are "Missouri's Star", and all the states love you. Thank You again.
Jenny, you are the BEST! You are funny and talented, you make mistakes like the rest of us, and make the quilts look easy enough that even a newby like me can do it! Keep going, Girl!
Thank you, Jenny, for doing this tutorial! I asked you if you would and I'm so happy that you did! Looking forward to trying this out! One of the things that I love about your tutorials is that you show how quilting doesn't have to be like 😨😠😢😭; it can actually be more like 🍭🌻🌞📯🎶 when it comes to the more complicated patterns. 💖👍
i have had lessons on this quilt but avoided making it because the instructions were hard to follow but your a miracle this is so much easier thank you
First, let me say how much I love watching your videos. How would I make this into a king size quilt? My 6’ 5” grandson has requested a “Northern Lights” type of quilt with black for his graduation gift. Bargello would be perfect for this. How many strip sets would it take?
Outstanding video Jenny! You are so much easier to learn from than a paper pattern! I've attempted the Bargello years ago, and it still sits in a bin unfinished. So glad, you've done a tutorial on this pattern! I'm going to give it another try!
This is keeper. Thanks Jenny. You have given me the push, I needed, to make one. It is so nice how you take the fear out of experimenting with different patterns. Kudos to you and your staff !!!
Jenny, I absolutely love to watch your videos. You sure can tell how much you love to quilt. It's been so long since I've quilted and or bought any fabric, but I love jelly rolls, cake layers etc.
My granddaughter would love this pattern in purples. Question. What is the name/brand of your pink iron? I'm not certain if I'm seeing correctly, but I dont notice that you back stitch at end of what your sewing? I'd like to avoid the extra step if it's possible. I enjoy every single video you do. Thank you for helping me improve my skills. P.S. I struggle with colors/shades as well!
It reminded me of an aunt of mine that lived in New York and used to sew a lot. I went to visit her from Puerto Rico when I was 18 and she wanted to sew something for me. I already knew how to sew but I started to look at her. She tried a pair of pants and when she had to fix something she took the fabric and rip it really hard. The first thing that cross my mind was, this woman is not sewing for me again! hahahahahaha
Hahahahaha! I am new quilter and I made one of these! It was a piece of cake. I haven't quilted it yet, but tacked it on the wall anyway, I love it. I have learned a bit of quilting, and will quilt it soon, yay!
WOW!!! this has been on my bucket list for years but every pattern I've found was so complicated, thank you soooooo much for making this easy. you're the best!
Years ago our patchwork pressident wrote bargeldlos Books .I Never did one, because I had 3 little children .Now I like to do. one. The differente colorways are Wonderfull..I like the idea of how it Looks in a Äther colors .Thanks for the Tutorials from Germany!!!
The bargello is on my quilting "bucket list". I'm currently working on one that is a "no measure" bargello so once I finish it, I'll try this technique. I love the look of them! Thanks for a new technique to try.
OMG!! LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE!! You make the most difficult looking quilts seem utterly doable! I can't wait to try this. FANTASTIC tutorial! Thank you!!
Jenny, Just love this, we had a teacher come in and taught this class, and I just could not get it. When you did it, omg, it worked. Thank you so very much Love it Love it
I've been wanting to try this quilt for sometime. It always intemidated me. You make it "sew" simple and easy to understand. Thank you for such another awesome tutorial.
Thank you Jenny, now, I think I can do this! I have always been intimidated by this quit project. You make it look so much easier than I thought it would be. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👍
Just about to make this and realised that if your contrast piece is white/very light, you need to attach it to the dark colours, so instead of running from dark to light down the quilt, it needs to run from light to dark! I guess this will make it look slightly different. The purple quilt displayed in the video would have shown this, but it was not held up so the difference could not be seen. Still a great tutorial.....can’t wait to see how it turns out!
great job Jenny. Love bargello, you never really know what you are going to get until the end. I made a purple batik one with patterned fabric but the design really stands out with the solids.
Jenny I really loved your enthusiasm which this tutorial. I made a 7 strip table runner, watching you do the quilt makes me want to make the quilt. Thank you!
I have always wanted to make the Bargello, but was afraid it was to complicated. Thank you for sharing your talent! I will be making one of these beautiful quilts now!! 😍
16:01 Thank you so much!! I can usually visualize something reading it through a few times but the tube just wasn’t jelling until I watched your tutorial! Eureka I get it now!
Jenny, you are so detailed. thank you so much for sharing. I am a new quilter so i had to view several times and listen carefully. this is on my list of projects
Oh wow, bargello is another blast from the past going for me to the late 80s and early 90s. I remember how popular this pattern was back when I was young. Nice to see it again! The method you are showing is exactly what I remember, but doing this with jelly rolls is genius! Such a game changer! I remember how intimidating it was just to pick out all the different fabrics. Btw, I feel like you must be aware, so I apologize in advance, but just in case, they sell little cards made of see thru tinted material that helps people like us see the tone of the fabric so we can tell which is darker.
Love this pattern Jenny thank you so much for showing us how to do this can't wait to do this and I love that you have the same problems I do on angles and colors it just makes me feel much better in trying to do what I do and what I love to do thank you
STUNNING.. THANK YOU.. I've always wondered how they made this awesome stunning.. and gosh,, it so simple.. THank you Jenny for showing us (me too) on this stunning making quilt..
Jenny you make it seem so easy. I can't wait to try this. I've been so afraid to try it. You are to funny blowing your instructions on the floor you made me laugh it's like we're in the same room. Thanks so much. Sue
Thanks for all the great ideas!! I love the look of the piping and using the glue stick to secure the binding in place. Make it seem so easy! Oh and doing the corners is very slick as well. Thanks again!
I am in the process of making my bargello and it is easy so far, getting it laid out now, next sewing the strips in order by inches hope I get it right!
Great video. I want to make a queen size quilt and bought two of the same jelly roll sets. I've never done a bargello quilt before but I like to try new patterns in between my favorite log cabin and triple irish chain go-tos. Also first jelly rolls I've ever bought.
You are so right using the strips in color coordination will make this super. I have an old pattern Sewing with Nancy. Her pattern is very similar. But as usual you have made it easier. Loving it! Thank you. I found you last year in a quilting magazine that had a feature article on you. Boy, when I found you I spent hours and days just watching. I have been quilting for years. But until I found you I really was lost. So, thank you. I'm sure daily you help another person learn yes they can quilt. You are seriously sweet. Thank you so very much. Maybe I should have wrote you a letter! I crack my self up.
Thank you for making this scary quilt a little less so :) and for the chart too .. definitely gonna give it a whirl .. love all your tutorials .. God bless you
This makes so much sense to me now! I have a pattern and my fabric for one and its just been sitting there forever because I have been so confused. Thank you for making this video!
Thank you for another great video! I sewed the red, green and white stripes for my first bargello quilt a couple months ago but I have not been sure about the cutting. Your video has helped a lot with a few others I have seen. I hope to work on mine in the next couple months. Thanks for the great directions! Your quilts are beautiful!
WOW!! I always thought this was too hard for me to do. I've got the picture of a Christmas runner that is this pattern, and now I can try it. THANK YOU!!
I have always wanted to try a Bargello quilt because I like the movement in them. I want to try your method with the lavender fields, but instead of white, I want to use a floral print for the contrasting fabric. I think it would be really nice.
I think Bargello is beautiful, but I never thought I could do it. I think I might try it now. I saw a huge Bargello quilt I loved in a quilt shop in Ohio's Amish country. I can't remember the Real name of it, but it was beautiful.
Love this! Wish I could have seen what the actual quilt pattern you used for such a dramatic piece pattern. Thank you might actually try quilting after seeing this.
Jenny, my first thought on this was, oh! If she could do this she could do trip around the world. I have Ellen's "trip around the world". I haven't done it yet. I have a pic of an old quilt that is around the world. But it is more square and each trip around is a different color. You and you trip are so brilliant, I'm hoping you can do it.
G'day Jenny. Love love your tutorials. Lol I watch a new one (or 3) each day and every time I think "yep that's the pattern for my next quilt". You make everything look so easy and I love how you also make it look so much fun. I'm very much new to quilting(finished 2 so far) but omg, I'M HOOKED. Now if only I could actually decide WHICH pattern I like best......🤗😀👏🤔 🤡😎thank you Jenny for feeding my new addiction in such fun and happy tutorials 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤡. Ps...thinking today...Bargello is looking 😊
You are the Bob Ross of quilting! Thank you for making quilting fun!
This will be your most popular quilt tutorial EVER..these look so complicated and you have simplified it immensely. ..great job!!!
Kim Fillmore... I agree! I've been hoping Jenny would make a Bargello and now it's here! Can't wait to give this a go.

Jenny, I would never be brave enough to rip those seams apart like that! If I were to rip my fabric I'd cry!
That's okay! You can use your seam ripper! ;)
omg I thought the same thing when she did that lol
First, let me say how much I love watching your videos.

Gives a whole new meaning to seam ripping.... i cringed at the first one, then realized it might be a good stress reliver for tackling this project :)
It can be therapeutic! Try it on some scraps first! ;)

Very impressive . Thanks for your tutorial.
You've given me the confidence to try a bargello! Thank you!
I have got to try this! Thanks, Jenny.

Thank you Jenny you are so inspiring
I did one in red black white gray it really got to your eyes I gave it away to one of my husband's gril she still loves it
I'm a total novice at quilting, but I've made barjello quilts. They're very forgiving of mistakes. They can be quite free-form & artistic.
you are correct......one of the easiest patterns out there, yet so much potential with color
Thanks Jenny! You made this look so simple. I’m excited to make the Whale Tail pattern I bought now.
Wow! I think I may have to try this one. I so enjoy your tutorials,Jenny.
If you iron each seam opposite the one before when making your strip sets, your seams will always nest without any re-pressing.
I have been saving this jelly roll! Now I know what I'm going to do with it. Good and easy instructions. Thank you!
I have always wanted to try a Bargello quilt because I like the movement in them. I want to try your method with the lavender fields, but instead of white, I want to use a floral print for the contrasting fabric. I think it would be really nice.
Made it. Love it. Gonna do it again. Thank you!
Yes! I've been waiting for a bargello tutorial! Love them!
WOW THANK YOU ONCE AGAIN FOR
MAKING THIS EASY :) YOU ARE AWESOME
I think Bargello is beautiful, but I never thought I could do it. I think I might try it now. I saw a huge Bargello quilt I loved in a quilt shop in Ohio's Amish country. It was at my favorite quilt shop there. They told me what the name of it was, but I said it looked like ribbon candy. They all agreed with me. I can't remember the Real name of it, but it was beautiful.
Wow, this is beautiful! You took something complicated and simplified it. Thanks for sharing with us.
I made a Bargello recently at a workshop here in the uk, the tutor ripped start the seams too. I was quite shocked, but you get used to doing it!
Fab,fab, fab!!! Thank you for making this so easy. Xx
First comment yay!!! Love you Jenny!
Thank you very much ! I can"t wait to try to sew it myself.
You explained that wonderfully I am gonna try this one!
That's great, Denise! Let us know how it goes! :)
