I really really like how you so simplify everything. Your instructions are really easy to follow. You don't skip anything, assuming that the people watching automatically know what you're talking about. I've watched a few others that just left me bewildered. I'm so glad I kept searching and came across your video. Thank you very very much!! I'm sorry, I don't see where the link is for the design wall.
I forgot to link it in the description!! Thank You so much for those amazing kind words. I am adding in the link for the design wall, but you can find it here: ruclips.net/video/tLCWwiSgcqI/видео.html
LOL, I love the pun!!! There are a lot of quilters that will die on the hill of iron seams open or iron seams towards the dark fabric. I personally like the easy and fast method that makes sure seams line up as well!
You have done an incredible job of explaining this. I really appreciate your being so thorough in every step. This is the only tutorial I have watched that makes me feel I can accomplish a bargello quilt. Thank you for sharing, you are a pleasant personality to follow along with.
Thank You so much!!! I know how hard it was when I first started sewing to find tutorials that would explain things to me, so I REALLY try to explain in ways everyone can understand
Great Tutorial - nicely done! Thanks a lot. Actually I would not have choosed the Bargello, but as I promised a Marriage Quilt and asked, what wishes they had (Color + Style) my niece and her husband came up with a Bargello. What a surprise to me! I had also a graduated fabric in the eye, dropped it now - thank you for the hint about that.
Yup. This is why I joke that words are hard. As a major neuro-divergent person I mix up a lot of words. I didn't want to refilm everything when I saw that. (Would have been a few hours of work for that one wording).
brilliant, one day i will get round to making one of these, ..however when you first make your strip set tube, if you iron one up the next down the next up and so on, they'll automatically nest, when cut into vertical strips (the seam between 3/4 will be the opposite when joined to 4/5 or 2/3 and thus nest) , saves having to re,iron this only works with an even number of strips...
Lol I was going to say the same thing. That’s the way I’ve seen other you tubers do it but you’re the only one that I’ve seen that explains how to make up your own pattern. I want to make an ocean beach scene quilt for my niece.
You can get the plastic table covers with the soft felt like on the reverse from like JoeAnn Fabrics, by the yard, cheep and works good. Just use the fluffy felt on the reverse to use as a design wall. I have been using mine for 7 years or more and still works great. Think at that time .99 a yard so 2 yards is plenty. Happy sewing.
I meant to say how you showed me. My question is how do I make a beach color at the bottom with ocean colors at the top? I’ve seen pictures but can’t find a pattern so I need to design my own.
I dont have 2 jelly rolls etc..I have 56 different strips, lots of close in colour but not pattern all batiks , I’m wanting to make a lap size what’s the best way of figuring out how to make this work?
Hi Debbie! If you skip to the video time stamp of design I show you how to lay out the design of the quilt. If you are using strips that are 2.5", then you want to use 2 inches as your finished size for length, divide the length you want by 2 and that will be the number of strips in your tube!

Again, Thank You!! I cannot wait to get started on my Bargello Quilt now that I'm not afraid to try one.
Just watched a video on this same type of quilt and she ironed all her seams open. I thought that seamed (no pun intended lol) like a lot of work!!

I LOVED the different path the quilt took because of the variagated fabrics!

A easy way to make a design wall is tack up a picnic table cloth with the fuss side facing out . And you have a great size design wall 😊
Great idea! I mentioned this in my design wall video! I absolutely love when people use a picnic tablecloth and they are so low cost!!
I use flannel. But that sounds even more fussy!
Your video is the best! I come back to this video every bargello I make! Thanks
Wow, thank you!
What a wonderful video! Thank you for the simplified design tool tips using Excel.
You're very welcome!
Very, VERY good explanation! Just so you know, tauNt means to tease or bother, and taut means to hold something tight.

@@Quiltoni Got it!!! :)
Your video was great. I’m what to make a Bargello quilt. Trying to learn
Thank You!!
BEST. VIDEO. EVER. Perfect! I’m excited to try
Hi from South Africa love 💕 “Bargello”
the movement in the patterns are beautiful
I’m glad i found ur link

Learned so much on your tutorial on Bargello. Thank you.

I like this tutorial
they must have run out of that jelly roll, looks so pretty. Thank you for your video. New Subscriber.
Thank you!!! Im beginning to finally understand!!!
These bargello quilts are so beautiful, but omg - it would help to be OCD to make one. Mine turned out OK, but - never again!
Now that you know the techniques behind it, try a pattern! If you follow it then you don't need to be OCD.
I use a picnic tablecloth. I place the back of tablecloth facing out and tack it on your wall Quick n easy
I love the picnic tablecloth method!! I mention it in my design wall video!
Excellent tutorial, from a fellow nerd TD-2441 501st Legion Sandtrooper ;)
Just love your tutorial.
Thank you so much!
Nice❤
I love how you should me how to design my own bargello. It’s complicated but I think I can do it.
I have faith in you!! I would LOVE to see your finished quilt when you make it!
I meant to say how you showed me. My question is how do I make a beach color at the bottom with ocean colors at the top? I’ve seen pictures but can’t find a pattern so I need to design my own.
Have you tried the design techniques I showed in the video? each color gets a number and cut and sew based on the number.
Quiltoni ok I will try that. I wish I could visualize it before I cut.
Quiltoni thank you.
So, like painting... quilting has no mistakes just happy little accidents?
(And I love the finished result! So colorful!)
Of Course!! Creating art in any medium is creating. "Mistakes" lead to learning and more mastery of your skill.
👋🙂🇦🇺thanks for sharing with us ❤
My pleasure 😊

@@Quiltoni thank you sew much! I may need another strip or 2 of golds or 🤷🏼♀️ lol. I appreciate your response!
😳😳😳😳I don’t want super complicated but I want the wavy wavy. (My design wall doesn’t hold my strips. My fabrics keep falling off too)
If your design wall is having issues, pin them in place. I put a pin in the top of each strip if it just doesn't want to stay.
What jelly roll did you use please? Tx
It was an old Robert Kaufmann Batik roll that is no longer available unfortunately that I have been able to find.

What was her favorite book
If you click on the "more" under the video it has links to all the patterns and books I recommend!
Ombré jelly roll
Yup. Words are hard.
thank you for this tutorial! can you tell me the name of the jelly roll and where I can get it?
thanks
