If you don’t like the Alternate Start mod everyone in the comments is recommending (I don’t, personally), then here is what I do to skip the ungodly long carriage ride at the start of the game: wait through it, and as soon as you get off the carriage, you will notice the game makes an auto save. This, essentially right before you make your character, is the earliest you can possibly make a hard save, and it will be saved under the character name “Prisoner”. Whenever I want to start a new game in Skyrim, I just load that save up and make my character, then you get to the part where you actually get to play the game a lot faster. Another good thing to note is that you don’t have to stand around and wait for character dialogue during this intro sequence, and you don’t actually have to go with Hadvar or Ralof once you’re in the keep, you can just run off without them once your hands are unbound. Makes the whole experience way quicker and let’s you get into the meat of whatever challenge or play through you’re doing much faster. Hope this helps.
Commenting below to guess if you can win or not: Seeing how sneaky bow builds are literally some of the most broken things with no investment to gear or enchants and stuff and only few levels, I do not see this challenge being that difficult... Basically, if you manage to trap their souls, you can use them as summons later, creating an ever-expanding necromancer's army.
Since you’re doing a gen 2 ditto run, it might be helpful for you to know that pink bow boosts struggle by 10% because while the damage is typeless it’s still technically normal type.

1:25 - oh, well that answers the One Question i had-- "how would you Talk to people, instead of Picking their Pocket?"...other than that, i spent most of my Skyrim playthroughs in Sneak just as a way to passively raise the stat...then, once you get your Sneak level high enough (or, with glitches/exploits, super-Fortify yiur Sneak skill through potion or enchantment) youll basically disable most NPC AI, and youll get to see how they behave and act when youre not around (cuz to them, you ARENT around)...also, the Dark Brotherhood's hand-clothing (either the Gloves or Handwraps) doubles your Sneak-Attack damage, and a Sneak Perk makes Daggers do 15x damage...combine the two, and use a strong base Dagger, and youll be one-shotting most NPCs with a whopping THIRTY-TIMES damage...
I know stealth archery is 'boring' by most people's standards, but it would be the ideal way to do this. There's a perk in the stealth tree, which you can cheese up sneak levels in the entrance cave or at High Hrothgar, that lets you do a sneak roll that's almost as fast as sprinting. Bosmer or Wood Elf wood be the ideal race with the Thief Stone. I enjoy stealth archery, so I think this would be a fun challenge to do to see how often I actually stand up.
Yeah the dude will grind for 12 hours straight in pokemon games to keep the rules going, but in this he can't even be bothered to level up that shout to get around the second mission puzzle. Low effort and failed challenge in my book.
not gonna lie, all I was thinking during this challenge was: "Skyrim AE's Bow of Shadows would solve 99% of his problems lmao" great video tho, discovered your channel recently and I'm loving your TES challenges
A little tid bit for doin a magic playthrough of skyrim: the flames spell that you start off with is by far the most magicka efficient spell in the game, cause like half of its damage comes from the burn effect. If you just hold down the attack button until just after you actually shoot the flames and then release the attack button, you'll apply the burn effect after only consuming like 2 or 3 magicka. When the burn effect wears off, just reapply it.
I Recommend going to the Talos Shrine by the First Bandit Camp, their is a 'Dead' Thalmor Agent that has TWO enchanted items on him, the first is his robes, while the second is Random enchantment, getting it is Idea for anyone starting a new Character.
If you can get it set up, Plague von Karma has a hack for Gen 1 Pokemon called the Kanto Expansion pack, basically everything tied to Kanto from Regional versions to Beta Pokemon to things that were just promo art, all loving back ported to Gen 1 mechanics. Seems like something you would both appreciate and be able to do content in.
12:09 Ustengrav. It’s promounced “ooo-sten-gr-ah-v”. I tend to drop the space in between gr and ah, but that was the best way I could think of to show pronunciation for that bit
I came across this challenge trying to find a different one that apparently doesn’t exist: can you beat Thieves Guild and Brotherhood questlines without sneaking? If you feel like it, I would love to watch a challenge like this! As long as you can pick locks and murder everyone in the way, should be pretty hard but technically doable.
Become Ethereal would probably have made parts of this much easier. You get a word in Ustengrav, so it's pretty easy to get. There's also a glitch that lets you use the Silent Roll without having the perk. I believe you hold sprint while sneaking then press block (or vice-versa).
I think part of the reason that the bow was doing more damage then the fire bolt is because of how sneaking works with it. As far as I know, even when the enemy is semi aware of you while you’re crouched, you keep doing 2x damage due to sneak attacks. Unless they’re fully aware of your presence, it seems from personal experience that you’ll always do sneak attack damage to them. I’m not certain though, so take this with a grain of salt. Still a really fun run though
Seems like you can win. Easiest way for many situations is just to use Fury and level Illusion magic. Shame Skyrim doesn't treat stealth destruction magic the same as stealth archery, which is something I never understood and just mod stealth magic into the game when I play.
I was really hoping at some point he'd explain why he chose to spec into a destruction magic spell that the toughest enemies he'd face resisted over anything that levels up sneak or benefits from sneak attack but I guess that's just a little bonus challenge
Idea for future Pokemon randomiser vids: before finding out which Pokemon you're going to have, roll a 6-sided die to determine how many pokemon you receive and *have to* use frequently in the run. It could be the difference between soloing with a strong pokemon and being dragged down by having to keep using multiple weak pokemon! Imagine rolling a 3, then receiving Kakune, Metapod and Magikarp. That sounds like the kind of tedious agony you seem to thrive on!
You can drop a save right before Hadvar asks who you are and go from there or install the alternative life mod. Not really game breaking but it does mess with the flow a little

The fire magic did almost no damage to the dragon because the dragons that breathe fire have 50% fire damage resistance.

Called it last week! Problems with the whirlwind sprint puzzle that could be solved by upgrading the shout 8^p
Still fun to watch!
I find the idea of stability mods being unstable very funny
I'm guess a stealth archer build is incoming.
MDB, i love your content. Keep it up!
Is this when MDB figures out bows are OP in Skyrim?
I know stealth archery is 'boring' by most people's standards, but it would be the ideal way to do this. There's a perk in the stealth tree, which you can cheese up sneak levels in the entrance cave or at High Hrothgar, that lets you do a sneak roll that's almost as fast as sprinting. Bosmer or Wood Elf wood be the ideal race with the Thief Stone. I enjoy stealth archery, so I think this would be a fun challenge to do to see how often I actually stand up.
Heeeey! I’m so glad the bear mod worked for you! Spiders ruined my playthrough back in 2013…
My very first playthrough was a sneak bow user and I destroyed everything. Once your sneak is so high they can't even see you to fight you.
Drawing your weapons and leaving them out is even faster than the spamming sheathing.
Just need to use an alternate start mod ... those could be fun for specific challenges too
Hmm... I wonder if getting the other words for whirlwind sprint would let you do the gate challenge while crouching 🤔
If he can do the dungeons to get them, I forgot which ones have it spasificly
@@doimanator9999The main issue would be the fact that tomb has a very high level dragon priest
Yeah the dude will grind for 12 hours straight in pokemon games to keep the rules going, but in this he can't even be bothered to level up that shout to get around the second mission puzzle. Low effort and failed challenge in my book.
not gonna lie, all I was thinking during this challenge was: "Skyrim AE's Bow of Shadows would solve 99% of his problems lmao"
great video tho, discovered your channel recently and I'm loving your TES challenges
When the burn effect wears off, just reapply it.
iirc doesn't the burn effect stack? I usually spam cast it and after 3 or 4 cast most stuff just melts.
@@simonnachreiner8380 I mean, I would hope that's the case, don't know for sure, but then again, it doesn't really need to because it's so efficient.
I got one suggestion, would love to see shivering isles challenges :)
Lifes hard, thank you for these.
I Recommend going to the Talos Shrine by the First Bandit Camp, their is a 'Dead' Thalmor Agent that has TWO enchanted items on him, the first is his robes, while the second is Random enchantment, getting it is Idea for anyone starting a new Character.
SpiderBear! SpiderBear! Goes wherever, SpiderBear wants!
Who knew throwing your hands up in the air like you just don't care could be so useful
12:09 Ustengrav. It’s promounced “ooo-sten-gr-ah-v”. I tend to drop the space in between gr and ah, but that was the best way I could think of to show pronunciation for that bit
Honestly this is kinda something I always do, also always do it as a dark elf too, tends to be better as Archer but magic does work abit
Have you considered playing Dragon's Dogma? I feel like you would like the game as a whole, and also would fit nicely for some challenge runs
watchiing parthy yell USE DRAGONREND then flying right in the path of the shout is fun
23:11 I never knew you could go inside a dragon in Skyrim ... well it is Bethesda so going through things inst too shocking
Dude literally went around hitting the griddy over all of skyrim
You can drop a save right before Hadvar asks who you are and go from there or install the alternative life mod. Not really game breaking but it does mess with the flow a little
mdb fighting the first dungeon and being surprised how easy it became while over leveled was my experience, because as soon as i got to whiterun i got distracted. got to riften and got the companion there, wandered up to the college of winterhold and became the grand master or whatever. then went and like, actually started doing the main story
and then got distracted again and accidentally became the leader of the dark brotherhood and got seduced into keeping cicero as my companion for the rest of forever
also that dragon glitch happened to me my first time, the dude landed. cicero took it personally and charged it, he was slashing at him for a bit (with merunes razor, would have been funny if he actually killed the dragon). but the took damage (i think?) because all the guards and everyone in the room just charged the dragon and also started wailing on him. i was like "oh cool, this must be a powerful dragon if they planned to capture it just to kill it. well i'll just hide back here in case it starts attacking and go to the bathroom and grab a snack"
Hey MDB, hope you have a happy thanksgiving
I always loved putting the game on legendary and sneak hitting the grey beards for easy level ups. Lol
Commenting this after the first minute of the video.
My thoughts: "…So stealth archer"
