Cost wise, if you compare the Spyder to the Harley touring bikes, oh yeah, the Spyder is certainly more than worth it, or compare it to a Goldwing, they are similarly priced. For those like me at my age, traveling while riding all day on a Spyder is way more comfortable than riding on 2 wheels, and I can ride for many more years on a Spyder than I could on 2 wheels, so I couldn't even put a price on that. And if you have a love of riding in the wind, and how riding brings you joy, it really doesn't matter what you ride because you can't put a price on the joy of riding. And one of the biggest advantages the Spyder offers, it is a motorcycle that can be someone's very first motorcycle, and you're living proof of that 😁👍👍
Mel, we luv ya but when you announced " Spyder or Miata" you gave all those two wheeler trolls all the "see I told ya" ammo they needed 😅😅 They don't care WHY you decided Spyder over the Mazda only that you said "Miata" which is the talking point hill they will die on when arguing it's uselessness and how it's NOT a motorcycle ( it is and the NHTSA and most DMVs agree with me 😊) Anywho you made a good choice in the Spyder so keep those knees in the breeeze. 😊❤
That's funny, those guys are so silly. They may make fun of Spyders now but I bet they'll end up getting one once they're tired of dropping their 900 pound bikes and can't pick them up anymore. Those guys don't bother me at all, I only smile and shrug at them.

It’s totally worth it. Now that Apply Car Play is working on the 2024 Spyders I was able to take off the quad lock and use the navigation from apple car play; why do you use both?
@@vagabondmel Yes you need a Bluetooth 5.3 headset for it to work. A cardo unit works best but it’s pricey. But you can use the cardo on any helmet. The store you buy it from will more than likely install it for free.
Yikes about the HOA assessment! But you’re right, the Spyder is worth it. I’m glad it got you onto the road with a safer, open-air vehicle.

I agree! I just want to keep riding far off into the sunset like a cowboy and return months later with stories of adventure :)

I can't get mine to work, only the music works. I need to invest in a speaker for my helmet, I think it'll work if I have a headset.
