I am not one of the "I followed your video once and my knees were fixed" crowd but one of the "after 4 weeks sticking at it I am now no longer in pain" crowd. I stopped running 5 years ago after my knees suddenly got very painful and have felt limited in my exercises ever since. Going downhill, down the stairs, jumping, pivoting had become difficult but it would appear that the workout has paid off... I have never felt so strong in my legs. Thank you so so much for sharing your content on a free platform!!

I watched these 5 months ago and started doing them as I sustained a medial colateral ligament tear and wanted to regain strength and mobility. I'm 66 years old and I'm glad to say that I'm almost recovered and can even run again. I do these simple exercises every day along with some others and can't thank you enough. So big thanks once again for sharing!

Thanks so much! I'm 23 years old and have "hook" or "J" knees, causing my knees to dislocate. This video was a lifesaver! I can't believe I've been doing squats with weights for so long and with ZERO no knee strength- yet this simple looking video activated muscles my knees I have never felt before! You've won a subscriber! Thanks Jessica!
P.S. It's strange how MENTAL working out is. I think what REALLY benefited me as well was describing the anatomy and what exercises activate which muscles so my brain actually connects to the muscle. This is awesome!

Nice Video! Sorry for chiming in, I am interested in your initial thoughts. Have you considered - Dinanlinson Rocky Position Approach (should be on google have a look)? It is a smashing exclusive product for learning how to fix chronic knee pain without the headache. Ive heard some super things about it and my best friend Jordan at very last got astronomical results with it.

These exercises are preventative for me. I feel most young men desperately need this to extend their lifetime mobility as we so often have such limited range and severe issues later in life. These exercises feel so right. Thank you for sharing your knowledge ❤️

I'm 36 years old and already suffering from osteoarthritis. I'm constantly in pain. The exercises you did were amazing. I didn't overwork myself, and was able to perform them fairly well even though I had to pause a few times because my muscles are so weak. I plan on working through this video everyday. I’m very grateful for videos like this where someone is just calmly instructing me. When I try to do exercises by myself I always lose track and get bored. I am in desperate need of doing physiotherapy exercises and just you being there to tell me “now do x!” Helps me actually do it. I hope I will recover from my fat pad impingement (I’ve been struggling with it for over two years without knowing what it was and just reinjuring my knees whenever I tried strength training by myself). I’ll come back in two months with an update for anyone else with this kind of injury❤

Am so grateful to you Jessica! I have knee and ankle pain brought on by fallen arches and you are so very right that a number of people with knee pain have some weakness in the pelvis and hips. I routinely have pain in my L5-sacroileac region. I started feeling slightly better after 10 repeats of the very first exercise involving leg extension. I'll keep you posted on my progress. Thanks so much. :-)

I came here from your meniscus tear video. I’m 68 years old and active. And mountain bike and hike… Or at least I did until a complex baker cyst had me in for an MRI, which showed meniscus tears and stage 2 to 4 osteoarthritis in my left knee. I worked with a PT for two months and rehabbed the left knee. Feels great! Two weeks later my right knee blew up. It’s been two months and no real progress so I’m going for an MRI. My left leg is 2 inches shorter from a traumatic injury… Motorcycle accident at age 19. I wear a 1 1/4 inch lift because that’s all I can tolerate. In another PT video, he highly discourages any contraction of the quads with anyone who has OA. He says most people are quad, dominant, and I would say I fall into that category. He focuses on strengthening the glutes only. Once you’ve come to a certain level, he then recommends quads. I’m guessing I have same similar issues in my right knee. I’d like to hear your opinion with regard to strengthening quads with advanced OA. I’d like to get back to biking and hiking. Not sure how that’s going to go. Thank you!

I feel this latest exercise really hits the spot for me .

Thank you so much for this video, Jessica! I did the exercises earlier today, and I haven't felt this comfortable with my knee for a long time! I know I will sleep well tonight because I'm lying in my bed and I don't feel the usual discomfort and tightness on my knee.
I was taught all of these by my pt about two years ago after my knee surgery. I should have not stop doing them. This video helped me to refresh my memory of exercise steps. Gonna keep doing this tomorrow!

Hello Jessica, a couple of months ago I missed a step coming down the stairs and i put too much weight on my left leg. I am feeling the pain in the muscles and tendons around my outer left knee. I did not pay much attention to it right away as I was travelling. The long plane rides were no fun :( Muscle relaxants, and Tylenol help but it is not getting better. I am in a foreign country for 6 months . I have good days and bad days of pain. Normally I am an active person who does regular Iyengar yoga and loves walking - however, this knee pain is restricting my lifestyle. I am glad I stumbled upon your video and will do your recommended exercises. Thank you for a very informative video.

Like you I also do yoga, Vinyasa yoga in particular. I’m new to Pilates, but I think there are a lot of Pilates movement in yoga already. I have a torn medial meniscus disc in my right knee. This is also the reason why I’m following your channel. I also like your advice that I should try to exercise my knee for at least six months before considering surgery. Well it’s already day to into exercising with you and I’m feeling better already. Thank you! And also, thank you for your advice about squats and lunges. Yes, I think it’s perhaps common for people like myself to get into the weight training instead of focusing on the smaller training. Have a awesome day

+Annastecia Salmon I'm so glad the video is helping! I'm not sure how long you've had the pain, but often times with knees I tell people to do the exercises for a year. It sounds like a lot, but knees can just take a while to work themselves out :). You might be surprised to look back one day and say "Wow, my knee doesn't hurt anymore!" At that point you can drop down to doing the exercises once a week to maintain. I hope that helps!

+Annastecia Salmon I've been having knee trouble for on and off for 3 years. To bee honest with you I do the exercises 3 times a week and I get relief. However I'm pushing for everyday. I live in a busy environment that may cause me to forget to do my exercises.

I just discovered this video 2 weeks ago while searching for good exercises for my right knee pain that has been bothering me for several months & the pain was hurting worse & cause me to limp when I walk. When she pointed to her inner knee (her other knee pain video) locating the pain area. I knew she hit my nail on the head, so I immediately started the knee exercises 1 & 2 sections. I was absolutely amazed when I felt results in just two days!!!! And I love how Jessica explains everything to you by words and physical demonstration. I am placing several of these videos for knee pain in my exercise playlist so I can easily find them to do daily. Thank you so much, Jessica!

Thank you sooo much! I was in PT so many times with knee injuries and yet still wasn't incorporating these moves into my routine. I recently over did it with some squats/lunges and could barely move my knees for days (chondromalcia). These exercises have helped so much - after only a week, I'm 90% better. Hoping to build up more strength to get back to those squats/lunges ;) Sara

Thank you, this felt good. I've suffered with knee pain for 3 years due to an accident. found out I have shattered cartilage. These exercises are similar to the best PT ones I was given, but I stopped doing them because I was in a lot of pain. Going to do these ones for the next few weeks (plus back to monthly acupuncture) and come back to comment on how things are going.

Aiming to do this 4x per week.

Coming from a tibial plateau fracture with depression (plate, 7 screws etc.). Fully recovered but I worked like a dog for that. Running, climbing, weight lifting but doing also a lot of your knee strengthening and mobility exercises. I can tell it helps a lot. The nice legs too😀
If I may suggest, pls do a workout for the TPF guys out there, especially for those in the non weight bearing stage. Nothing sucks more like a TPF, most of them never recover and get their mobility back

I'm off work and stuck here at home with knee pain from mountain biking. Thanks so much for providing this video. I'm really wanting to balance the strength of the leg muscles and work on core strength also. You do an excellent job of explaining all of it in these videos.

I had a knee replacement over 6 mos ago and my knee started hurting again and it feels like I'm back to square one. So I'm starting slowly again. Thanks for these tips. I'm also taking pilates at a studio (with reformer and cadillac) and going very slowly again

Hi Jessica! After 2 years of L. knee pain with explosive activity I am so sad to lose out on cardio activities. During quarantine, I am doing at home workouts and having to modify almost all of the cardio moves to prevent buckling and pain in my L knee. I am going to start your moves here (I am including a thin loop theraband - hope that is ok!) and on and off icing - as well as my normal pilates routine and lots of walking. Hoping to see some improvement. Thanks for all of your helpful content!

Thank you so much for these exercises! I overstretched my knees doing yoga and started having pain in both knees (one more than the other). I even had to go up and down stairs one at a time to keep the worse one straight. After just a few days I feel much better and can see a day when I take the stairs normally in the future. BTW, I'm back in yoga class and focusing on the 'strengthening' rather than the 'flexibility'.
