Great interview. Really appreciate what you guys have done for the sport. I road a 580 Mountain Cat in the 90s and fell in love with riding in AK. After many years away I picked up a 17' Axys 163" and it was mind blowing. It's been incredible accessing the terrain around here with such a capable stock sled.
$20k plus’s for mountain sleds that need major rebuild after 3,000 miles!!!! I’ve been a buyer every year for 20yrs I’m done. You can’t bullshit us old guys we’ve all felt the financial pain trying to get mileage outta these sleds, there’s a reason why all the real riders sell every year. The industry needs to address price vs longevity
die hard snowmobiler here. are these videos being played other than youtube? they are pulling no views here. there is something fundamentally wrong with stuff here. Cboys pulls more views by a county mile over any legit snowmobile media. crazy.
Because podcasts require an attention span to watch people sitting there rambling on and on. I actually hate them and watch maybe one or two a year. Obviously in motion, snowmobiling videos are where it’s at viewership wise.
@@Captndarty you actually watch them? i just turn it on and listen while at work. case and point, you have more of a youtube presence than snowest! i don't do cycles nor planes, so not your guy. i just look at the simple numbers.
@@Icutmetal well aware of audience knob. Dootalk slow. No fake badge here for you regulate comments here. Cboys sucks, but they still smoke ANY snowmobile media, period.
I sure do enjoy both of these guys and their videos. Sure would like to make some time to go to one of their classes, it would be fun and I figure I could learn even more from guys like this. I sure would like to talk to these guys in person about the different sleds, honestly everything aside I feel like Polaris is the least reliable of the bunch. Although I'm sure different years in different brands might change that a bit. I'm thinking Polaris must be so good of a performer and a killer handling sled that guys are willing to take the chance on faulty clutches and various things over other brands that might be a little more reliable.
I hate to see you guys endorsing Klim so openly. I was a true supporter of their gear for years. The quality has gone so downhill it's embarrassing. Getting more than a couple rides out of a $600 pair of bibs is a long shot before the leak. As you guys get their gear for free and get to change it out a few times a year I understand that somewhat. However, you should be standing up to these companies as advocates for the rest of us. The recalls and lack of quality control with Polaris is astounding. My 23 boost caught on fire for the exact reason they held sleds back last year. Then Polaris had the audacity to say this is my fault. Defending them is not the right stance right now. They need to be held accountable for their overpriced and undependable sleds. However, I do thank you two for your dedication and incredible contributions to the sport. I hold you two to a much higher standard with the positions you hold in the industry
This is stupid ignorant if your Klim gear leaks you can literally send it in and they fix it for free or replace it for free. I have road Klim and 509 and they are both fantastic but Klim is definitely more water proof and tougher in general.
@@rawpoptart2046 it’s a difference of opinion not ignorance. I shouldn’t have to send back my new gear every year after a few rides or even half a season. It’s poor quality and manufacturing. I have sent gear back, multiple times, only to see the same result.
I completely agree. They get high on the hog they get the money and they reduce the quality. Just like season 4+ on any show. I’d love to be a fly on the wall to see what these guys actually think about Polaris, and their quality or lack there of. But hey, I get it from their perspective as they’re so far in bed with a Polaris if they muster one foul word they’ll tossed out to the street no more free snowmobile’s.
@@HankMarducas i love watching you people bitch just to bitch. if its not quality its price if its quality you will bitch about the price. people like you will always bitch about something. buy something else then what a hard concept. then when you bitch about that, klim will be here to take your money!
@@rawpoptart2046You. Any spell for shit and don’t understand what ignorance means. As mentioned above, it’s a matter of opinion and personal experience. Klim warranty isn’t what it used to be, and I can confirm that. I had to pay for repairs on multiple occasions.
I used to like SnoWest, but then they made their forums pay-to-play (to get full access), and their forum software is HORRIBLE. We had a great community going on there but they ruined all that.
Chris is right about the recalls also every industrys quality from automotive parts to food has gone down hill since covid, its not their fault they do what they can. No one talks about all the new skidoos that have to get helid out of the mountain they have recalls too.
Honoring recalls is one thing, everyone does it but in today’s age with R&D and engineering designing a piece that needs a major recall in the first place is unacceptable. Across the board.
Chris making the Covid excuse is because he's a paid shiller for them. Ski doo and Poo are having the consumer be the guinea pig these days and dealers are sick of it. @@Captndarty
Always enjoy listening to these two. I really enjoy hearing the behind the scenes talks. And yes SLEDNECKS changed the industry!

Hats off to Dan & Chris but how about a shout out to Brett Rasmussen ….likely the first to really demonstrate skills in the trees
