Bringing in Pelagius, bringing in Night Sisters, bringing in Palpatine, and saying it all originates from THEIR story is a crutch seen in new writers (usually in fanfiction) because they want to be grandfathered into importance rather than actually writing something important.
What sucks is the main story--the Jedi massacre during what is ostensibly a wellness/welfare check on the two girls and the subsequent cover-up--was a strong enough hook for the series without having to rely on people turning to and from the darkside or the girls being created by the force or any of that. The outing of a pocket of corruption in the Jedi order during the High Republic could easily keep a series running for a number of seasons, but they either wanted to be or were forced to be a cog in the franchise.

Its insane how kotor 2 came out 20 years ago was half assly put together in such a short time frame but is the ultimate star wars story on morality that hasn't been topped in live action and that story knows more about the brand then anything disney has put out the entire time they've owned star wars. We've regressed to the dinosaur age in terms of writing and directing every lead character is some girl now we are less diverse than ever, no aliens we only get aliens in this show because its trying to be the prequels like what the hell has happened to this brand I miss the days of being excited for 1313, when star wars had real edge and writing talent behind it that could tell relevant stories of morality without completely breaking my immersion.

Well, it was written by Chris Avellone who was fire itself as a writer in his younger years. Dude wrote Kotor 2, and Planescape Torment in his late twenties/early thirties.

Quimir literally killed like 14 people in this show, one of them being teenager/child. Two of them are Oshas friends. Then three episodes later she's literally holding hands with the dude that killed her friends. This show is trash.

It makes no sense that Vernestra would accuse Sol of going rogue. The senator's entire concern with the Jedi is that a Jedi would turn bad and kill a bunch of people. So if she's trying to protect the Jedi, it would be in her best interest to blame it on an outsider, such as a sith Lord, or a ninja assassin. She's covering up what happened and hiding evidence of the sith solely to make it try to fit within Canon???? The only possible explanation would be that vernestra is a secret sith and she's hiding the truth to protect the sith not the Jedi.

It's crazy how some actors can really make 2 characters come to live in such unique ways. They can immediately make it obvious who is who simply by changing small mannerisms and facial expressions. This can make people quickly relate to the characters and makes it much easier to identify who is who. This actor didn't do any of this, just 2 twins running around like headless chickens doing stuff for no reason.
I've just realised one major plot point, about this show... They murdered PIP and no one seems to care!? He was reset, mind wiped, personality gone, and essentially killed, and not even Osha seemed to react. I'm certain Osha notices the droid at Mae's side, but makes no reference to his reset coloured eyes! None? The droid she "loved"! That's either shocking writing (most likely) or it shows Osha to be a very, awful person, even before she does-what-she-does.
I guess sith dude forgot that he had a helmet AND an arm gauntlet made out of crotosis, he could have used that on multiple ocasions to defeat Sol! I guess Headland only ripped that from the lore just for that one tiny scene just to be cool. And OSHA force chocking? Someone who barely just began to have darkside thoughts and tendencies, hasn't been trained AT ALL for years, just knows how to force choke A JEDI MASTER out of no where. And that Kyber Crystal color change? That is just some straight up dog shit. I don't remember Anakin's saber turning color lmao. And damn they did Sol dirty. He did nothing wrong, killing that EVIL head witch was 100% justified. Yet his reputation and character was totally destroyed. I hate that green bald Jedi for everything she did and how she hid everything. Showing Yoda was a mistake, just further making the Jedi look incompetent and straight up dumb. And are they implying that Plagueis got the idea to create life from Osha/Mae? That would be horrible! Just everything about this was destructive on all the lore. Because it's impossible for them to write a heros story. Literally impossible, they can't do it, it goes against their agenda n they just don't understand what people want from a hero. They even fucked up the Lord of the rings with the rings of power, literally one of the easiest stories to write is a hero story (you would think anyways), yet not a single person in Hollywood can do it because of their politics, social hypocrisies, and low IQ. And for people saying "oh a hero can be flawed too" that's not the point I'm trying to make, of course almost every hero has a flaw or two. However Hollywood writers cannot make a morally good hero character, it's impossible for them, they always have to make it some in-between that satisfies no one and the writers just take the easy way out.

You know what i realised. The Acolyte writes tried to do something similar to Jinx and Vi. Sister starts a fire in it her family dies. Sister joins bad guys. Whenever the sisters meet, they are separated due to circumstances. But unlike Arcane, Acolyte writes dont have the talent to pull it off.

Keep in mind Anakin's saber didn't bleed because Bleeding/Purifying a Kyber crystal is a Disney Retcon. At the time before it was bought by Disney a Red Lightsaber was created through Sith Alchemy and was a synthetic Kyber crystal, which is basically part of why the Sith kept returning to planets like Korriban, since the Rule of Two meant they no longer had the infrastructure to build new equipment for Sith Alchemy. Thus creating or recieving your red lightsaber was part of proving you were strong enough in the dark side to be a Sith.
"to be fair", we're talking about dark side users, so if we hate them, unfortunately the series did something right. But the whole show sends vibes that we should feel sympathy for them or so, and that let the writers appear to be totally awkward and creepy bastards.

Spaceballs is a better Star Wars spinoff. Edit: bleeding a saber is a ritual. The Jedi flow with the Force, the Sith subdue it to their will. Bleeding a saber is subduing the crystal to your will.
the tube thing pulling luke in at least made some sense, the tubes lead to hatches that periodically open to the upper atmosphere, so that creates suction. and the orbital station is hughe, that place he falls down is massive, so there's tons of distance for him to be falling and moving sideways. this tube is in a fortress that at the top of a mountain, there's no atmospheric difference between the shaft and the air outside, there's no suction. and the fortress isnt that big, the pit didnt look that deep for there to have been time/distance for her to be pulled sideways into a tube. and its a perfectly horizontal tube. if shes falling and she gets pulled into that tube shes going to smash into the edge of the opening. at least when luke gets pulled in the tube seems to be sloped so he misses the lip and then gets slowed down gradually by the slope. the tube in this is a hard abrupt 90 degree angle, smack, you ded.
THANK YOU AngryJoe for pointing out the idiotic “Reversed Lightsaber Lock” problem. I recognized how stupid that move was when I saw it happen and have commented on multiple reviews/reactions - even Shad from Knights Watch, who is a medieval weapons “expert” - and no one else acknowledged it. As soon as Qamir got his lightsaber behind Sol’s blade it should’ve been over: A forward swipe would’ve beheaded Sol. Even a light tap to Sol’s face or neck would’ve ended the fight instantly. To be fair, Sol could’ve done the same thing in that situation. The key difference is that Qamir was wearing a CORTOSIS helmet and Sol wasn’t! If Qamir wanted to make that trick completely safe, he could’ve grabbed Sol’s wrist with his left hand to control his blade (similar to what Anakin did to Dooku in RotS), then swung for the decapitation with his right hand. OR Qamir could’ve use his lightsaber knife to try to shank Sol like he did to Jecki in episode 5. It would’ve been even better if Qamir tried that trick, but because Sol witnessed how Jecki died, he was prepared for it and countered it. Another flaw: WTF happened to Qamir’s cortosis vambrace that he had in episode 5. I know he lost it in the latter half of the episode, but he returned and retrieved his broken helmet. I’m uncertain if it showed him retrieving the vambrace, but he definitely should have considering how rare cortosis is and incredible an advantage it provides duelling Jedi. But for… reasons, Qamir didn’t have the cortosis vambrace this time, presumably to make his duel versus Sol more evenly matched this time.
You can make the Jedi look fallible, without shitting all over their legacy. George Lucas did it. Dave Filoni did it, bu there, Jedi are made to be the bad guys, incompetent, and complicit. stop trying to justify the bleeding of the crystal. By doing what they did, they didn't even fallow their own canon. Bleeding is a disney thing, not legends. And they don't even follow their own canon.

The lightsaber change was awful. If that was how it worked why didn't Luke's saber show a bit of change when he was about to kill Vader in ep6 or while Anakin was fighting Obiwan in Ep3. The lightsaber was changing colors before she even killed Sol and finally turned red after his death. It was never a cool scene visually watching Osha hold the saber and magically be the best fighter the galaxy has ever seen pissed me off. It was silly. The Plagues scene was awful made him seem like a hermit hiding in the shadows. You'd think he'd react the same way Sidious did when he heard Maul tried to use Savage as an apprentice went in person and embarrassed them both in combat. Rule of 2 which is why SmiloRen said power of 2 makes it seem he doesn't even know Plagues exists or wants an apprentice to help defeat him

The tube on Bespin made sense, because it was a floating city, not some underground decommissioned mining base. Even when they rip off other Star Wars media, they can't make it make any sense.
Anakin's saber definitely should not have bled on accident. The point is that it's a deliberate choice, to choose the dark side, to turn the saber red. On that note, the saber turning red in the Acolyte is stupid, because it happened accidentally, should have been on purpose.
I never liked the idea of bleeding Kyber Crystals. Before this, the Sith got red lightsabers by creating their own crystals. And it was cool because they were studying the force, even its most darkest aspects, and thats how they discovered you can create Kybers and fill them with the force. They were like alchemists. Thats why Anakin's didnt turn red. Because it wasnt based on emotions. He was supposed to create his own. I always thought that thats how the Death Star was created! By making red kyber crystals. A lot of red kyber crystals. And the Emperor even did it twice, with two Death Stars. How did he get other crystals after the first Death Star exploded? He didnt. He was a Sith so he could create more and more.
I did it with ep 1, fell asleep, my friend woke me up after I started to snore. Downloaded ep 5 bcos I heard so much about the fights and ep 8 to see how it ended. Most of the time they weren't even striking from an angle or a distance that would've allowed them to hit each other. Ugh.

Anakins saber didn't turn because the whole bleeding saber nonsense wasn't something that came from Lucas. Its more disney bullshit. Jedi crystals were natural crystals that called to that particular jedi. The red ones were synthetic in the original Canon.

Bringing in Pelagius, bringing in Night Sisters, bringing in Palpatine, and saying it all originates from THEIR story is a crutch seen in new writers (usually in fanfiction) because they want to be grandfathered into importance rather than actually writing something important.
What sucks is the main story--the Jedi massacre during what is ostensibly a wellness/welfare check on the two girls and the subsequent cover-up--was a strong enough hook for the series without having to rely on people turning to and from the darkside or the girls being created by the force or any of that. The outing of a pocket of corruption in the Jedi order during the High Republic could easily keep a series running for a number of seasons, but they either wanted to be or were forced to be a cog in the franchise.
Felt the same in Rings of Power, just callback after callback to other peoples better works in the franchise

Its insane how kotor 2 came out 20 years ago was half assly put together in such a short time frame but is the ultimate star wars story on morality that hasn't been topped in live action and that story knows more about the brand then anything disney has put out the entire time they've owned star wars. We've regressed to the dinosaur age in terms of writing and directing every lead character is some girl now we are less diverse than ever, no aliens we only get aliens in this show because its trying to be the prequels like what the hell has happened to this brand I miss the days of being excited for 1313, when star wars had real edge and writing talent behind it that could tell relevant stories of morality without completely breaking my immersion.

Well, it was written by Chris Avellone who was fire itself as a writer in his younger years. Dude wrote Kotor 2, and Planescape Torment in his late twenties/early thirties.

It's crazy how some actors can really make 2 characters come to live in such unique ways. They can immediately make it obvious who is who simply by changing small mannerisms and facial expressions. This can make people quickly relate to the characters and makes it much easier to identify who is who.

I guess sith dude forgot that he had a helmet AND an arm gauntlet made out of crotosis, he could have used that on multiple ocasions to defeat Sol! I guess Headland only ripped that from the lore just for that one tiny scene just to be cool.

I thought that 100% that killing a jedi with no weapon was using the mind tricks and guilt to have the jedi fall to the dark side. So when she just forced chokes a jedi, I was totally disappointed. Like, wow, osha just kills a jedi by doing using the force (which I would consider a weapon).

Let's face it, force choking somebody is no test, especially if Osha and Anakin learned to do it with no actual training on how to do it--it's certainly no more of a test of one's desire to follow the dark side than killing with a weapon.

Because it's impossible for them to write a heros story. Literally impossible, they can't do it, it goes against their agenda n they just don't understand what people want from a hero. They even fucked up the Lord of the rings with the rings of power, literally one of the easiest stories to write is a hero story (you would think anyways), yet not a single person in Hollywood can do it because of their politics, social hypocrisies, and low IQ. And for people saying "oh a hero can be flawed too" that's not the point I'm trying to make, of course almost every hero has a flaw or two. However Hollywood writers cannot make a morally good hero character, it's impossible for them, they always have to make it some in-between that satisfies no one and the writers just take the easy way out.

Keep in mind Anakin's saber didn't bleed because Bleeding/Purifying a Kyber crystal is a Disney Retcon. At the time before it was bought by Disney a Red Lightsaber was created through Sith Alchemy and was a synthetic Kyber crystal, which is basically part of why the Sith kept returning to planets like Korriban, since the Rule of Two meant they no longer had the infrastructure to build new equipment for Sith Alchemy. Thus creating or recieving your red lightsaber was part of proving you were strong enough in the dark side to be a Sith.

the tube thing pulling luke in at least made some sense, the tubes lead to hatches that periodically open to the upper atmosphere, so that creates suction. and the orbital station is hughe, that place he falls down is massive, so there's tons of distance for him to be falling and moving sideways.
this tube is in a fortress that at the top of a mountain, there's no atmospheric difference between the shaft and the air outside, there's no suction. and the fortress isnt that big, the pit didnt look that deep for there to have been time/distance for her to be pulled sideways into a tube. and its a perfectly horizontal tube. if shes falling and she gets pulled into that tube shes going to smash into the edge of the opening. at least when luke gets pulled in the tube seems to be sloped so he misses the lip and then gets slowed down gradually by the slope. the tube in this is a hard abrupt 90 degree angle, smack, you ded.
Since mei is strong in the force i assumed she used that in a burst of fear... and now she was just saved by her environment
THANK YOU AngryJoe for pointing out the idiotic “Reversed Lightsaber Lock” problem. I recognized how stupid that move was when I saw it happen and have commented on multiple reviews/reactions - even Shad from Knights Watch, who is a medieval weapons “expert” - and no one else acknowledged it.
As soon as Qamir got his lightsaber behind Sol’s blade it should’ve been over: A forward swipe would’ve beheaded Sol. Even a light tap to Sol’s face or neck would’ve ended the fight instantly.
To be fair, Sol could’ve done the same thing in that situation. The key difference is that Qamir was wearing a CORTOSIS helmet and Sol wasn’t!
If Qamir wanted to make that trick completely safe, he could’ve grabbed Sol’s wrist with his left hand to control his blade (similar to what Anakin did to Dooku in RotS), then swung for the decapitation with his right hand.
OR Qamir could’ve use his lightsaber knife to try to shank Sol like he did to Jecki in episode 5.
It would’ve been even better if Qamir tried that trick, but because Sol witnessed how Jecki died, he was prepared for it and countered it.
Another flaw: WTF happened to Qamir’s cortosis vambrace that he had in episode 5. I know he lost it in the latter half of the episode, but he returned and retrieved his broken helmet. I’m uncertain if it showed him retrieving the vambrace, but he definitely should have considering how rare cortosis is and incredible an advantage it provides duelling Jedi. But for… reasons, Qamir didn’t have the cortosis vambrace this time, presumably to make his duel versus Sol more evenly matched this time.
Accidentally bleeding a lightsaber is as bad as accidentally using force lightning

The lightsaber change was awful. If that was how it worked why didn't Luke's saber show a bit of change when he was about to kill Vader in ep6 or while Anakin was fighting Obiwan in Ep3. The lightsaber was changing colors before she even killed Sol and finally turned red after his death. It was never a cool scene visually watching Osha hold the saber and magically be the best fighter the galaxy has ever seen pissed me off. It was silly. The Plagues scene was awful made him seem like a hermit hiding in the shadows. You'd think he'd react the same way Sidious did when he heard Maul tried to use Savage as an apprentice went in person and embarrassed them both in combat. Rule of 2 which is why SmiloRen said power of 2 makes it seem he doesn't even know Plagues exists or wants an apprentice to help defeat him

What got him in? His own desire to have a great Star Wars piece of media that he hasn't seen before. He is a master at suspending his disbelief. He goes into every show fully believing THIS will be the one that redeems Disney. And inevitably, the show disappoints and he goes on an angry rant.

Anakin's saber definitely should not have bled on accident. The point is that it's a deliberate choice, to choose the dark side, to turn the saber red.
On that note, the saber turning red in the Acolyte is stupid, because it happened accidentally, should have been on purpose.
I never liked the idea of bleeding Kyber Crystals.
Before this, the Sith got red lightsabers by creating their own crystals. And it was cool because they were studying the force, even its most darkest aspects, and thats how they discovered you can create Kybers and fill them with the force. They were like alchemists.
Thats why Anakin's didnt turn red. Because it wasnt based on emotions. He was supposed to create his own.
I always thought that thats how the Death Star was created! By making red kyber crystals. A lot of red kyber crystals.
And the Emperor even did it twice, with two Death Stars. How did he get other crystals after the first Death Star exploded? He didnt. He was a Sith so he could create more and more.

Most of the time they weren't even striking from an angle or a distance that would've allowed them to hit each other. Ugh.
This is like when you played star wars with your sister when you were a kid, and you always win the battles because you know how the force actually works, and she would always get mad, but not mad enough to actually watch any movies. And now that she's grown up, Leslie got her chance to finally make the rules any way she wants and tell me all the ways that I'm wrong.
Luke had a blue saber for years and it never changed color. His next one was green. Changing saber colors like this is stupid.

The blue one was his father's. The green one was his creation. There was a deleted scene from Return of the Jedi, where he shown wrapping up the construction of the saber and loading it into R2D2.

Anakins saber didn't turn because the whole bleeding saber nonsense wasn't something that came from Lucas. Its more disney bullshit. Jedi crystals were natural crystals that called to that particular jedi. The red ones were synthetic in the original Canon.
About the bleeding: it's all stupid. Lightsaber is a mechanical device, every single lore detail surrounding a sentient crystal is dumb. I'm sure the next move is to see prophecies from starsigns.
Yeah the old lore was that the red saber crystals were synthetic and created by the Sith after they first left the Order. It made a lot more sense.
What i want to see is a force user so powerful that he ignites a lightsaber blade by pure force ability in his fist without a hilt after losing his original weapon in a tragic battle

I was listening to Mike's Book Reviews today and he came up with a solution to the problem of Disney's version of Star Wars. Read the Legends books, in my opinion the true cannon Star Wars Stories. Not this crap that Disney is shilling out.
