@@B3B3TTER That would have been much more distracting, as if it's a comedy show, four seasons long... The way they did it, the actors sound natural and, as intended, upper class.
Sure, accents may have worked, kinda, in Vikings. But series like The Borgias and Medici, both about Italian history, were fine without accents too.

Honestly sad that this show came to an end,it was honestly an amazing show and I watched it 4 times already,et it gets me everytime that it has a slim chance of coming back with a fourth season

I can tell from the trailer this is just another one of those politically correct rewritings of history, fully of empowered feminists, rich and wealthy black people, and probably lots of homosexuality.... it's very dangerous rewriting history for ideological purposes, because people will start to believe the lies. The 17th century was completely unwoke... I can assure you.
Do you know what would be really shocking in 2023? If a historical drama refrained from rewriting history through the lenses of woke ideology.....
The King's brother was so iconic. A remarkable charakter in Franch, or human history, just like his brother.
Duke of Orleans is the main spectacle of this show.

The real hero of the story is Fabien Marchal.

@@donrog5035 Yes, my first introduction to the man wasn't through this show but through Mike Duncan's excellent Revolutions podcast. I don't remember much was said about him being a drag queen or constantly kissing men in public. My comment above is solely about the show.

George Blagden was immense in this show, I didn’t even notice it was Æthelstan at first that’s how good he is.. and Phillipe just as good or even better. Awesome show, had to watch it twice

Yes. He said France thats me. He ruled longest then any other monarh and died in bed and was the best Luis of all Luis on french court.

Never caught on bcs objectively, nothing much happened in the show, it's interesting to a certain degree.
It wasn't cancelled. The producers of the show were Canal Plus and BBC. They only ever intended to make 3 series. It was hugely expensive to make.
@@AlexS-oj8qf Quite a lot happened as there was a lot of plotting and conspiracy but it needed a bit of patience to get into it if you didn't know any history.

I love this series. The costumes, mannerisms and atmosphere are accurate. Yes, there are sexual scenes but it doesn't take over the story. It should have continued forward. The story line is suspenseful and leads me to know more.

Edited: I could not get past the first three episodes that was not what I signed up for. It was nothing like the show Reign or any of the other shows that were similar to the Reign.
