    Here a better plot for "Return to Zombie Island" :
    After Daphne's TV show has ended, Fred thought it would be an opportunity to propose to Daphne, but that was quickly interrupted when they received a call from Beau Neville (who is now commissioner & mystery writer) to have them and the rest of the gang meet him up at the docks.
    It turns out that Beau is once again on the case of people disappearing to Moonscar Island, and since Scooby & the gang were there with him the last time, he needs their help.
    And the villains are a cult of Werecat worshippers that resurrect Simone, Lina, and Jaques (who are the zombies now) and vow to kill Scooby & friends after the Cat Creatures told them their fake story.

      NOSTALGIA FAN 96 Pretty sure she is already. I thought the dynamic between Shaggy, Daphne, Scooby and Scrappy worked better without Fred and Velma.
      Personally, if this version of Velma continues... I honestly want her to become an actual ghost and go insane when she returns several months later to try to start an apocalypse. They could crossover with “The Real Ghostbusters”.
      The plot would be in the first 5 minutes of the movie would have the ghost captured and bind to chains and is about to be unmasked only for said ghost to roll it’s eyes and phase through the chains and toss Velma out the window to her death.
      Several months later, we see Shaggy, Daphne, Scooby ridding around in the Mystery Machine on a case. During the drive Daphne mentions that Fred is now a mechanic in their hometown of Coolsville. Once the gang arrive at their case, they began investigating the mansion and run into the Ghostbusters and Slimer. After running around and capturing the guy in the suit, it would be revealed that the guy’s family was being held hostage and was to be a decoy for someone to get into the Ghostbusters vault.
      Almost immediately, both groups head to NY only to see a massive portal to the Ghost dimension wide open along with a cackling warped and distorted version of Velma floating next to the hostage family. After a brief scuffle, the group rescue the hostages and head back to the firehouse, they untie secretary and to Scooby’s surprise, his nephew Scrappy who is explained to have dwarfism and realized he needed another way to fight back do to his small height.

    Okay... if you want to do a sequel to Zombie-Island, and try to make it Canon with any other Scooby-Doo property, I have one for ya:
    So remember "Witch's Ghost"? When Tim Curry's character was doing a monolog, it shows that in the paper he's reading, it's the gang solving a mystery about a monster. Does that monster look familiar? Because that's the same monster from the beginning of Zombie-Island. So if you want to make certain movies canon, just take the two BEST Scooby-Doo Movies and just use that.
    The Plot: Okay, so let's say that the gang are at the Hex Girls concert and after the show, they meet up with them. The Girls say that they are exhausted from all of their shows. Then as they go to pack up their instruments, they get a mysterious call saying that they won a trip to an island in New Orleans. (It doesn't matter how they do it, it's Scooby-Doo, just be creative) Once the gang hears about their prize, Scooby gets flashbacks of when the gang were on one of the islands where the zombies and cat-monsters attacked, and he tries to warn them about it, but then have Fred take extra precautions by saying that they'll tag along with the Hex Girls so they won't be in danger.
    And for the villains, one comment had this great idea and I totally agree with it. Have like a Cult of those cat monsters resurrect Simone, Lina, and Jaques as zombie-cat monsters and they want revenge on the gang!
    Might not be the best idea, but like... ALL of the pieces are there

    I'd have much preferred Mystery Inc be kept out and have an original movie about Lena and Simone. Looking at the video. If Velmas was trying to rationalize the events of zombie island by saying that the original movie was about Simone, Lina, and Jaques were originally trying to find pirate treasure. Then why did they even bring the Scooby gang to the island if A. they had the key to finding the treasure. B. They knew the secret to finding the treasure. C. they owned the property above where the treasure was hidden. So finding treasure on their property isn't illegal, they didn't need any help in finding it, and the only problem they had were the zombies. In which the zombies were only after them and existed to warn the gang about what the cat people were doing. Plus at the end of the movie all the zombies and cat people dissapeared. Meaning that they have a missing persons case, which would be the one thing Velma needed to prove that the events on zombie island were fake. Yet they didn't find the original people, they couldn't disprove that the zombies back then were hallucinations because they were caught on camera, and they have no valid reason as to why they were even brought to the island. Yet apparently they made Velma have a fragile mindset so having a discussion against it would break her.

Reading about the 'Return to Zombie Island' canon discrepancies with the original movie is making me feel like said childhood's corpse is currently having CPR performed on it, but it's not enough.

After thorough investigations of the crime scenes and interviews with the local Indian tribes, and a tour of the paper mill, Velma discovers that the lumber company has been using Methyl Mercury to preserve their timber, thus contaminating the whole forest. After Scooby discovers a pair of mutated bear cubs trapped in a poacher's fishing net, the gang are relentlessly chased by the mutant mama bear. Which does turn out to be a real monster, of course.

    Okay here's my thought's on how Velma is written in this movie! in this I feel like is that the Movie was farming like Velma's Spectism as a joke. Which I don't mind the problem is it feels the writers of RTZI didn't think this Joke though at all if you get what I mean. It also feels like when you watch the scene's with Velma's you ask what is the joke in the movie with Velma? Is the Joke that Velma is spectalie that she's Igronate or is that Velma is so spectalie she can't tell what's real and not real? In some cases you can make an argument how Velma is written is similar to have the Titans in Teen Titans Go are written or how Patrick was in the Post Movie Era of Spongebob(Season 4-9a) . In those shows,The way Patrick and titans are written most of their episodes in those series (Or in Patrick's case a downhill seasons of very good show) most are there actions,jokes and motives are about their personalities. What they like,There flaws and weakness,What they hate,there famous characteristic! To the point that the character is more a stereotype or an archetype of the character they are. Like in TTG all Robin's scene's and moment's are how much an arrogant immature guy who thinks the world owes him something! With Patrick it's more in these season's just the stupid to the point the show makes it's feel the writer's are telling "Because Patrick is stupid he's useless"! This well Velma in this movie! It feels like in this movie Velma isn't her own character in this movie just a stereotype/archetype of the smart girl character!

    Scooby Doo Mystery Incorporated to me found the right way to handle skepic Velma. When she found out that the super natural was real, first was in denial (when it was still somewhat reasonable) then she had a mental breckdown since everything she belived was shattered and she started belinving that science and facts where now useless and nothing made sense anymore, then after she calmed down she accepted the existence of the supernatural integrating it with the science she knew, ad esample using the multiverse theory to make sense of the evil entity's existence. Because that's what a real smart person would do when she has undeniable evidences of something that she tought was impossible actually existing. If the "supernatural" was real it would be just a form of science we didn't know before, and it could be studied and interpreted with the same method, you would just need to change some rules. Denying the evidences is not rational, is stupid.
    Also this movie being a sequel to 13th ghost make no sense. Why when Velma was dening the existence of the 13th ghost no one pointed out to her that she saw the zombies and the cat creatures and so on? And why Fred was implied to be not familiar with real monsters either when not only he was there on Zombie Island but unlike Velma he accepted the whole situation according to this movie?

    What make Velma skepticism even weirder is that Mystery Incorporated referenced the 13 ghost by putting in Flim-Flam in the museum. My theory is that Velma knows ghost are real but is in denial because after years of mystery solving with her friends and the ghost was always fake, their is now a chance that the ghoul they are facing could is real and that mystery they are sovling could be their last, at any time a demon could destroy the world. I think she tries to find a logical explainion to everything and pass off ghosts as fake just to cope with the fact that it could all end while they are being meddling kids.

    • @ToonGrin
      @ToonGrin  4 года назад

      Well, that's inferring that there is somehow canon amongst the multitude of series which there isn't logically. The idea that it's a lot for her to take in and deal with is much more a fascinating idea.

Then they disrespect fans more by making a half assed sequel to Zombie Island. A movie lots of people loved! I loved the original Zombie Island! It was dark, yet had some funny moments to lighten things up. It's a shame WB just went, "Meh." And tossed down this badly made sequel.

    I think the only aspect this movie stays true to as far as the spirit of Scooby-Doo is how the first 25 episode run series just made shit up in terms of evidence against the culprit (who sometimes we the audience weren't even privy to, a joke "What's New?" actually had in one episode, involving Velma funnily enough). At least I THINK, it's been a while since I've seen any of those episodes so I don't remember if you could actually solve the mystery along with the gang or not, my brain is saying "some evidence was out of nowhere and others were shown" so I'm not 100% sure.
    Also legit, it would have been hilarious (and cathartic) if the reason for Velma's (and Fred's, maybe Daph's) personality shifts in terms of being reset to "there's no such things as ghosts" was the result of magic altering their memories. Granted I haven't seen "Happy Halloween" but I can see there being a case of "sometime off screen, they were doused with a variation of Fear Toxin or something that causes the same memory altering effect" and maybe even tying to one of the original 13 Ghosts that weren't captured back in the original 13 Ghosts show.
    Like I said in the 13th Ghost movie review video, the gang live in a world that more often than not is depicted in the world of the DC comics due to the presence of Batman (and Scarecrow in the Happy Halloween movie), and supernatural stuff happens ALL THE TIME in that canon. By acknowledging Batman (in any capacity, be it him or his villains), you acknowledge the world of DC, which canonically has magic and monsters. When you have a DC related (even tangentially) property that is basically attempting to deny its own world logic, well there you go...you have a property that is basically attempting to deny its own world logic.

    To answer the question as to whether ot not its canon. No. Not its not. It shall never be considered canon

      Its highly unlikely it will be referenced outside of Easter eggs.

    Also why did they had to be immortal because they only used their power for one thing, I believe the power got into their heads were they think it’s natural behaviour and share it with the ferry driver just like the Hulk in Old Man Logan

      They explain it in the Zombie Island movie, When Simone Lena destroyed the pirates they were cursed by the Cat God for using their powers for revenge which limited their lifespan to which they would have died the next year during the harvest moon. This resulted in Simone and Lena having to sacrifice and drain the souls from the living during every harvest moon in order for them to keep living.

    I'm hoping that they don't mess with Scooby-Doo and the witch's Ghost another one of my favorite Scooby-Doo movies.

    This movie is NOT an official sequel to Zombie Island. Its a sequel that makes fun of and reckons the first film.

    Remember in the Scooby-Doo and supernatural crossover when they discovered that the monster wher real and they freaked out because of that. Maybe that's the reason why the gang deny monster exists in the new films like return to zombie island?

    • @ToonGrin
      @ToonGrin  2 года назад +1

      They denied it in Return to Zombie Island and 13th Ghost because WB heads believe it would confuse people if sometimes its supernatural and sometimes isn't. WB has little respect of folks intellect.

    The orginal one is so much better. Characters looked stylised as well. The whole "Canon" thing is confusing and makes no sense, since the OG, the gang was older. Here, they are younger...?

    • @ToonGrin
      @ToonGrin  4 года назад

      Younger, they remove the part where they all had jobs, the fact that the cats nearly killed mystery inc entirely. It's basically an equivalent to how history books "wash history" to "look cleaner".

    i find it odd and random that reluctant werewolf of all things is canon in this train wrack of a movie

  • @gavinelrod6307
    @gavinelrod6307 Год назад

    you know connecting zombie island and 13th ghost doesn't make since when you think about it. like daphne said that she wanted to find a real ghost but she saw real ghost in the 13th ghost of scooby doo?

    • @ToonGrin
      @ToonGrin  Год назад +1

      I don't even think we thought of that because we were still trying to register everything in this trilogy. The fact they are like "Oh reluctant werewolf also canon" is a big...what?
      So did Shaggy just casually mention "One summer me and my girlfriend Googie (none of you will remember her) were out with Scooby and Scrappy (you'll never remember him) and we competed in a race with Dracula (yes him) and I was a werewolf."
