I think because the creator ( 60s Scooby Doo ) idea design, they said Scooby Doo it used to be spooky mysterious a bit like gravity falls ( without backward message ) but too much for kids reacting scary scene so they change to some comedy and adding a dog character Scooby Doo
The ''Ape Man'' was indeed ridiculous, and the plot of the whole episode is also ridiculous: An ape that supposedly ''burned'' an old mansion (is he an ape, or a dragon? - except if the writers tried to make us believe that an ape can trully use a torche, or something), the ape eats a... sandwich, and he throws it down half-eaten, like he waits for the Mystery Inc to found it and realise that he canot be a true ape (simply because apes doesn't eat sandwiches, lol), and worst of all, the suspects are just three, and we see no motives for any them to be the culprit, till it revealed only in the end that the ''Ape Man'' it's the very actor who portrays him in the episode's movie that it was shot, and the director of the ''plot'' reveals only after the twist that the actor was frastrated for playing an ''Ape Man'', (well, who woldn't, huh?), and he wanted to sabotage the movie for revenge! Isn't such a plot twist nothing but just another ''Shaggy Dog'' joke, lol!
Maybe a better plot twist could be that it The Ape Man turned out to be a real ape that had escaped from the zoo. I know it’s not much better, but it’s something to consider, right?
6:54 I used to laugh at him saying “ aww dang nab it “ because my mom used to be a Karen and thought it was a bad word so 7 year old me thought it was the funniest thing ever that they “ cussed “ in a kids show
I remember watching the Elias Kingston episode when I was a kid, and how my Grandpa was walking through just when Elias said "you will suffer this fate"...And Uncle Stewart says "Thats when he made me an Old Man." Then my Grandpa says, "Hey Now, I don't like that!!" (and then he chuckled.) ... He was in his 60's at the time...🤪😄
Against the popular opinion, I'd actually disagree on the Snow Ghost. True he got himself caught by his own words and was silly throughout the episode. But he was also the one who actively tried to KILL the gang. Velma by sawing her in half, Scooby by throwing him off a cliff, and Shaggy, Velma and Scooby by TNT. True we know that they weren't going to die. But what is more unnerving? A monster you know won't hurt you or one that will go for the kill. Which is why I think that despite how goofy they look, the snow ghost, ghost of captain cutler or ghost clown are, realistically some of the more unnerving villains in the original run.
2:25-3:00 The Ghost of Elias Kingston came out before the Creeper. If you ask me, Elias Kingston was the 'original' and the Creeper is a 'clone' along with Mr. Hyde & the Werewolf
2:37 Elias Kingston and the other creeper "clones" actually came before the creeper. The only ones that were copies of the creeper were the ghost werewolf and mr...I forgot his name.
Top 10 wrost monster featuring every creeper knock off ever. I would love to see you thoughts on wrost/best Mystery Inc monsters or what's new monsters. Also I thought the Elias one looked familiar
@@ToonGrin From Fruit Meyers monster,to a female creeper to a Freak and even an evil sing zombie band and a beast with no name that had a name ........ I think
The only scary thing about the ghost Elias Kingston was his blue skin; to me, Elias Kingston felt like an extremely huge Paper Tiger to me. Kingston made many threats solely to be defeated easily later on
The Miner 49er is not very scary, he is basically grandpa dressed up as a prospector for Halloween, but I liked the Miner 49er ether way though he is not scary and a rather more of a grandpa.
Opinions: *Snow Ghost* Yeah, the Snow Beast from "The Scooby Doo Show" was much better, especially in design (it's a feathered T-Rex before the dinosaur was confirmed to have feathers). *Elais Kingston* At least the episode centered around him was a good one. *Ghost of Mr. Hyde* Meh. *Miner Forty-Niner* Maybe if he was decaying looking, have a gross beard with worms in it, and bad rotting teeth, then he would be scary. *Caveman* That episode is very forgetful, even my mom (who is a huge Scooby-Doo fanatic) doesn't remember it. *Wax Phantom* How does he even move? *Ape Man* They also used the "Ape Man" again in an episode of "The Scooby-Doo Show," and that episode had a better villain in that too (No-Face Zombie). *Native American Witch Doctor* This guy makes Cruella DeVil groan with shame. *Phony Phantom* Lame! *Werewolf Ghost* Looks like a rip-off of the Zombie.
The Snow Beast looks so cool. When I originally made the Best Scooby Monsters list before I noticed Season 3 was under a different show label, The Snow beast was gonna be one of the best
@@ToonGrin you could have mentioned for when You reviewed the miner 49er that he didn't really change his costume only made himself look taller and added a beard and a hat to him they even said it's only one person also Elias Kingston came before the Creeper meaning they're Elias Kingston clones not The Creeper clones just letting you know your mistake
Am I the only one who was fucking terrified of the Elias Kingston blue guy ghost? That guy was literally haunting as a kid. I used to have to turn the TV off if that episode came on.
THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH!!!! For putting that poor excuse of a Ghost that turned out to be that grouchy old man who wanted the Stillwall treasure. So obvious
I feel like the Miner Fortyniner would've work better if instead of trying to push him as a ghost, he was presented as a worker who went insane, murdered everyone and turned the mine into his hideout while actively going after anyone who gets anywhere near it.
If this list was available for all of Scooby-Doo’s rogues, I’d say “Spindley Johnny”(The Phantom Virus). They kept having the twist being spoiled by him saying baseball puns like “Time to introduce you to the home team”. & “How’s this for a heavy hitter”. I won’t say if anyone out there wants to see Cyber-Chase, but He was such a terrible one.
For the list, we worked on the assumption that each season's monsters were developed within close time of one another as most TV show development have episodes written and produced in bulk. It just depends on how the original showrunner arranged the episodes and The Creeper still seems like the model design fit for all the clone looks.
"What the Hex is Going On?" is one of my favorite Scooby Doo episodes, but Elias Kingston himself honestly just looks like Johnny Cash with blue skin lmao
As most of the other people in the comments say, I agree Elias Kingston was first before The Creeper, just The Creeper did it better. However, give Elias Kingston credit, he managed to use CCTV technology to his advantage and did kidnap someone
I always thought the ghost of Elias Kingston was a boring ghost, at least other phantoms had something special, but him he’s just a blue guy who points at you and you age, he could’ve been better if if he had a ghostly glow and some special effect props like smoke bombs
How can Elias Kingston be a Creeper clone if he predates the Creeper by an entire season? Same with Hyde-he was first or second episode of Season 2, whereas the Creeper was roughly mid-season 2.
I think the ghost of Mr Hyde was probably my favorite villain from the oringal series probably cause of his design and just the way he looks is probably why he is my favorite also the hat and his outfit were also very appealing aspects of his design
10. Snow ghost A yeti ghost really, why not make it the yeti 9.Elias Kingston At least voice is terrifying 8. Ghost of Mr Hyde Why break in the mystery machine in the first place 7. Miner 49er How scary is an 90 year old man any 6. Cave man Aren’t cavemen stronger than modern humans? 5. Wax phantom I thought he looked like Clayface 4. Ape man I agree because won’t he need clothes to prove he’s a human and his motivation is weak 3. Indian which doctor Do natives wear those masks like Vikings don’t have horns on their helmets 2. Phoney phantom Just to prove that the headless Spector 1. Werewolf ghost He doesn’t look like a werewolf
You know, if you think about it, it’s possible, when he thought that he encountered The Snow Ghost, the yeti had actually survived the fall, or is was a different yeti altogether.
Actually, I like both the Ghost of Elias Kingston and the Ghost of Mr. Hyde. Elias Kingston to me works on two counts. One, his threat of rapid aging is legitimately scary to me. Two, him being inept adds appeal because it’s hilarious. Him being a “Creeper Clone” means nothing to me as he is memorable enough to not be a knockoff. As for Mr. Hyde… there’s again two things I consider. Regarding his foolishness in luring Mystery Inc. to his home I always interpreted that as him getting cocky because he had pulled off the theft multiple times prior to the episode’s events, causing him to eventually make mistakes. It also relates to my second point, which is that the way that version of Hyde acts is pretty faithful to the source material he is adapted from, “The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde,” as Hyde is known for lacking inhibitions and committing foul/criminal acts, so to me he was also well adapted, giving him points. Also, because he is an adaptation, I wouldn’t count him as a Creeper ripoff. The Snow Ghost I find okay because he is based off the yeti, and the Miner 49er at least is iconic, so he’s okay. The rest I fully agree with, especially the “Ape Man.”
The only problem with the snow ghost is if Mr Greenway just didn’t try to scare the kids away then his scheme wouldn’t have been thwarted… though out of the costume I dunno if I’d wanna stay in that guys inn he gives off creepy vibes
I don't know why but ... I think that the Phony Phantom have something that saves him a little is that he remembers me Jason Voorhees from Friday the 13th Part 2 and the killer from The Town That Dreader Sundown

I think because the creator ( 60s Scooby Doo ) idea design, they said Scooby Doo it used to be spooky mysterious a bit like gravity falls ( without backward message ) but too much for kids reacting scary scene so they change to some comedy and adding a dog character Scooby Doo
The one with Elias Kingston in the episode scared the shit out of me when I was younger I had nightmares for years after
The ''Ape Man'' was indeed ridiculous, and the plot of the whole episode is also ridiculous: An ape that supposedly ''burned'' an old mansion (is he an ape, or a dragon?
I like him
My Favorite Was Puppet Master Because I Like His Wardrobe I Wanna Be In His Wardrobe Because His Wardrobe Would Be Perfect For Formal Wear
6:54 I used to laugh at him saying “ aww dang nab it “ because my mom used to be a Karen and thought it was a bad word so 7 year old me thought it was the funniest thing ever that they “ cussed “ in a kids show
The Ghost Of Elias Kingston was by far, One of the scariest for me. And also Elias, Mr Hyde and Mr Grisby all came before the creeper.
Grisby came after the creeper
I remember watching the Elias Kingston episode when I was a kid, and how my Grandpa was walking through just when Elias said "you will suffer this fate"...And Uncle Stewart says "Thats when he made me an Old Man." Then my Grandpa says, "Hey Now, I don't like that!!" (and then he chuckled.) ... He was in his 60's at the time...🤪😄
Haha! That's a fun story :)
@@ToonGrin Whats really funny... I just turned 60! Ha! Now the Jokes on me!
The Creeper is more iconic then Elias Kingston but I like them both
Elias Kingston has my favorite scooby doo moment which is him getting ready to punch shaggy only to probably break his hand punching an anvil
The ghost of Elias Kingston was before The Creeper and was part of the original intro
I think If Elias had a scarier voice he would be 10 times better. His design is pretty scary on it's own
How is he scary?
He’s just a blue johnny cash.
The caveman’s setting was so good and his chase scene was the best one in all of the where are you series
Elias looks like a blue skinned member of the Beatles
Exactly! For the first monster in the franchise to straight up ATTEMPT MURDER, The Snow Ghost seems pretty underrated!
Maybe I’m the only one who was scared by the Wax Phantom. But I have a problem with wax figures in general, so maybe that’s why.
Ellias Kingston scared the shit out of me
The caveman, he’s the sheriff.
2:25-3:00
The Ghost of Elias Kingston came out before the Creeper.
Nobody disses what the hex is going on I love that episode so much that it is in my top 5 favorite episodes of all time
I think miner 49 would be terrifying in real life
A psychotic old man with a pickaxe and moaning.TERRIFYING!!!!😱
Technically any number of them would be scary if they were legit monsters.
Top 10 wrost monster featuring every creeper knock off ever.
I would love to see you thoughts on wrost/best Mystery Inc monsters or what's new monsters.
Also I thought the Elias one looked familiar
Haha don't think there are 10 different knock offs.
OOOH Mystery inc had some good ones.
@@ToonGrin From Fruit Meyers monster,to a female creeper to a Freak and even an evil sing zombie band and a beast with no name that had a name ........ I think
@@lyokochaeyeon due how cna they be creeper ripoffs when creeper came out as one of the last ones xD
The only scary thing about the ghost Elias Kingston was his blue skin; to me, Elias Kingston felt like an extremely huge Paper Tiger to me. Kingston made many threats solely to be defeated easily later on
I now like the term Paper Tiger.
Ima have to be honest. This entire list was full of my favorite villains
The Elias Kingston episode traumatized me as a kid…I had nightmares of that Erie moaning
Old man uncle Stuart traumatized me
I think the Snow Ghost is so hairy and fury and got paws
The Miner 49er is not very scary, he is basically grandpa dressed up as a prospector for Halloween, but I liked the Miner 49er ether way though he is not scary and a rather more of a grandpa.
I don't know, I alway thought Miner 49er was scary. Like his feats were superhuman and the combined with his inhuman lack of eye scared me.
Hello there
Elias scared the crap out of me I couldn’t sleep for two days so your opinion incorrect
that was an awesome list.
wouldnt mind a list of the worst monsters vfrom the other shows
Sounds like a plan!
Opinions:
*Snow Ghost* Yeah, the Snow Beast from "The Scooby Doo Show" was much better, especially in design (it's a feathered T-Rex before the dinosaur was confirmed to have feathers).
1:16. LOL. That was perfectly accurate and hilarious. Very well though ^v^
It's a miracle that the event didn't instantly kill them.
Both the ghost of Mr. Hyde and Elias Kingston came before the Creeper
Not every monster has to be referred as a “Creeper clone” because some of these monsters came before the actual Creeper himself.
The Caveman not having a laugh is actually justified considering cavemen had a lot to learn back in the prehistoric era.
THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH!!!! For putting that poor excuse of a Ghost that turned out to be that grouchy old man who wanted the Stillwall treasure. So obvious
The ghost of Hyde absolutely TERRIFIED me when I was a kid and I refused to watch that episode until I was in like 4th grade lol
Just remember recipe for my love
Why were you afraid of that episode?
@@kendallthiede373 im not really sure but I think it’s because I also had a deathly fear of the grinch and they have similar color schemes
I feel like the Miner Fortyniner would've work better if instead of trying to push him as a ghost, he was presented as a worker who went insane, murdered everyone and turned the mine into his hideout while actively going after anyone who gets anywhere near it.
You Know, Snow Ghost is One of The Few Villains from the Original to Actually Tries to Murder The Gang.
Doesn't make it any less ridiculous.
@@ToonGrin Really? He Tried to Cut Velma in Half with a Sawblade.
@@jaggerguth4391 Not to mention throw Scooby off a cliff.
If this list was available for all of Scooby-Doo’s rogues, I’d say “Spindley Johnny”(The Phantom Virus).
They kept having the twist being spoiled by him saying baseball puns like “Time to introduce you to the home team”. & “How’s this for a heavy hitter”.
I won’t say if anyone out there wants to see Cyber-Chase, but He was such a terrible one.
oh Look, a Caddicus Joke.
Trust me, buddy, if you’re criticising Cyber Chase in any way, shape, or form, you might as well be asking to get shot.
Well, the Creeper actually appeared after the monsters you called a knock off, so, maybe revisit your list?
For the list, we worked on the assumption that each season's monsters were developed within close time of one another as most TV show development have episodes written and produced in bulk. It just depends on how the original showrunner arranged the episodes and The Creeper still seems like the model design fit for all the clone looks.
I HATE it when a monster is defeated by them getting in danger and revealing their human identity. I just find it lazy.
i lowkey really like the phony phantom. shit's hilarious but to me the idea of an axe weilding hillbilly dressed in a bedsheet is mortifying
When I saw "What the Hex is going on?" on VHS when I was little, I remember not liking the episode.
Elias Kingston appeared before the Creeper did.
Elias Kingston aka the creeper in his emo phase.
The Creeper actually came after Kingston and Hyde but the Creeper became the iconic one.
Huh interesting.
@@kaiportercrafton2152 yup
actually the Indian witch doctor is one of my favorite Scooby Doo monster but I respect your opinion.
I loved how different he was and the change of pace.
He looks so cool!
"What the Hex is Going On?" is one of my favorite Scooby Doo episodes, but Elias Kingston himself honestly just looks like Johnny Cash with blue skin lmao
I actually like the witch doctor, he scared me as a kid.
As most of the other people in the comments say, I agree Elias Kingston was first before The Creeper, just The Creeper did it better. However, give Elias Kingston credit, he managed to use CCTV technology to his advantage and did kidnap someone
But Then Again, He Punch a Anvil, Pointing a Dog (Who Had NOTHING To Do With Him) to Get Scooby, and Being Defeated by his Own Illusion.
The Ape Man got abs a six pack of abs
Swoll Ape Abs.
Too bad those abs did jack for him when Scooby Doo kicked his butt. 😂
The ghost werewolf is one of my favorites
I always thought the ghost of Elias Kingston was a boring ghost, at least other phantoms had something special, but him he’s just a blue guy who points at you and you age, he could’ve been better if if he had a ghostly glow and some special effect props like smoke bombs
Was Elias Kingston an "homage" to Barnabas Collins of Dark Shadows?
How can Elias Kingston be a Creeper clone if he predates the Creeper by an entire season? Same with Hyde-he was first or second episode of Season 2, whereas the Creeper was roughly mid-season 2.
I think the ghost of Mr Hyde was probably my favorite villain from the oringal series probably cause of his design and just the way he looks is probably why he is my favorite also the hat and his outfit were also very appealing aspects of his design
The Ghost Of Mr Hyde Was My Dad's Influence My Dad Wants The Ghost Of Mr Hyde Outfit
So that is what the Qanon shaman was doing before he tried to help overthrow the government.
Should of stuck to trying to scare off meddling kids.
10. Snow ghost
A yeti ghost really, why not make it the yeti
9.Elias Kingston
At least voice is terrifying
8. Ghost of Mr Hyde
Why break in the mystery machine in the first place
7. Miner 49er
How scary is an 90 year old man any
6. Cave man
Aren’t cavemen stronger than modern humans?
5. Wax phantom
I thought he looked like Clayface
4. Ape man
I agree because won’t he need clothes to prove he’s a human and his motivation is weak
3. Indian which doctor
Do natives wear those masks like Vikings don’t have horns on their helmets
2. Phoney phantom
Just to prove that the headless Spector
1. Werewolf ghost
He doesn’t look like a werewolf
Actually, when the old man in "That's Snow Ghost", is telling his story, he DOES refer to the creature as a Yeti.
MegaMagicdog so they should have gone with a yeti instead
Have you thought of doing Top 10 best and worst Scooby Doo mysteries? As in their best and worse cases they solved?
I'll be honest. Miner 49er unsettles me to this day. I do like how they catch him with the train gag, classic.
I remember the Miner 49er and liking him, but I haven't watched old Scooby doo in forever
I don't know why but ... I think that the Phony Phantom have something that saves him a little is that he remembers me Jason Voorhees from Friday the 13th Part 2 and the killer from The Town That Dreader Sundown
AWESOME VIDEO!

What a big slap to ToonGrin when he finds out that funko made a pop of the werewolf, as a funko shop exclusive no less. www.funko.com/craftmin/products/1436_3266_8d6d5981588a653_38790_HannaBarbera_Werewolf_Series2_POP_GLAM.png
There is a perfectly good Charlie the Funland Robot that could be used.
@@ToonGrin true. I’m not sure why Funko chose to make a pop for the werewolf as an exclusive too but, that means he does have a fanbase out there. Charlie would indeed be a nice pop rather than the exclusive werewolf pop we got last year
Imo miner 49r, was the funniest villains when Scooby mimicked his grunt, and then shaggy the train sound effects
You know, Shaggy could probably take up a career in voice acting.
I must of been a lame kid. The snow ghost scared the crap out of me as a kid
The phony phantom could have been a cool axe welding maniac with a sack mask but that's my opinion.
I have to say that too Creeper is from Season 2 but Ghost of Elias Kingston was first and he is pretty cool even part of the intro and i like how ...evil he is
I was absolutely petrified of the tar monster when I was a kid. I remember having straight up nightmares with him chasing me. Anyone else? No? Just me..?
It's pretty horrifying. One cyclopean eye that glows an eerie green. Dripping muck and tar. But we also gotta take into account the mystery element, is it all that clever vs just something run-of-the-mill, ya know?

Elias Kingston and Hyde are amazing, just my opinion
Honestly enjoyed the Snow Ghost, Indian Witch Doctor and Elias Kingston.

Scooby Doo added new flavor to him, hahaha
My boi Hyde I loved him as a kid and his laugh..it helped you had those amazing songs such as recipe for my love…and I’m sure he came before creeper it’s just that creeper is more well known
