    My brother and I find it easier to keep the tire on the tractor and just pry the tire while on the tractor. And to patch the tire that away.

    Age 21, 160 lbs, small size. Been doing these for two years. Always just dismount one bead on machine and repair that way (less time). Wait till you gotta do repairs with a tube full of calcium in them.

    Something that might make your job a bit easier if you plan on doing more of these little bastards. Get yourself a spare lugstud and cut the head off of it and then bring the end to a dull point. Screw it part way into one of the stud holes before trying to line up the rim and it makes these much easier to get lined up without a bunch of hastle. I do these all the time and about anything with a lugstud like that I have done it for and I simply paint them the color of the equipment they go to which makes it easier to know which one to use without much trial and error. Also to keep the stud from going in too far when you screw it in simply fold over the threads at the point where you want it to stop. Don't waste your money buying the centering studs though as all they are is basically what i've told you to do but a little bit longer bolt and a ton more profit for the sellers.
    Trust me I've been doing this for 30 years, ya learn a few tricks and short cuts as the time goes buy.

      You can use a 1/2ton, 3/4ton ,1ton , for the big tires I use an f-550with a work body that has a Tommy lift gate ,with an Ingersoll 13hp 2stage compressor.

    Why did you even remove the wheel? Work smarter, not harder. I've never had to take a tractor wheel off to replace or repair.

    • @Benharcombe
      @Benharcombe 5 лет назад

      N6JRZ how are you pulling the rear bead off if the wheel is tight to the inner or the rear mudguard or tractor chassis itself ?

    • @arbez7k
      @arbez7k 5 лет назад

      ben harcombe Slide hammer and come along. Come along applies pressure to the back bead while one hit of the slide hammer breaks it. Just like peeling the back bead on truck tire outside dual!! I've done just about every kind of wheel tire combo like that in my 30+ years of experience

    • @Benharcombe
      @Benharcombe 5 лет назад

      N6JRZ what’s a come along ?? A bead breaker in the uk ?? So even when no room atall behind the wheel still doesn’t have to be removed ?? I start this job in a week myself and just trying figure afew bits and bobs prior to my introduction I did have plenty of years doing car and commercial tyres an 8” wheel barrow was about as agricultural as I got tho 😂😂😂

    • @arbez7k
      @arbez7k 5 лет назад +1

      ben harcombe A come along is a winch kinda thing with cable and hooks on each end. One hook on the front bead, the other hooked to a point on the service truck and crank it. Just enough to apply pressure to the back bead so that the slide hammer can do it's thing. Simple easy to do. Mounting the tire back on is even easier. Let the weight of the tire do the work for ya. I've got over 30 years in the industry so I know countless tricks of the trade if you will

    • @arbez7k
      @arbez7k 5 лет назад +1

      ben harcombe The only time I ever had to use a potra power, i e. bead breaker, was on logging loaders and skidders.
