I played through Wrath as a hunter once. I'm very willing to do it again. Just wait till you all see your crit chance once you start getting ICC gear. (Mine hit like 67% in ICC 25 man gear)

Solid guide, worth noting that Wolve's Furious Howl is NOT unchanged. In TBC it provided a small bonus physical damage on the hunters next attack which was, well, awful. In Wrath it gives a flat Attack Power boost and will likely be your go to pet for this ability. *EDIT* Go to pet from a PvE dungeon/raid perspective.

My 19 Twink hunter used to merc level 30's and even occasionally level 40's. I look forward to pvping on hunter again.
Yes you should play hunter in WTOLK, it's top tear DPS, also OP in PvP too

So wolf furious howl no longer helps the whole raid, just a personal buff for you and pet only now? Isn't that a nerf?

Wind serpent Lightning Breath has been changed. Use to be 50 focus and spammable, no cool down. Now it is 20 focus but a 10 second cd.
Yeah, Bite is now their WotLK spam focus-dump ability (all pets seem to have some sort of basic one in WotLK), with WotLK Lightning breath being sort of what Bite today is in TBC in terms of a cooldown-based supplemental damage ability. On the bright side, all pets are viable in WotLK now since they all have a basic focus dump DPS ability (+ a limited special pet-family flavor ability for the hell of it) - unlike in TBC. Nether Rays, for example, suck in TBC for grouping due to no focus dump, but now have a new Bite focus dump + a spell interrupt on a cooldown for WotLK.
Answer is if you enjoy hunter and want to play it you should!

Same here man. Im lvling it in TBC right now. Using same race, looks and name as the one i originally lvled Up through TBC and mained in wrath. Its still my Main in retail too 😅. So its kinda fun reliving the same characters story all over again.
not having to worry about clipping damage anymore is great you can just pew pew pew pew the pets still die faster then id like in pvp but bm is still fun in bgs
mm hunter and survival hunter are still very gear dependent while your pets damage as bm scales off your attack power.
wolf is raw ATk power not damage, making it BIs
since they changed some things with classic, wish they got rid of buying ammo and feeding pets. only thing I liked about cata lol

Should You Play a Hunter in Classic Wrath? this question right here is why classic has no soul and why people just buy gold and gdkp. Mentality has shifted why dont yall just play retail at this point? the Mentality is already there.

If you want to get worn out play a hunter. Constantly buying ammo and pet food, constantly worrying about pet health, and constantly fulfilling multiple responsibilities in raid and in arena. This class will feel like a 2nd job.
More fun than a 1234 button class
