Notice how he sits pretty far back in his seat? Its because he needs all the space he can get to fit his massive balls to drive a car like this around those bends at those speeds 😂 what a champ 🙌🏻
Not too many people would run a valuable car as hard as you did and i commend you for driving like these cars should be driven. Brings back a lot of memories. Most of my musclecars were of the 4 spd. variety. Ain't nothing like one hand on the wheel, one on the shifter and the car sideways. Thanks for this AWESOME video.
I drove my 69; Road Runner and other cars like this like this all the time...but that was in the 70s and 80s. Now I drive my 17' Super Sport Camaro 6 speed like this.😁
Probably one of the best ride-along vids on youtube. Really got a feel for the speed. Lol almost felt like you were gonna eat it around one of those curves! My dad's GTO is a '67. Just the best. Thanks!
Holy crap, this makes my heart race!!!! WOOOOOO WHOOOO!!!!!! Kids today have no idea what they missed!!! I will never forget those days, and I will always love them!!!! Thanks for the ride, it was awesome!!
Old man, you're my hero! Driving it the way they were meant to be driven. Not rotting in some garage just taking up space. DeLorean and Wangers would be proud!
This guy is the real deal :real man" not like these idiots showing cars of the past and don't show you what they are about Love this guy and this video is by far the best on utube with the GTO!
Made me smile! About 20 years ago I had a 1965 Chevelle with a dyno proven 681 hp 496 BBC. It had a full cage, ran 10's on pump gas, was licensed and insured. I would drive it into work at least once or twice a week, and I regularly just drove it everywhere. One day I was at a big parts house and the clerk needed to see my car to make sure I was getting the right part. When he saw the car, he just said: " oh my God - you are that guy!" I wasn't sure what he meant by that, so I asked: what do you mean? He said that he had heard rumors about some old guy seen dressed in a suit and tie, driving with slicks, a cage, a 5" cowl hood, in a thumping big block Chevelle, looking like he was just driving a Cadillac on his way to work - and then blasting off as soon as there was an opening in traffic! This is a nice GTO, driven enjoyably I would say.
I appreciate this to the max. My late brother and I loved the ground on which our GTO's rolled and at times, went to war. Go, Go GTO!!! Thanks again :-)
THAT is exactly how I drove MY '64 GTO! You, Sir, know what it is. I'm almost 58, now. I sold my car to a kid who wrecked it two weeks later. A deed I regret to this day! Your video shows the FUN of owning the ORIGINAL Musclecar. Can't be duplicated. ONE of a kind. THE FIRST. If I get another one before I die, my life would be complete! Nice work you did here. Thanks!
Wow, your video brought back great memories! I used to street race my 64 Tri-Power GTO and won 39 of 41 races. That was back in my high school days of the late 60s. What a FUN car she was! When I raced, we always started from a roll, about 25-30 mph. Then, we hit it, and off to the races! Like many others commenting here, I wish more owners would put the petal to the metal. The ole' goat was meant to run, not walk. Thank you for doing it right. GTOs are meant to run!
Best video on RUclips. I come back from time to time to watch again it never gets old the way you drive that car sir it's amazing. This man is a very skilled driver no traction control no stability or abs no bullshit just real driving. Well done sir 👍🏽
Had a 70 GTO with a 400. I replaced the quadrajet with a bolt on 835 cfm, spreadbore, double pumper Holley. I opened the exhaust as well. I had a problem similar to the Old Man's, I only new OFF and Wide Open. The biggest problem with most of the GTOs was slowing them down. I wore out a new set of Micky Thompson 50s in a week. I busted out laughing when that Old Man first got on it. I had my wife watch it with me. We laughed so hard we cried, and we had a death grip on our chairs the entire ride. I had to get rid of the GTO because of speeding tickets. I bought a 4 cylinder Subaru and have never drove a really powerful car since. That was over 40 years ago. Thanks! Drive it like you stole it!
I brought anew GTO in 1967.The same color combination ,red interior,white exterior,Pilar coupe,400-360 ,4speed,no power steering,390 gears,burn rubber in 3 gears.Pure monster .
Thank you. I own a 66GTO that I bought in Feb. of 1966. Mine is a 2 door coupe with a 389ci 4barrel 335 hp with a 4 speed wide ratio, Marina Turquoise in color with a black interior. Your video brought tears to my eyes and joy in my heart, again thank you.
Awwwwww mannnnnn, That was INTENSE!! My adrenaline was even flowin' and my heart was a pumpin'!! LOVE IT!! Thanks for putting this video together...I had 1975 Pontiac TA, it was a FUN car, BUT nothin' like this!! My friend did have a 1966 Goat that he had really muscled out and when he would take me out in it and romp on it, BELIEVE or not he would lift the front end OFF the road, you talk about setting you back in your seat!!!! Miss those days and those Awesome muscle cars!! Thanks again!!
I have goosebumps sir! I have a '64 hardtop bronze over saddle that is all original with 98 grand on the clock. The reason I bought it was that my dad had a marimba red hardtop that he bought in '66 and his folks sold it on him when he got drafted in '68. He put a lot of work into it and it ran hard on Woodward in Detroit. Mine is bone stock and I don't want to molest it but I would love a rig like yours.
Thank you for posting this great video. Mt dad absolutely loved the video. He had a 1964 GTO configured very much like yours. Nocturne Blue, pillar post. NO power options. 4 speed, 4 bbl carb. The video brought tears to his eyes and reminded him of the great times he had in that car.
Wow!!! That was awesome.felt like i was right there with you.that thing is fast.i use to have a friend that owned one and i always wish i would of bought it from him but he sold it before i new.i really love your car.such a beautiful car.nothing like those old muscle cars.thanks a million for that ride.
My first car , a 64 GTO convertible bought in 66 after discharge . When you found a straight stretch of road so you could let her rip the ragtop acted like a balloon and started lifting you off the road.
My brother had 64 Gto with Tri-Power 389, i had a 66 Gto with a 400 and my Nephew had a 66 Gto but can't remember the motor in it. When i seen this video it was like the best thing i have seen in years, thanks "old man" your awesome!
@@jayhiggins1141 I'm sorry i had the 1968 with the 400 but not original motor (I don't think anyways) but built to the gills. My nephew had the 1966 GTO but i am not sure on that motor, i assume your probably right on that. I went off to the marines and got to be friends with a guy who was from Des Moines not far from my hometown. I sold it to him on payments and he got out of the service on a medical, he never sent me the money so i looked him up when i came back on leave. He said it caught on fire and burnt up😡, of course i never got a dime out of him. I did go check to see 👀 if he was lying to me but it was burnt up, I called the flat bed company loaded the car got my title and left!!
Sometimes, it is just as fun racing against yourself, huh! What a brute! I remember my 1970 Plymouth GTX with a built up 383 Road Runner engine in it, auto on the column, the original 440 4 speed was in the Road Runner with the three two barrels added on but mine was good enough for a sixteen year old kid back in 1979-'80, right before the muscle cars started to fade away at the time! Classic cars and classic music, can't beat them!
Awesome video, this guy could teach a lot of people on how to make a good video! My brother had a GTO 389 tri-power atomatic and when he got on it the car would just rise like 6-8 inches and shoot off like a fricken rocket...awesome cars!!
When he first took off i dont know why i instinctively leaned back and gritted my teeth even though im not in the car lol
Because you was scaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaared ! !lol..........
When an "old man" drives a 64 GTO - he is no longer old ... for about 13 seconds.
GEEZUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I cant believe that guy was driving like that !
👍👍👍
"I'm not too sure about these powerful cars... I don't know... nah, let's get on it."
Well done, sir, well done.
That was fuckin awesome, that's how your supposed to drive them
+Imports are riced fagmobles HIS era was the BEST for power. didn't help that most were teens when they got em but that was half the fun LMFAO.
My dad used to drive his gto like he was a crazy person
I like the way he drives. Hold it in the road oldtimer. GTOs are the best muscle cars.
Notice how he sits pretty far back in his seat? Its because he needs all the space he can get to fit his massive balls to drive a car like this around those bends at those speeds 😂 what a champ 🙌🏻

Some nice nose-up action there. I can't drive like that for fear of wrecking stuff, but that is built to do it. Thanks for posting

I had so much fun on this ride! I was actually giggling.
The Mighty GTO's were a fantastic piece of my 22nd year. My God, I loved hearing the TriPower kick in, Go, Go GTO.
So nice to see it being thrashed! Not just another ‘1965 GTO for sale video’ where all they do is go on about the paint or something...
Nice vid!
Love to see a awesome car being driven like it supposed to be
Thanks for the ride, that was fun.
