Thank you for not making your comment gender specific like so many losers on this comment section. I am a female and I legit had a panic attack when I had to sell my first car. I was freaking out the night before I sold it and was looking at how/where I can store it if I couldn't keep it on the street with no registration. It needed an expensive repair that made it much more practical for me to buy a new car than fix it. I ended up selling it for practically nothing. I have more money now. I hope I can get it back one day :((
Coming from the guy who can't reference conversation properly... Here's a revised version of your comment so you know for the next time. (Yeah, cars clearly mean more to you than typing English properly.) Oh and one more thing, the fact that he enjoys cars and has a sentimental attachment to them has no effect on whether or not he can type properly. So your comment is irrelevant.

My dad was an amazing father growing up. He always made us feel safe and loved and we wanted to win his approval not because we feared him but because he worked his butt off to protect and provide for us. He was a very senior officer for the fire service and lead his men in saving many lives. He is 80 now and had surgery after very early onset lung cancer was diagnosed. I was so worried but he kept saying, no point worrying mate it will be what it will be. I prayed for his welfare and I told him how much I loved him, his reply being thanks mate🤣my dad was never one for saying too much to do with emotional feelings but was there to put his arms around me when I really hit rock bottom. Being the man he is he did almost exactly what his doctors ordered. He was supposed to not be able to walk for a week after surgery but two hours after he came to he was walking to the toilet. His doctors and nurses couldn't believe it but he simply said , I need a leak. I'll be back in a minute, while still agreeing to be accompanied by a nurse. A few days later he was walking up and down the corridors . The specialists surgeons and all the staff were amazed at how resilient he is but always polite and friendly. One nurse was shocked he was 80 as he looks like he's about 65. I was so grateful to his doctor who wanted a full body scan to look for his arthritis issues and found the small operable tumour and since it's removal he's been given a clear bill of health. He's back to walking up his street in the mountains and looking after his property. I think it's a relatively active lifestyle and a great attitude towards life that keeps him young. He's an amazing dad
As soon as he started it "oh they changed the mufflers". After all those years he knew something was different immediately, that showed how much he loved that car. Good job selling it to take care of your family and great job raising boys that appreciated your efforts enough to get it back to you.
I lost my dad last June, at only 67 years old. I actually got him (back) into cars when I was 13 or so, he helped me buy my first car at 15 and always supported my passion and dreams of racing. Thanks to his encouragement I've raced at multiple tracks and met so many great people in the industry. I always wished I could have done something like this with his old Mercury Comet. Thanks Dad! Great to see; remember to spend time with those you love and remind them just how much you care.
These are the moments we live for. A good, hard-working family man who raised his boys to be good men resulting in a natural appreciation of his sacrifices - for which he asked nothing in return - yielding love and respect and a desire to do something amazing for him. I hope to be able to raise my boys in a way that would likewise result in an indestructible bond.
My dad has a 1984 Chevrolet Corvette and he loves it.it is like a drag racing car because of the parts he installed and the color is awsome, midnight blue

I have lost count on the number of times I have this video. The expression on the father's face say it all. All the riches in the world couldn't get that one moment. Hats off to both the sons, like father like sons. Father raised two wonderful souls. Back in those days, Cars were the signature of a man. The make, model, cost, didn't matter to men then, it was like their baby. I still own my father's 1963 Chevrolet Impala. This was a gift to me back in 2002. My father passed away in 2007. I take it out for a drive once or twice a month.
My father wasn't a good man. Watching this video and seeing the family love was so touching. You all are lucky to have each other. And to the two sons who love their dad so much that you'd go to the ends of the Earth to do something for him, you're amazing!
@@DAVIDE-bk8by - My parents were both horrible people. Really disgusting. Fortunately I had a grandmother who was a saint until she died when I was 12. I'm 68 now and still miss her and think of her everyday (someone had to be pretty special to be that remembered 1/2 century after their death). Not sure where my mother came from. Her mother was the finest person I've ever known. Some of your relatives you never miss and others you never stop missing.
The only thing my dad wanted growing up, was to be a dad. He had 5 of us. His own dad left him and his mom when he was only 2. My dad loves old cars, as I do too, but he didn't have a particular one he loved. My mom took all of us away when we were kids and it devastated my dad. He finally has a relationship with 4 of us again. I love my dad so much, and it tears me up thinking about all the pain and loss he has gone through. For father's day, I could have bought him anything, but it was the words in my card which brought him to tears. I don't think I can buy anything for my dad, that can tell him enough just how special he is to me. I wish I could take all the pain from my dad's heart, so he can be completely happy. I love him very much. This story brought me joy because the dad's boys loved him so much and knew what that car meant to their dad. I think that's absolutely wonderful.
As a son who had his dad as his best friend I know every emotion the father couldn't hide as he first saw the car. As dumb as it seems cars are so much more than cars to some of us. The connections my dad and I had through cars runs deep. RIP Dad, see you on the the side.
I wish people would be more grateful of their dads, mine died when I was 3 in a corvette, He died having a hell of a blast, so it's not really something I find sad.

Beautiful story and that Impala is a beautiful piece of Chevy history. The Father is one happy Chevy guy thanks to his family. I can relate although in my case, my Chevy has never been sold. My son Chris, age 50, first ride home from the hospital when born was in the back seat of this car with my wife of now 56 years. My son is part owner of it today. And he has one too. A 72 Chevelle pro street hardtop. I've been offered a lot of money for my car but I would never sell 'a member of the family'. We'll keep our Chevys forever !
"It's not just a car, it's all the memories and the feelings, it brings that back" That line really hit me hard also as a genuine car enthusiasts. You know, the reason why I got into cars is because of my dad's 1998 Honda Civic EK Hatchback. There's nothing much crazy mods on that thing, just your basic d16 with decent exhaust system, lowered springs. Heck it's not even that fast and nothing much special for most people but for me, it means a lot to me. I don't know the exact reason why I love such a car that is basically your "economy car" but I'd say that I truly enjoy the feeling of riding that, the loud yet decent sound of it, the connectivity that I've had with that machine that makes me calm down especially when I was like 4 - 5 yrs old. That thing really brings me a genuine smile on my face. That's also the reason why whenever I see an EK Hatch whether it's a Type R or not, it's more than enough to make me happy. But yeah, sadly, he sold his EK Hatch due to financial reasons and stuff and I wish that I could be able to buy it back or get one myself someday when I'm able to get a license. Again, that thing has no anything quirks and features like the Supra, GTRs, RX7, NSX, 911s, it's just basically your economy car and it wasn't even fast in the first place, but that thing would definitely have a special place in my heart!!! Sure that there's more better cars than Civics and don't get me wrong, I do genuinely love them but this one, there's something with that machine that makes me feel connected and it really makes me calm and happy. It's nostalgic to be exact. If it wasn't because of that car, I would not be the same person that I am today, heck, maybe I'd be someone who has no clear path to go in life, no goals or dreams. And lastly, that car is the main connection between me and my dad even tho we don't bond the way we used to be anymore (there's a big story of that and I don't wanna talk about it for now). That thing also taught me the true essence of being a genuine car enthusiast and that is doing what you love not for people's attention or whatsoever but for passion. It's not always about hype, something to brag on, stats, numbers, specs or any crazy math or mad technologies there is but rather the connection between you and the machine. I'm totally grateful for it!!!

I need to show this to my 53 year old son . He knows I still think about my favourite car , a 60 Buick rag top , black with black top . He was just a twinkle in my eye then ! The world needs more families like this !
Both of my parents passed when I was 34yrs old and able to afford to do something like this for them. It tears me to pieces to watch, but I do for the good vibes. Cherish your parents people. Show them and tell them, whenever you can. Its hard to predict the exact ways in which you will miss them, nor how often each day, week, month...year. The acknowledgement of their absence can seem almost claustrophobic.
I've watched this particular clip at least 15 times and I get teary eyed every time! God bless those sons for working so hard to bring that car home! I pray their Dad will enjoy driving it for years to come!
My dad 56 Chevy Nomad sat broken in our back yard for 25 years because he never had the money to rebuild the engine raising 5 of us kids, my brother took the car and bought it back to life and gave my dad the ride in the car and had a smile 50 miles wide and was so so happy, today my brother still has the car and will never leave our family, this so heartwarming thank you for sharing.
A Chevy commercial at the end LOL. Honestly, that kind of brought tears to my eyes too. That's awesome and that's a testimony to what a real father is to his kids. The way that they responded to him ,the work they did to find that exact car and to buy it for their father and to gift it back to him. That really is awesome! Made me feel good watching it.

Omg it's in impeccable shape! The dedication from his son is fantastic! I hope my sons grow up to be like this guy. Humble, caring , highest integrity.
I'm not the type to get attached to objects, but histories like this still make me emotional. You see, 20 years ago this man sold the vehicle he used to visit friends, go to work, buy groceries and so on, just to make sure that he and his family would have food on the table. He didn't know how long would the money earned last; He didn't know if they had a future after the money was spent. To have his son buying back THIS specific car after so much time has passed is not only a relief beyond imagination (in the sense that the difficult times are truly over), but also a priceless sign of appreciation and sympathy.
As a human, It moves me to see the love, respect of the family and his heartfelt appreciation and amazement. As a car guy, seeing the smile and the feeling he has in that driver's seat...it's what it is all about no matter what you drive.
Great story I can relate to, I was once forced to sell a car I loved dearly because of moving out of state and it wasn't running at the time. I let it go for next to nothing and it damn near broke my heart. I still think of that car to this day.

You're absolutely right....... Good evening lrene how are you doing over there hope you're having a wonderful day it's a great day that the lord has made.
I have a similar story, though it's probably nowhere near as big as a son finding a beloved car for his dad: My dad once told me a story of how when he was a boy, he would go to the corner store and buy Philadelphia Phillies baseball cards for five cents apiece, until he had the entire 1964 team. He kept these cards in a rubber band in his back pocket, and would take them wherever he went. One day, he and his father went to the movies, and during the course of the movie, the cards must have fallen out of his pocket. They went back to the theater, but the cards were gone. About two years ago, I went online and found a pack of original 1964 Phillies team baseball cards for sale at a reasonable price, buying them and waiting until his birthday to give them to him. When he opened the box and took out the cards, he started crying.
+kevin rock If that's what you believe, then that's fine, but, having lived with him, I tend to believe differently. My dad very rarely makes profound displays of emotion, but a gesture as meaningful as replacing something one lost five decades ago should very likely move them to tears.
Agreed. As a real father you do WHATEVER you can to make sure your family is taken care of. I love this. He must have been a really good father and looks like grandfather
This video was a real testimony to the two sons' love for their dad. My father bought a new 1965 Chevy Impala SS when I was just 17. It was one of the most beautiful Impalas that GM produced. Taking that car to the prom with my date was a dream come true!

This made me cry twice. I saw the one with the dad and his son fulfilling his promise. For his one the son had to by the car from Canada. That's harder to do but all in all both of them were very heart warming and very touching videos and I would do the same for my dad, although I am just 13.

Lovely story. Probably one of the hardest decisions, but an obvious decision at the time for his family. All those years the car was gone I'm sure he felt the loss, but he didn't regret his decision. In 2003 my wife and I had just both had surgery. We were struggling to pay the hospital bills. I actually started selling stuff on ebay to get us through each week. We were at the point of selling a dining room set with buffet that had belonged to my grandmother. I was ready to run the ad. My wife told me to hold off. Even though we hadn't told people of our financial situation, my mom ended up giving us enough to get through it. If we had sold the furniture I know there would be a hole left of my grandmother's memory. So glad he got the car back, the exact same car. That is a cool story.
He must be one hell of a father to inspire a son to go to that much effort. That’s called a legacy.

It needed an expensive repair that made it much more practical for me to buy a new car than fix it. I ended up selling it for practically nothing. I have more money now. I hope I can get it back one day :((

Imagine how good of a dad he must have been. This melts my heart ❤️
He's an amazing dad
indeed..
Same here! ❤

Thanks Dad!

my dad left us at 5 years old...glad to see a lot of dads can inspire this kinda love from their boys

Great story I can relate to, I was once forced to sell a car I loved dearly because of moving out of state and it wasn't running at the time. I let it go for next to nothing and it damn near broke my heart. I still think of that car to this day.
What was it?

when I was in the Army (drafted) I bought a 1969 Dodge Dart GTS with a 383 and a 4 speed. I put headers on it and it was mean. Fortunately I got sent to Germany instead of Viet Nam. We stored it in the garage but my dad went and sold it behind my back and spent the money. To this day I've never seen one like it.
I'd love more than anything to find my dad's old chevelle. He talks about it all the time. He'd absolutely faint.
That makes me sad...
+Daniel Allen Why don't you guys buy an old Chevelle and fix it up? Might be a great project together. Start with a rust free car.
Same here. My Dad always talks about his 72 Chevelle's
+Daniel Allen Can't find my dad's 57 bel air i think he ran it into the ground people stole parts off of it haha
+chris michener Same here but a '70 and I'd do anything to find it.
Tears running down my face for this man, and I don’t cry easily.
You’re not alone my friend. It’s not just car. It’s a piece of who he is.
This is my favorite video of all time. It always makes me cry. His reaction is priceless. My dad sold his corvette 15 yrs ago to make ends meet, I remember him driving us around in the corvette. I can’t wait to do the same to my pops
Hope you can find it
Yes hope you find it too.
The lengths this guy went through to get the car back to his Dad is such an amazing and heartfelt story. Incredible. It’s like a wonderful dream.
Crazy how he knew the muffler had been changed after 30 years. Wow. He loved that car.
@J Cal OKay Cool Kid
That's awesome. I sold my '72 Mach 1 and my '01 Mustang GT I built into a 600hp drag car to help raise my new family and my grandchildren. I hope my cars are still out there bringing as much joy to the owners as my grandchildren do me. Cheers.
When a son does that for his daddy no matter how many years later it shows what a wonderful childhood that son had and what a wonderfull father that lovely man was. Truly heartwarming in the best possible way.
Seeing this made me cry.Such a beautiful gesture. My daddy's been gone almost 3 years.Parents really do give it all to their kids.
4:20 "They changed the muffler" amazing how he remembers what it sounded like 20 years ago.
420 ayyyy
andres arredondo Trust me, brother. You NEVER forget
Only a great man can compel his kids to go out of their way for 5 years to find that car for their dad. That is truly a blessing and love.
You're absolutely right....... Good evening lrene how are you doing over there hope you're having a wonderful day it's a great day that the lord has made.
This shows that a good man will give up literally everything to support his family.
I have a similar story, though it's probably nowhere near as big as a son finding a beloved car for his dad:
My dad once told me a story of how when he was a boy, he would go to the corner store and buy Philadelphia Phillies baseball cards for five cents apiece, until he had the entire 1964 team.
So sweet. :)
That counts as equally amazing.
your Da sounds like a big girls blouse 😬
+kevin rock If that's what you believe, then that's fine, but, having lived with him, I tend to believe differently. My dad very rarely makes profound displays of emotion, but a gesture as meaningful as replacing something one lost five decades ago should very likely move them to tears.
Thanks for your view, Kevin. Nice polo shirt.
The father's reaction! It was incredible. What great sons!
This almost makes me want to have kids one day. But then I see my friends' kids and I think, naw, these sons are just special.
lol
Well the generation before and now big differences
İt all depends on you. Your kids learning life 99 percent from parents.
no, its more like 5% from their parents, 95% from their friends
Elvymond Yao Yeah, only if you are a bad parent.
Agreed. As a real father you do WHATEVER you can to make sure your family is taken care of. I love this. He must have been a really good father and looks like grandfather
Grandpa of four.
What a great dad and great sons! They gave him a time machine.
This video was a real testimony to the two sons' love for their dad. My father bought a new 1965 Chevy Impala SS when I was just 17. It was one of the most beautiful Impalas that GM produced. Taking that car to the prom with my date was a dream come true!
What an incredibly thoughtful thing for the sons to do!! He’s a blessed man. Must have been a good Dad.
Hello how are you doing?
That's simply AMAZING why to go my hats off you for doing that
Wonderful family, and he's obviously been an amazing, wonderful Dad to his kids for them to have devoted so much time and effort. Thank you so much for posting this clip, truly heartwarming and a pleasure and privilege to watch.
Made me tear up so much. What a great father and what a great son. Love this so much!!
You're absolutely right....... Good evening Jenny how are you doing over there hope you're having a wonderful day it's a great day that the lord has made.
Love your father's
One amazing father to have his boys do that. Much respect
Lost count of how many times I’ve watched this beautiful video. Why? It’s full of love, of decency, qualities sometimes seemingly in short supply, these days.
This made me cry twice. I saw the one with the dad and his son fulfilling his promise. For his one the son had to by the car from Canada. That's harder to do but all in all both of them were very heart warming and very touching videos and I would do the same for my dad, although I am just 13.
Same for me bro
Good for you...
Same except im 12
You will go a long way in life young man ... keep it up .
Definitely an awesome dad to raise such thoughtful kids.
From heart-warmer to tear-jerker! Such a truly heartfelt story of a fantastic father!
,
must be one hell of a surprise considering the dad had a Mic on his chest before the video... you can hear when he hits his chest... "Hey Dad, let me just mic you up for fun so we can make a nice home video" yeah ok

Shows how much the dad loves his family and how much his family loves him. Moving and inspiring.
