McDonald's employee who walks over 2 miles to work gets special Christmas gift from a Secret Santa

The EastIdahoNews.com team is busy helping a local Secret Santa give $1 million to deserving people in eastern Idaho this holiday season.
Isaiha has always been a responsible person.
Two and half years ago, he and his siblings were sent to live with their grandma. Isaiha held down a job, went to school and played hockey as he worked toward a scholarship. He eventually dropped out of both school and hockey to help his grandma with his siblings.
Isaiha’s grandma was diagnosed with cancer in August 2022 and passed away this March. A month later, Isaiha’s brother lost his life.
Isaiha and his older sister were left to fend for themselves. He pulled himself out of depression with her help.
Isaiha works at McDonald's and hopes to save enough money to get into a place of his own. He bought a car six months ago but it broke down the same week he bought it. He walks about three miles each way to get to work or relies on rides from his sister or friends.
He doesn’t give up on himself or let his situation define him. Isaiha has a big heart, is kind and has a smile that is contagious. He has goals to continue his education and get back into hockey.
Secret Santa asked that we visit Isaiha and surprise him with a special Christmas gift. Watch the video in the player above!

I was told this a a kid my grandfather my mom's dad had to quit school in order to support the family l heard he hated to do that because of his reasons and he swore that his kids will never quit school and better one self and they didn't well they got their GED but again no one was able to take that away from them or yourself kudos for him and EIN and especially the staff there and blessings for everyone here and there across the universe.🌹🤩🥰😘 And merry Christmas to one and all.

It was such a privilege to play hockey with Isaiah! He was always so positive and loved the game. I'm so happy he had this blessing come toward him this year. I can say, just from the little details I have seen of his life and the things he was dealing with mid-season, he deserves everything the world can offer! This put a smile on my family's face, knowing a distant family member is getting better. We love you, Zay. You will always have a home with your team, on the ice, and with us. Forever and always.

As a fellow that was a dishboy at chilis for 4 years and walked 4 miles to work i LOVE to see this. im no longer doing that but the struggle is real.

My sons used to walk several miles to work, and my grandfather used to walk about 20 miles to work at a factory for 25 cents an hour and then 20 miles homee after shift. It's definitely respectable to walk to work, still make it through a shift, and then make it home. Well done! Glad you don't have to go through this anymore.

These two siblings are just perfect. The way she cares for her brother is absolutely beautiful. These two kids have been through so much and are working so hard. They deserve the world. Prayers for these two kids.

Isiah is so shy and humble. It seems like the individuals that Secret Santa recognizes all have those two traits. They help their family, friends, and community and just go on with their business. It’s so refreshing to see unsung heroes rewarded.

I used to walk miles per day just to find food.

This fine young man and his siblings have been through a lot, still they have decided to do whatever it takes to keep going. I am sure his grandmother taught them good. Going strong the right way and no turning to drugs, alcohol and crime is the only way to get out of poverty and not become homeless. God bless him and all the people who made this possible.

Life can be unfair at times, and it can seem like nobody cares. I'm so proud of this young man for the sacrifices he's made for his family and for having a good work ethic. I love that he reacted the way he did, not faking anything to please someone else. I am sure he is just as happy as those that break down in tears, but that is simply not in his nature. To react less visible, but real, is way better than to fake a big reaction. Good kid, you deserve it!

I was a caregiver for my grandmother when she was sick, and now my mom (doing a lot better) for the past 10 years.
I can't stress enough how much respect I have for people like caregivers, and nurses who go out of their way to help others.
