That the world he was born into was not the same as the one he was currently existing in. The west was dying. Maybe the next couple of decades might see a few range wars and smaller criminal outfits like Bonnie and Clyde, but soon battles for land and money would be fought with pen strokes and lawyers, not guns and horses. And those who raged against the changes would be hunted by far tougher federal agencies than just the private Pinkerton agency. But Dutch's failure as a leader and person to see that and adapt, and the failure to care for those under him, leads to all his best friends being killed or betraying him as he loses his mind. Holy crap I didn’t realize the comparison!!! He was thinking of arthur at this moment
Arthur, Dutch, John and Hosea, the boys
Crazy to think the super charismatic guy that is Dutch Van der Linde has a go to final speech 😂
I know they made a reference in rdr2 but tbh they hadn't thought about Arthur
Rdr2: you cant fight gravity😅
Rdr: you cant fight gravity😔
God damn this shit hit different
Sometimes I wanna hug Dutch lmao
Damm Duch 😔
In the camp you can find a paper that shows dutch writes down and recites his speeches. Kinda crazy thinking about how he thought of this one in a similair situation
Can't say there are many video game sequels that not only surpass the first game, but actually enhance the characters and story of it. Replaying RDR1 was never the same after playing 2. It really made the experience much more impactful and emotional. Truly something special.
Damnnnnnn I never knew they’d connected the dialogue ..... so spectacularly awesome
This speech hits harder if u played rdr2 first 😢
You have all ways a plan dutch
In Dutch's own way, he found the meaning of life, as we all do, just another in another form
That’s crazy! I didn’t know those scenes were influenced by each other I thought it seemed familiar when jumping off that cliff
In retrospect, the way Dutch says, "this is a good one" when confronted by John is especially sad because at that point, he had lost everything and everyone that he once called family and realized he was the cause. His last idea was to rid himself from the world as he believed he didn't belong in. Beautiful writing from an amazing game
Dutch promised a better life for the gang but in the end he lied and betrayed them
He forgot that this time there was no river behind him
Dutch went out like that Chelonian Master- off a cliff. And both guys led their followers to their untimely deaths.
i just played the rdr 2 mission for the first time the other night i have never played rdr 1 but ive seen his speech and the second i heard him say those thing and rdr 2 i knew exactly what it was
Dutch : We can't fight Gravity
CJ : I hate Gravity
The real flying Dutchman
The crazy thing is Is that I just replayed through the game again and I heard that speech and I thought exactly like how this video portrays. I was probably going to try and make a video myself honestly
Dutch thought there was water below him in rdr1.
Man, i played Red Dead 2 first, when i played 1 and got to Dutch's suicide, i actually thought he was gonna jump and land on water, like the second game. When i noticed there was no water below that mountain, i noticed the water in my eyes.
Remember kids we can’t fight gravity
The clone talk made me think about twice, how they all thought they were the real one and the real one was nearly killed by himself
WOAH IVE NEVER PUT THAT TOGETHER!
“My whole life, I ever did was had a plan”
But this time there's no water
"You can't fight gravity."
Louis-Sébastien Lenormand: *Aight bet*
Dutch practices his dramatic speeches
You got the right weather for these shots
the bad audio filter on rdr1 makes it so much better
This hits hard
