HERE IS A CUT LIST: The top plate is 12x15x1/4" the 12" is the depth. The 4 vertical pieces are 1x1x7". The 2 bottom feet are 1x1x16" then slash cut at a 45 degree. The 2 pieces running parallel to the feet which the table sits on are 1x1x10" slash cut at a 45 degree.

One thing I'm curious about is where you get 1x3 strapping. I'm not familiar with what that is, and Home Depot / Lowes don't carry any wood in that dimension. Thanks!
Boss man, you need 3M 2297 filters. The 2297 gives all of the benefits of of the 2091 (the one you used in the video) and the better 2097 model filter. The 2097 is better than 2091 because it also filters out ozone, which is a byproduct of welding. However the 2297 is better than both of those! 2297 filters gives additional ozone filtration above the 2097 and greatly increased “nuisance odor control” as well. Personally I hate smelling certain types of burnt metal when I weld and the 2297 is the best filter.

I didn’t read all of the comments, so someone may have already said this.
For cuts up to 36” I use s piece of 1/4” thick flat stock and clamp it to the fixed jaw on the vice. The flat stock should Be the height of the jaw. You can then clamp a stop anywhere along that flat stock to make repetitive, fast, accurate cuts on your Evolution type saw!

I use an Evolution saw although not that much.. I like the tip regards bias cutting...will defo emply that technique in the future.

To save a lot more time in the long run, make a block of wood with pre-measured hole to line up bolt holes. Set on end of angle or square tubing and either drill through or center punch.

Feeling pretty good thanks Bran, still got 8 days & 3hrs until most restrictions lifted, but who’s counting. Going for a shot tomorrow, only the 22, don’t tell my doctors, they’ll hit the roof. Can’t use the big stuff or drive heavy vehicles or lug my welder around for another 2 months.

Nice build Brandon, I remade some target stands for our club, because some can't hit the target and the stands suffer. We use min 3/16
now. One tip for you predrill your holes before you weld up, makes the job easier. I was thinking maybe you might use a metal blackener rather than paint, what do you think?
I think metal blackener is a great idea! Thanks for passing it along. Some of the folks that use these stands have been known to hit the steel where the wood goes through which causes the metal to pinch the wood and you can't get the wood out. If that ever happens to you, run a big drill bit through the hole to get rid of the expansion where the bullet went through. You will have an added hole in your stand, but it will be usable again.
Ill probably add two 6” wheels on them on either the left or right side so they can be easily moved around especially at a range!

Did yo do this? If it is a sales project, I'd make it an option and not something standard.
Just gonna throw this out there. You might think about using a 90° air die grinder with rolloc sanding discs for doing quick deburing. Much lighter weight than an angle grinder. Your wrists will thank you. Im not saying that the angle grinder doesnt have its place. Just seems easier for quick deburring operations on many parts

Great video! I made a mag drill stand also but it *doesn't* have an adjustable table like yours, very cool!!! I just welded 3 sides (2" flat) to keep the mag drill from falling off. Question, are you priming the stands, or using a primer/paint combo?
Thanks! I'm using a primer paint combo. They get pretty beat up quickly.
On a flowmeter, top of the ball is where the flow is read....You were more towards 25CFH, not 20. Just an FYI
@Magua136 in some of my videos I show closeups of the guage. This one reads on the center. I think it depends on the manufacturer. Many people don't realize but at the top of most flow meters will be a black dot with 2 arrows pointing at it. The arrows indicate where to take your reading :)

I got it through Fronius. This is my first inverter based mig welder and its pretty impressive. Its got a full 3 year warranty so its hard to beat. Hobarts are pretty much bullet proof. I love mine also.
You need to put a sticker on them with your name and number (free advertising if your proud of your product)

Thanks man. I own 2. I have a Jackson safety that I really like and ive owned for 5 years and I just got the one you see me wearing in the video which is made by fronius. I like them both a lot but the Fronius has better clarity. It doesn't have a grind mode like my Jackson safety but I don't really use it anyways. I like the comfort and external shade adjustment knobs on the fronius also but you can't go wrong with either honestly.

I also make a shooting frame - but quite a bit different, but, my comment is that my side frames are 24" long but the cross frame is only 6" back. It is more stable that way. Paper, wood, cardboard take a hit - but a frame hit could knock it over. That's why he requested the holes in the legs.
Great idea Danny. Putting the cross piece in the center with the holes in the legs has more to do with keeping it stable from wind rather than direct hits. Another cool tip I picked up is use binder clips to attach your cardboard to the strapping and use 3m spray adhesive to attach your paper targets to the cardboard.

@@dc85337 Snipers have to practice for any weather right? I think it is more wind when not in use so the shooter isn't picking them up in between uses.
Your hex headed set screw, I would weld a T handle on it so you could tighten it by hand.

love your videos man am a beginner at mig welding but i keep missing the weld to the other piece i keep welding on one piece not hitting the other piece do u have any tips or i just takes practice?
What shade lens are you using? It sounds like you need to go lighter. I use a 6.
Keep the bolt in the nut when you weld it. No need to tap it after. Some anti seize should make everything run smoothly.
@Hedge Knight for whatever reason I've never had good luck doing it that way on smaller nuts. The nut akways seems to distort and the bolt drags.

It sounds like you need to sharpen your bit. There are some food videos online that explain this in detail. A quick sharpening and you will be back in business

I use a speed square to mark it. You can pick one up at any big box store or hardware store. Carpenters use them to mark lumber.

I use the 2097! They will filter organic fumes.
I will have to check it out. Do they list welding and cutting fumes? They do with the 2091.

No, you are right, I think it's how Fronius must set their display. Most 1/8" .030 C-25 calls for around 18 volts if I remember correctly but I seem to think their display reads higher than typical.

Where is the best place to order materials metal steel for welding I mean I’m new to this I live in New York City and it’s very hard to buy steel material I was wondering if you could recommend me I’ve been watching your videos and they’re great and I would like to make some money just like this I just got all my licenses but I wanna make money on the side
What I do is look online using search terms like "steel" or "metal suppliers near me". They will be your best bet. Call them up and tell them your new to welding and your looking to buy from them and this gives you a great opportunity for them to tell you about their services and pricing. Like for me, the shop near me doesn't charge to cut a full length in half. Makes it easier to transport. Don't ever buy metal from the big box stores. It's marked up incredibly high.

Do you take a deposit for your builds or how do you go about charging the customer for the product?
I generally just do the work and they pay me when they pick up their item or before I ship it back to them.

Have you considered adding a tee handle to that stanless bolt. Just for ease of use. That way the customer wouldn’t need any tools to adjust the target.
It's probably not a bad idea, but that also keeps people from cranking down hard too

Lets be honest, how many people on a beginner welding channel would know what that is? They certainly aren't searching for "how to MAG weld" or "how to GMAW". Only people in the trade know what your talking about and that's not my primary audience.
@@BrandonLund I understand that, but if people are to know it, it does not hurt to say the right method. Otherwise there will never be any change, I mean if people said right from the beginning there have been no misunderstandings. Maybe it's an idea for a clip about different methods and what you weld with them.😃
I agree completely and it's probably not a bad idea to include in an upcoming episode. People run self shielded and call it mig welding so great point and thanks for the suggestion.
